Raw African Black Soap From Ghana, Pure and Organic

I read about this product at several places on the Internet and when I found it here on Amazon at a fair price I bought it.

I liked the fact that this raw product is in a close shape to a normal bar of soap and the packaging is great; each bar is wrapped separately. I have been using it for almost 2 weeks now as my only soap, face/shower/shampoo and I love it.

I read that you shouldn't use it directly in the hair as the hair will wind itself into the soap and you won't be able to get it out.

NOT SO FOR ME....but let me say I have a very short haircut for a women so it's not an issue for me. I do think that if you have longer hair, rub the soap in your hands and then your hands into your hair. A little goes a long way and it lathers very nicely. I also love how my legs feel after I shave with this product. In case this helps someone, I am caucasian.

I have spent 100s of dollars trying out different black soaps. So trust me when I say, "I have tried them all". First let me say, the PACKAGING of this product is THE BEST OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for taking time out and thinking about the end users of your product!! I am able to store it after use in the package that it came in!!! Which means everything to me!

Now on to the soap.... it deep cleans without irritating my skin!!!! And safe enough for me to let it sit on my face for a few before I rinse it off! I have seen IMPROVEMENTS in my skin since using this soap... Finally on the right path to an even skin complexion!

I have been using this soap for three weeks. I use it for my whole body and face. My face had little blemishes and some pimples and now they're completely gone. The dark spots are lightning up. After the first week I dealt with a little dryness around my lips and chin and I broke out a bit but that was my face trying to get used to a new product. I use 4:1 water to apple cider vinegar as toner and that helps with the dryness. Google apple cider vinegar.

But anyway, I got the soap within two days in great condition. I don't think I'll go back to anything else because I've tried everything for my face and this is the only thing that has worked for me. I'm brown skinned and it made my skin get like a tone lighter. I guess it's because the soap really gets in there to get rid of all the dead skin. It really gives you a glow. You won't be disappointed.

I love soap, clean smelling, natural soaps. I gave up chemical products a few years ago because I was sick of posioning myself everyday, and I now have continued using natural products. I have tried using every natural product out there, and I am always looking for something new. I saw some videos on You Tube about African Black Soap and I became curious about the claims. Lever 2000 Moisturizing Bar, Original, 4Ounce Bars in 16Count Packages (Pack of 2)

My husband for some reason goes through bar soap like a madmen and I was looking for a brand that would be a good deal, smells good, holds up well (doesn't get all soggy and slimmy, and doesn't leave skin dry. These arrived in a timely manner and my husband and I really like them. They are no-nonsense and last longer than some of other soap brands we've used. They smell good, not too feminine or too masculine. They leave your skin feeling nice and clean without feeling as if your skin has been stripped of all the natural oils that keep your skin supple. Good solid product, would highly recommend.

As a 200+lb guy, I've gotta keep a cap on my body odor. I also have sensitive skin on top of it, and I don't like soaps that smell like a bath parlor or a beauty salon. I like soaps that will do their job (for hours), smell crisp, clean, and fresh, AND last a long time.

Lever 2000 does all of the above wonderfully.

I've tried bath gels, antioxidant bars, STRONG FOR MEN bars, exfoliating nonsense, yada yada. Nothing cuts the odor, makes me feel cleaner, and lasts longer than a bar of Lever 2000.

I like the original scent, I think it smells the best and a box of six can last me up to four months or more, considering I take a shower every day.

The price is fair on top of it. Lever 2000 got it right.

This is a great soap at a great price. I'm happy to be able to purchase it in bulk from Amazon and not have to worry about running out for a while. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in the same quantity as the Aloe Lever 2000 bars. The aloe soap comes with a total of 24 bars while the original bars come with 32. My wife and I like to alternate the 2 bars so that we never get bored with any one scent. This is still a great value and convenience!

This very high quality English bath soap makes a creamy luxuriant lather, rinses off well, and leaves your skin feeling very clean but not irritated. Although it is not made with pure phenol (also known as "carbolic acid"), it does contain Lysol BP which is a cresol-containing disinfectant. Cresols are organic derivatives of phenol which are less damaging to the skin than pure phenol. Phenol itself was the original antiseptic used in surgery by Joseph Lister in the 19th century. "Antiseptic" surgery allowed people to survive open fractures and other wounds that would previously have invariably been fatal due to infection. Phenol antisepsis was eventually replaced by our current "antiseptic" or sterile surgical technique, in part because of the skin irritation caused by phenol. Phenol still has its uses, however: The cadaver I dissected as a medical student was preserved in 5% phenol solution.

I love this soap but if you buy it be prepared for the strong disinfectant smell. To me it smells clean, but it may not be to everyone's taste.

This is real carbolic soap, and is very strong smelling. Carbolic Soap Company even packages each bar in an exterior zipper-bag to help contain the aroma, but frankly we love it. Instead of keeping these under the sink, we like to keep them in the dresser drawers to keep the clothes smelling nice. Great for hand washing and bathing with super-strong antibacterial properties. Its a big soap bar too, 7 oz (200g) about twice the size of a standard bar.

Here are the specifications from the wrapper: "This pure vegetable carbolic soap is effective against all germs including MSRA, C Difficile and Bird Flu. For personal and household use."

While this smells and looks the same it apparently is not what I remember the "Lifebouy" soap of old. I was looking for something with "carbolic acid". This does not list it in the ingredients. Also, soap now made in the UK falls under the EU regulations and soap can no longer contain "carbolic acid".

I am still looking for the real product. The only way I can find it may be at some country store in the middle of nowhere that is still in business. Anyone knowing where to find soap with carbolic acid please post.

Sumi Haigou Settuken Charcoal Bar Soap - 3 bars, 135g each

I have combination skin & before using this product, would get a pimple or two every few days. After using this for a month, I haven't seen any breakouts! None. It doesn't dry out the skin or leave residue, I've only been using this to remove my makeup and keep my skin clear. My skin even feels smoother. Its an average sized bar of soap, I expect one bar to last me months. Perhaps the pack of three will last me a year? Well worth the price!!

I've tried several brands of charcoal soap. I live in an arid area and have sensitive and dry skin.

Pros:

Cleans well.

Good for sensitive skin.

Doesn't dry out my skin.

Price is very good for getting 3 good size bars.

Foams well, don't have to use too much like other charcoal soaps.

Cons:

Only oneand that's the smell. It literally smells like crayons! I'm assuming it's from the bamboo? Don't know. Skin doesn't smell like the soap after use which is good. I still gave this 5 stars as the smell doesn't affect performance. Smell is strong when you first open the package but dwindles after use.

*** Wanted to add: This stuff lasts ALOT longer per bar than other charcoal soaps i've tried.

Eco-Me Laundry Soap, Emma, 32-Fluid Ounce Bottle

I've been steadily "greening" my household products. So when my last bottle of Tide ran out, I decided to give Emma a try due to the simplicity of its ingredients. Eco-Me is a truly green company, unlike say, A Couple of Generations Later. Just take a look at their ingredients label, and you'll see what I mean.

Emma gets my laundry so clean. My clothes almost feel "thinner" somehow, because they're no longer coated in various unnecessary substances. The absence of scent is lovely (I can't stand "Fresh Spring Breeze", "Meadow Fields", or what-have-you). The actual detergent itself actually smell realistically of iced tea, down to the slight bitter tang of tea. Once dried, my clothes carry no scent at all.

What really impressed me is how economical it is. My 32oz bottle is only about 45% gone after 3 months. I do 2-3 loads of laundry every week, so Eco-Me's claim of 64 loads is probably feasible. You only need 1 or 2 caps per wash, and the size of the cap is like the twist-off bottle cap from plastic soft drink bottles.

Emma was used to be on Amazon's subscription program, but not anymore. Vitacost used to carry it, not anymore. It seems that very few people care for this little gem. Give it a try!

Also try half a Downey Ball's worth of distilled white vinegar in your wash, then wool dryer balls in your dryer. You'll never have to buy useless, chemical-laden fabric softeners and laundry sheets again.

I use this for my baby's clothing. It smells great and everything is clean and fresh; people always smell my baby's clothes and comment on how great they smell. NO CHEMICALS!

My mom went to duane reade to find an eco friendly laundry soap and when she found this one and read the ingredients she thought she would give it a try. I wanted a detergent free of synthetic/chemical fragrances and toxins, specifically parabens and surfectants. I am pleased to finally find this product! With three small children, including toddler twins, I'm always on the lookout for a gentle but affordable detergent that cleans well. Unfortunately, Emma detergent is way too mild. Not good when I do ten loads a week.

My three year old daughter is very sensitive to strong detergents (surfactants), dyes and fragrances, so it's been an ongoing struggle to find a laundry soap. I tried Purex Triple Action Liquid Detergent-Free & Clear-50 oz-33 loads with disastrous results itching and horribly cracked hands from what appears to be residue of sodium carbonate left on clothes (a main ingredient, also very caustic, that requires 15 minutes of rinsing to wash off). All Free & Clear 2X Ultra Concentrated Laundry Detergent, 32 Loads 50 oz (1.47 L) wasn't too effective and still caused itching. Tide Free and Gentle, Free of Dyes and Perfumes, 50-Ounce seemed to be the best very gentle to skin, and cleans very well with no scent left behind but so very expensive.

About Emma it's hard to find but my local supermarket had it for less than the price on amazon. It has a PET#1 Container, 100% Natural & Chemical-Free, Sweet Tea scented, no dyes, no parabens, no preservatives, no SLS, SLES, ALS, no synthetic fragrances, no surfactants. Eco-Me does not test on animals or use animal bi-products and has a whole line of gentle household cleaning products on their website.

As it is a gentle soap, it works best on babies' clothes, linens and delicates basically, special loads. I found that it cleans well and leaves clothes soft provided the clothes are only lightly soiled to begin with. Emma won't remove grease, ground-in dirt, mud, or tough stains like chocolate, tomato, blood. It works best on linens and light clothes dark clothes will come out with grease stains showing, even if the food stain is gone. It is also good for towels because it is non-sudsing and rinses off far easier than laundry detergent.

Emma is a good green product, but it may have a hard time competing with major, more established brands. After several months of doing "special loads" with Emma, I'm back to Tide Free and Gentle, Free of Dyes and Perfumes, 50-Ounce which is much better and is still the one we use almost every day, for the whole family. I use it once and I'm done so even if it's more expensive, it saves me a lot of time.

I purchased this Linden scented soap at a local "natural and organic" toiletries shop in Montpelier, VT and I have to say that it is the BEST soap I've used in my 23 years. There are some pros and cons to it for the fellow shopperPROS: it smells amazing! It is a delicate balance between a floral and fruity scent. It lathers VERY thickly unlike most liquid shower gels. You are able to tell alone by the lather that you're using a very good quality soap. CONS: once you wash the soap off you will get a very tacky feeling on your skin, almost as if there is wax left over...please read this next part, don't get discouraged!! As soon as you dry off the soap immediately loses the tacky feeling and leaves your skin EXTREMELY soft. Forget about the waxy texture while you're wet, because as soon as you're dry you're going to have not only a smell left on you for hours that is beautiful, but your skin will be so soft you won't even need lotion. If I could be a spokesperson I would endorse it all day long. Definitely worth a try!

For my wife whom got one as a gift and fell in love with this soap.

Lasts longer than regular soap and no dry skin in winter.

Someone gave my mom 2 bars of these soaps 5 years ago . After mom past 2 years ago I packed them in box. I rediscovered them this past Xmas. I am 52 year old man , one who did not take a great deal thought and time on soap research ! If it didn't make me itch it was good enough for me! I said what the heck and tried one, Wow!
