I've been using this product for the last 20 years. It has never left my skin feeling dry, or left a film on me like "body wash" does. It has the great clean scent of Rosemary (unlike Neutrogena).

I always buy 6 bars or so, unwrap them and let them air dry so they last longer.

It's not a deodorant soap,a perfumed soap, or a fancy soap.

It very simply gets me clean and feeling fresh.

As long as they keep making it, I'll keep using it.

This Pears soap is absolute rubbish, nothing like the original at all. Why do they pay idiots to "improve" on a tried and true recipe! It smells horrible, looks cheaply made, and is so watered down it only lasts a couple of weeks, instead of months for the old type. Of course that is probably a good thing. I mean to use it up washing the dogs.

I ordered two packages of Pears Soap, thinking it would smell and look just like the Pears Soap I have grown accustomed to using and loving when I go to London every couple of years. However, it was nothing like the original Pears Soap!! I was greatly disappointed, and after the fact, I read all the reviews, and that was the biggest complaint about this "new" Pears soap. Apparently, it is not made the same (has different ingredients) and has an awful smell. I would not recommend this Pears Soap. I so wish that I could find it somewhere...any ideas? E.Lee

A year ago, I really started to like the orange type, but that has increasingly become more difficult to find. Thankfully, I was given a sample (one bar) of the new Go Fresh with the Blue fig and orange blossom scent. I like it! Very refreshing in the morning, not overpowering, and not "girlish" (I am a man)

As is true with the other Dove bars, it does an excellent job of cleaning and rinsing. My skin feels really nice after, like I put on a small amount of moisturizing creme.

While it has a pleasant smell to it, it in no way resembles coconut or vanilla, which disappoints me a bit. Admittedly, the soap washes away cleanly, leaving no residue or filmy feeling on the skin. After a week of regular use, I do not notice any change in the smoothness of my skin, nor did I notice that my skin seemed any more moisturized than it did with the use of my regular soap.

All in all, it has a nice clean smell and washes away very cleanly, but I will not make this purchase again. For the price of this one bar, I can buy a six-pack of vanilla scented soap at my local department store that yields the same results and actually smells like vanilla.

Manuka Honey and Propolis Soap

I use this soap daily in combination with East Cape New Zealand Manuka Honey Active UMF 20+ and Manuka Oil 100% Pure East Cape 10ml/0.34oz to treat adult acne (see my other reviews). The hexagon/honeycomb shape of the soap is not only a nice touch in keeping with the honey theme but it actually makes this soap super-easy to grip. Regular bar soaps slip out of my hand constantly in the shower but not this one! It has a pleasantly mild, natural smell. Of course, you're not going to spend $8 for one piece of soap no matter how cute the packaging or shape, or how pleasing the scent, or how ergonomic the design. What you are really looking to pay for is a super-high quality, natural antibacterial soap. The fact that this one not only delivers on that but provides all the other fun features as well, is what makes this great soap a real winner. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, not dried out like regular soap. Just one of these bars has lasted six months of daily use (1-2 showers per day) so it's a great value. I just bought my second bar and plan on buying this stuff for as long as they make it!

I have psoriasis, and my skin has not felt this good in years. I use it on my face too, and it is wonderful. I love it so much, I look forward to taking a shower. For the past 4 years, during the warm weather (June through October) I get a rash where the underwire of my bra rests. I politely like to refer to it as a heat rash. However, my Doctor advises that it is a fungal infection rash. I have tried several creams and powders. Both over the counter and Doctor prescribed and none of them worked. This soap combines great sudsing with a wonderful pure honey fragrance. It is so easy to handle in the shower because of the shape and lasts a long time. I love it! I found this soap while looking for anything to treat a horrible staph infection. I was given several antibiotics that made me very ill and did nothing to stop the infectious and painful sores that kept appearing all over my body. After having located a bar of this soap in my grandmother's laundry cabinet, I became hooked on it. It took out grease stains that had been on my favorite sweatshirt for over 6 months of wearings, washings and dryings. My husband's shirt collars never looked better. All it took was a dampened tooth brush which I brushed over the Octagon bar then used to gently scrub the soap in. That's it--clothes into the wash (along with regular laundry detergent) and out clean! I searched high and low for Octagon for about 9 months never thinking to check on Amazon for soap. I purchased 6 bars and have been happily fighting (and defeating)annoying laundry stains ever since. I highly recommend this product.

*I am reviewing this item strictly based on its use as an acne wash*

I suffer from cystic acne and have tried a gagillion things and after hearing about this product I said what the heck. During the search I found reviews in regard to cystic acne were pretty limited so I here to hopefully help you. So far it's worked pretty great. I usually have about 3-5 boils/cyst pimple/whatever and now I have been down to 1 (1 month of use). Obviously it is a not a cure all but between my limited nut diet(that and stress seem to trigger my outbreaks), tea tree oil and generic acne regiment my skin is looking a lot better. The octagon seemed to set me over the hump. But just fyi when I tried using it alone I flared up again so I would not say that it is a cure all. For the price it's totally worth it and for all you with cystic acne know, money really is no option when it comes down to those physically and emotionally painful buggers.

p.s. do not get it in your mouth.. i had the worst heartburn/stomach acid when some got in my mouth.

The moisturizing soap is good for dry skin and it leaves your skin pretty silky. You don't have that film on your skin like most soaps. You know that you are clean. Your skin just breathes. It's completely non-toxic. Great for skin and hair. So wonderful in a bubble bath, If you take a nice long soak,\ and let the water stand after getting out, you'll see that it has pulled stuff from your pores and it settles in your bathwater. You can't do wrong with Miracle II products. Great for your whole family and great for the environment.

Very good sudsing action going on. Does not cause skin to become dry and itchy like most soaps. Never a nasty scum tub ring. The only thing I don't like about it is the price.

update: I would not buy again. It is too weak. I finished a bottle of this, and did not feel clean after all that usage. I was still sweaty with body odors. Dr. Bronner's soap works better than this.

We love this soap! It makes you feel clean and doesn't leave any residue on you or the tub! I don't have to scrub the shower much anymore. I use it for bath, face, laundry, dishes, floors, etc. etc. I dilute it in a spray bottle and use it to kill insects (ants, roaches, mosquitos, spiders, etc.). My mom tried it and loves it, told my aunt about it...now about 6 households of relatives are using it. Yes, the price is high, but it's highly concentrated. You might try looking for a local distributor to save on shipping.

So, I've been using this product for a while now had been trying to go organic/natural, and had read some good reviews. I feel like it cleanses well without drying my skin, and a little goes a long way. However, I dug a little deeper, and there are some things to be wary of: first of all, "eloptic" is a made-up fad-word, so who really knows what they're doing to this "energized oxygenated water" water by definition already has oxygen (H2O). Secondly, I'm not convinced that its actually SLS free although not sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate is not specifically listed as an ingredient, it just says "foaming agent" (which they say is coconut based which palm-oil SLS's are). To me, this could still well be SLS. The natural oils (apricot, sweet almond and Vitamin E) are good though. Long story short, if you feel like you have benefits from this product or want to give it a try, then by all means buy it. But if you're looking for something organic/SLS free, I'd try something else that's what I plan on doing once this last bottle runs out.
