I contacted Rainbow Research because my bottle does not list triclosan, nor does it say the product is antibacterial. A representative confirmed that triclosan is not an ingredient; it was taken out due to health concerns. They indicated that many websites are not advertising correctly. Therefore, I am not sure if Amazon is selling older products or has the incorrect information listed. Only got a star b/c i had to, I would give this zero stars. I cannot believe it is not illegal to sell this product.
Please do not buy antibacterial items with the active ingredient listed as Triclosan. Products such as this lead to more and more antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria, MRSA for example. Please, for the health of yourself and your family...DO NOT BUY! The problem is, we treat people with Trichlosan for a bacterial infection. If you go rubbing it on your body all the time, guess what, when you get sick your little bacteria buddies have developed a tolerance to it and will not die when you take the drug. Just use regular soap and as hot as you can stand water and you will be fine. In a hurry alcohol based products are fine to use because we don't treat bacterial infections with alcohol.
