This soap is definetly great forhair that is virgin/oily/normal scalp.I have colored hair now and did not work so well with that. It gives great body and fullness to my virgin hair before coloring tho'. It can be drying ang and more so leave a coating on colored hair because of the porosity of colored hair. Kinda gummy feeling.
I read all of the reviews on this product before I purchased it. They paint this little bar as a miracle worker. My experience was unlike any I read. The first week was fine. I did notice tightening and a sheen appearance on my skin. I followed the directions, wash and leave on 3-5 minutes, twice a day, don't use any moisturizers, allow the healing process to begin. After the second week my skin was so dry and itchy, I started using Cetaphil just at night. The breakouts began! Every morning I woke up with at least one new cystic pimple. I thought okay this is just the healing crisis at work, so I continued. After a month of use and no relief, I contacted the lady on the wonderbar website, she directed me to use pure jojoba oil if needed for moisture. Okay, no more Cetaphil, just a tiny bit of jojoba as needed. ZITS, ZITS, ZITS, I mean in places I never had them, all along the hairline, chin area, even around my jaws, it seems like everything this product touched on my skin broke out! Again, I continued, thinking it's going to get better and then my skin will be amazing like all the reviews said. After 2 1/2 months and the worse skin condition I have ever had, I stopped using this product and went back to Proactiv (which I have not had to use since my early twenties) in an attempt to clear up the acne I now have. I probably will have to go to the dermatologist, since I also have some dermatitis around my nose that won't clear up. On the positive side, the Proactiv is starting to clear things up. Now I just have to wait for the scars to fade from having so many zits in a short time. I'm not the type of person to complain about things, or go on a rant, I would normally just stop using it and say, "Okay, well it didn't work for me"! But given I read the reviews and only saw excellent stories, I figured it is my responsibility to share my experience. If I would have read this review, I probably wouldn't have spent the money and time to suffer this product!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a fan of "retro" stuff and antiques. This product just screamed "old days" when I saw it on the shelf at Big Lots. Upon checking the reviews on Amazon; as I always do, I purchased this product. For $.97 we got two nice size bars. I really had purchased it for my own face cleansing, but then my husband discovered it... My husband is a mechanic and of course gets really greasy. He also has a terrible time with his acne. So, he started using it and has reported that it cleans the oil off his hands and body better than Lava or pumice-based soaps. So, in conclusion the hidden talent of Cashmere Bouquet is that it cleans motor oil and other grease from the body better than industrial soaps. We will definitely purchase this again!

I stumbled on this soap in an antique store in Olympia, WA. Gave it a try and have been hooked ever since. I use the Rose or Rose Petal, and both have a sloughing ingredient that is wonderful gets rid of dead skin cells gently. And it doesn't dry out your skin, like most bar soaps do. My husband likes the Sage scented bar, which has the same sloughing action, and has a more masculine smell. None of the scents are very heavy, which is nice because they don't "interfere" with any lotions or colognes you may use after bathing. Really good stuff!
I've been using Bee & Flower Jasmine for years. There are actually 2 smells: jasmine (of course) and soap -it's a little like the clean smell of Fels Naptha.
When the soap came I was traveling and my daughter opened the pack. She said that it smelled so good that she had to bath. I finally used the soap and it smells like cinnamon. This soap is just okay if you like to use soaps on your face. It kind of leaves my skin feeling weird...as if there is a residue on it, and the heavenly citrus fragrance that it had when I originally opened the box goes away pretty quickly leaving a "fatty" traditional soap smell. If you have acne or other skin problems then I suggest you try it, since it is very mild. I usually prefer liquid soaps (Olay, Dove) but decided to try this soap based on recommendations from others. It exceeded my expectations. I followed the instructions to lather it up and leave it on for the allotted amount of time before rinsing it off. After about a week of using it I did notice that my skin felt smoother. A couple of family members also noticed that it had improved my facial skin (more of a youthful glow, and generally tighter skin... I'm 38) and now they want to try it too. I will purchase this product again, and probably extra for family members.
I love using these bags in bathroom and kitchen. I even gave some as a gift to go with special soaps. These mesh/net bags are not too thick to dry quickly, and are very sturdy. I spent a year of college in India and used Chandrika soap while I lived there. With poor water pressure there (and most of the time, bucket baths), Chandrika was wonderful because it rinsed off so easily. I used to use Chandrika a lot but then I ordered some (a different item, not this one) and it was a completely different soap than I had always gotten. I figured they changed the recipe (for the worse) and I gave up on the product. I guess I could have investigated a little but , hey, its just soap... Then not too long ago I decided to see if I could possibly find the old soap that I liked and it was still around and apparently had been all along. I ordered this and it was indeed the soap that I am used to and have been using for 15 years. I like the smell though it is definitely not for everyone.

I was looking for a non-toxic soap product. This soap is it. I've purchased several bottles at this point. I let my girls use it as bubble bath, body soap, and shampoo. The smell is light and clean. It doesn't have a huge amount of lather. However, it leaves you feeling clean. I was under the mistaken belief that lather was good and necessary. Not true, and this soap is evidence.

I'm allergic to EVERYTHING so I can't sing the praises of this product enough! It smells great, I have no reaction to it, and it's nice and hydrating. It has a great lather and I use it as a body wash, so glad I was introduced to this product!
Last year could not find this available anymore and heard rumors 4711 or Mulherins was going out of business. The soap is back and seems to be the same as before with even higher quality packaging (each soap in a cardboard box rather than paper wrapped). This soap cleans well, leaves no filmy or oily feel on the skin (rinses clean), in not harsh or drying, and has a light fresh scent. The bar has a pleasing shape that isn't too large and fits just right in the palm of the hand, and stays fresh and hard and fragrant until the last little sliver of it is used up. Extremely high quality. Its one of life's little luxuries that I try to keep on hand whenever its available (to save a little on shipping, I order half a dozen bars at once). I've been using this product nonstop since the 1970's and I hope it will always be around.

I have tried and tried over the years to find a bar soap that won't cause me splotches and doesn't have a fragrance that bothers my chemical sensitivities. This is the one!!!! I am so excited that I found this. Usually the fragrance free bars either have some strong smell (to me) or they aren't worth a flip. This one has a very very light nice scent...it's almost imperceptible, actually it probably is to others who don't have nose that smells and is allergic to everything! Had I known it had even a hint of a scent, I wouldn't have bought it because I would have thought that it would break me out. So don't let it deter you. Not even a hint of redness after I bathe. I have super long, think red hair with layers and waves. This stuff lathers up super easy for being a bar soap which is great. The smell is nice, but it is a bit too strong for me, however, I am getting use to it as I don't notice it much anymore. It rinses out cleanly but your hair is so clean it is tough to run your fingers through it easily WHILE WET. I towel dry my hair and let it finish air drying. Then my hair is super soft and my fingers run easily through my hair. My hair is not tangled. So this soap takes a little getting use to, but overall the product is really great.
