This soap is great. I use it in liquid form and in bar form. It contains no sodium laurel/laureth sulfate, which is literally toxic to my skin. I used to have really bad eczema on my hands, and the thing that helped most was switching to Dr. Bronner's soap.

Dr Bronners soaps are made of good ingredients and they really are good for your skin. I like the way my skin feels when I use their soaps. This one doesn't have much of a scent if you are looking for an unscented or mild scented soap. The lavender soap smells great. These soaps lather well and rinse clean. They are a little pricey but if you want a quality soap, look no further. Great soap, great scent. People, this soap is for everyone, not just black people (do you know how incredibly ignorant that sounds?! I wish people would research stuff before they perpetuate this kind of nonsense.) It is called "black" soap because there are plant ashes in the soap, giving it it's dark appearance. It is made from leaves and bark of various trees and plants that are burned in a kettle or vat. The leaves are from banana trees, plantain skins, leaves and bark, palm tree leaves, cocoa pods, shea tree bark, etc. The ashes from the leaves are then mixed with water and then filtered. Oils such as shea butter, coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa butter are added to this water to create the soap.

I wanted to use this product for a few weeks before I gave it a review. I am African-American with very oily, blemish and acne prone skin. I have used Proactiv which worked but didn't help much with the blemishes and Mary Kay cleansers with made my face worse. Since using this black soap not only has my face begun to clear up but my oily skin is not as oily anymore and I can wear makeup without my face getting as shiny. I use the black soap with my Clarisonic Cleansing brush, and the soap has even helped with my folliculitis. I spent hundreds of dollars on Chemical Peels, and products from the dermatologist and nothing has worked as well as the black soap. I got rid of all the other products I would normally use and just have the black soap and my skin has never looked better! Hi i had blemishes and pimples on my face since I started using this product i am seeing improvements my skin is starting to clear up nicely
I like these soaps but even the baby is not mild. It stings in more intimate places whereas other natural soaps don't. I still buy it ocassinaly but use it more for hand washing. Their mild is pretty strong which was very disappointing. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it's organic and unscented.

I had been paying $10 per bar of L'Occitane shea butter based soaps. After reading the reviews on Dr. Bronners organic soaps, I decided to purchase one bar to try. I use it as an all body soap, including washing my face. L'Occitane doesn't even come close in my opinion in regards to: Moisturizing properties, Lather, Gentleness, and Softness. I chose the aloe vera soap as it is unscented, and of course, organic. All I can say is SUPER SUDS! If you are looking for a great bar of soap that lathers well, look no further! This soap is one of my favorites. My husband loves it too. Most soaps make him itchy. Although this isn't advertised as hypo-allergenic, it is the only soap that he can use. It is comparable to other bars in how long it lasts. I would highly recommend it.
La Source soap smells heavenly and leaves you feeling uplifted and very clean. It's expensive and is a once in a while purchase for me, but I love that smell. The muscle relaxing bath salts smell just as good but the shower gel smells a little different, so beware..;-) I purchased these at amazon through beauty.com and the shipping took a little longer than expected as a prime member, but I got the package and everything was great.

This soap is terrible. It falls apart into chunks within the first few uses. It makes the skin feel hydrated but i can't get it to sud enough, even after much rubbing of the bar onto my rough bath sponge, to wash even just 1/4 of my body before the suds completely dissapearing. I know that glycerine bars don't sud like soap bars but this is rediculous!
My cleaning lady demanded that I quit using bar soap because it is hard to clean "just use soft soap body wash" she dictated.... Found this info on the web and sharing...
