A Wild Soap Bar Shampoo Bar, Woof Wild Dog, 3.5 Ounce

...I've been using it on my own head (it's an experiment, don't ask; Top Secret and stuff). Based on my experience, this would probably work well for any animal with sensitive skin. I mean, it works fine on me and I have a pretty sensitive scalp. Hence the previously mentioned experimenting. So it would probably be great for just about any dog unless they had an allergy to one of the essential oils used in the product. And if you want to use it on your own poor scalp, feel free! I haven't noticed any ill effects from doing so. I don't even smell like wet dog! Heh heh... eh.

Anyway, as far as how it works, as best I can tell it works fine. Cleans the hair without stripping. Doesn't leave hideous amounts of residue. Smells nice in an understated way. Seems to lather okay, though you have to make sure you have plenty of water in the hair/fur or it won't work real well. It does everything to hair that a shampoo is supposed to, and at least you're not paying for water. Or an eclectic mix of ingredients that may leave Mr. Fluffy with a massive rash, whilst leaving you wondering which one of the 30+ chemicals are irritating the poor fellow. If Mr. fluffy is allergic to this soap, figuring out which of the roughly 16 ingredients it is should be a little easier.

The only real problem with this soap bar is that, as a previous reviewer mentioned, it's pretty small. And while it'll last you a while (mitigating the cost quite a bit), I can't even imagine trying to soap a large dog with a palm-sized bar of soap. They really should have made the bar a little bigger, considering it's going to be used to clean an animal entirely covered in hair... Plus the lathering power declines quite a bit in hard water. So if you were planning on washing your King-Sized-Hairy-Whatever with bar shampoo, you may want to shop elsewhere. If you just want to clean Mr. Chihuahua up however, you'll be fine regardless. Unless Mr. Chihuahua weighs 100 lbs and has a thick double coat. And is a Chihuahua/German Shepherd mix. And isn't really a chihuahua anywhere but your imagination. In fact, I can really only guarantee that this bar will soap a head-sized animal with any ease. But it will get your dog clean. It just may not be the easiest clean you've ever achieved.

I have been using liquid shampoo for my beloved Mini Schnauzer and end up using a lot to get him clean. Many of the shampoos have a strong scent which neither I nor my dog appreciate. This soap has a nice fresh scent which doesn't linger once he's dried and it doesn't take much to get him lathered up. It does easily rinse out and leaves his coat nice and soft without using conditioner. That said, the bar is somewhat smaller than it appears to be in the picture, about 3/4" high and a little less than 3" in diameter. For $10.00, it's a small bar of soap but when you consider that a bottle of shampoo costs about the same maybe it evens out. Offer it with free shipping if you buy more than $25 and you've got a good deal! Amazon, you should carry this product and promote it.

Nubian Heritage Goat's Milk & Chai Bar Soap

I bought this soap three days ago and I already feel a difference in my skin. My skin feels soft, smooth and moisturized. The natural ingredients did not irritate my skin( I even used it on my face and I have extremely sensitive skin) and left a light, pleasant smell. I don't know how this will work in the long run but so far, so good!

I like the soap because it does have a woodsy scent and is in a hard bar soap shape. However, I see that it was made in New York so I am not so sure it is really the authentic African Black Soap--next time I will try the 1 lb. brick of soap made in Ghana.

I had to amend my review from three stars to five because after using it up--both my husband and I love it and I am buying more! I have never had soap that takes makeup off sooo well--even waterproof mascara. It does not sting! We also notice that our skin is soft and I have not had to use lotion! I really, really like this soap. I notice that the name is different now, so I hope the soap has not changed in anyway.

This soap is amazing. I give it five stars for the following reasons:

1) First, the smell -If strong scents easily overwhelm you, this bar is one to try. It has a subtle sweet smell. I look ridiculous smelling my bar of soap but it just smells delightful.

2) When other soaps fail to treat your skin issues, Nubian Heritage does not -Most people try this soap because of skin issues, including skin sensitivity issues. I am very sensitive to most cleansing products; my face becomes a dry, itching mess quite easily. I also still contend with pimples. This soap helps control my acne without turning my face into a dry, red mess.

3) Your skin was soft once and will be again -This soap has phenomenal moisturizing properties. It feels great on your skin. I don't have to apply baby oil or moisturizing body lotion because this soap does it all. If your hair becomes dry during particular periods of the year, try washing your hair with this bar rather than using hot oils or protein soaks.

4) Ingredients you can pronounce -I don't want dyes or heavy chemicals in anything I use but especially on my face. This soap has a straightforward ingredient list.

I actually bought this soap from a local store since I didn't want to wait and pay shipping. Same brand though, love Nubian Heritage products. This soap is divine. I also use the black soap which is drying so I use the coconut papaya one after I rince off the black soap because it seems to conditions the skin and my skin is less dry. Using the two together has been wonderful. I have 20 year old stretch marks from childbirth that are fading! Anything that can do that is a winner in my book. I thought I would be stuck with those for life and never really tried to do away with them since I thought it was a lost cause. Clearly Natural Glycerine Soap - Unscented

My husband sometimes has skin irritations and has found that this is one of the few products that work for him.

I unfortunately have super sensitive skin. It is also unfortunately very oily. So, I have to have a soap that is very gentle so I can wash regularly.

Sebamed Soap-free Cleansing Bar For Sensitive Skin, 3.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

Let me start by saying that I've used this product for about 5 years now. I intend to use it for the rest of my life.

In the past, prior to my finding out about this soap, I've tried all sorts of stuff, from things like ProActive to even more expensive brands that were imported from France which I cannot remember the name of. Nothing worked for my face and it would always cause irritation and sometimes more acne. For whatever reason, this soap is extremely gentle for people with sensitive skin and it didn't dry out my face like how some other facial cleansers might.

All in all, if you've got acne problems and you've tried literally EVERYTHING, or find that you get irritations from your current facial cleaners, give this bar-soap a try. I'd recommend using one entire bar-soap through before coming to a conclusion of whether it works for you or not. The biggest problem with facial cleaners is that it's all about finding the right thing that your skin will agree with (e.g., some people just use body soap to wash their faces!).

My grandson as an infant had very patchy dry skin and even the Doctor remarked to my daughter to use more lotion. A nurse I work with recommended Sebamed and it is great. No medicine smell, lathers nicely. My grandchildren are 5 and 7 and still use it. Worth giving it a try.

Oatmeal & Almond Bar Soap Yardley 4.25 Oz Soap for Unisex 1 Bar

I've been using Yardley oatmeal & almond soap for over 30 years, but it's impossible to find in stores around here anymore. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, so I order 12 bars at a time. The dense bars do not melt away, so 1 bar lasts my husband & I and entire month and we shower twice a day!

I must be very careful about the soaps I use or I'll break out. This soap seems to not cause that problem. It has the most feint scent of almond. But it has never caused a problem.

The soap is a good size, it fits nicely in your hand. It has only the feintest scent of almond. It has little bits of oatmeal (or something like that) which scrape slightly. I like this, but if you want perfectly smooth soap then you may not.

The soap lasts a normal amount of time.

It's a good product.

Proraso Shave Soap Jar

Short review:

Used with Proraso Pre-Shave Cream and a blade, nothing will give you a closer shave. Your face will be baby smooth all day. You will need a shaving brush too.

Long review:

I bought this because a reviewer said it was better than the Proraso shaving cream in a tube and that reviewer was right. Compared to Proraso cream in the tube, which is still better than anything in a can, this stuff gives me instant lather and is thinner on the face and easier for the blade to get through. I've only tried the soap with Proraso Pre Shave Cream Menthol & Eucalyptus and my Gillette Fusion razor. It is by far the best, smoothest and closest shave I've ever had in my entire life. Nothing comes close. Looking forward to trying this soap with a new Norelco wet/dry I just ordered for shaving in the shower.

Having tried this soap, I will never go back to shaving foam or gel in a can ever again. The difference using the same blade is that dramatic. I find myself stroking my face way to often during the day in disbelief of how smooth my face feels. Boyishly smooth! I used to have 5 o'clock shadow by early afternoon. With the Proraso Pre-Shave Cream, this soap and a Gillette Fusion blade, I don't get 5 o'clock shadow until the next morning. Another thing I've noticed is that the lube strips on the Fusion blade are lasting longer.

You cannot go wrong with this product. Buy it along with the Proraso Pre Shave Cream and a brush.

I've used a few shaving soaps over the years with mediocre results but this one really surprised me. It lathers very well and really protects my sensitive skin. I've used it several times and always with good results. It seems to work a tiny bit better than the Van Der Hagen Glycerin Soap, which is also a great soap and quite a bit cheaper. These two soaps however are light years ahead of the Williams Mug Shaving Soap which I find to be pretty poor. I even prefer this shaving soap to a few of the many creams I've tried. Definitely give this soap a try.

I was bit skeptical when looking for a shaving soap that my sensitive skin on my face could handle. When you use this one you actually feel it going to work on your skin. Also seems like the soap is easily absorbed by the hairs, making them easier to cut. Smells nice. Also seems that it will last a long time. The possibility to cover it, store it and travel with it makes it a plus as well. Definitely buy if you've tried other shaving soaps and have cut yourself a lot because of skin sensitivity.

Been DE shaving for about 1.5 years so I have not tried many soaps; as a full-time grad student, I need to be cost-conscious. I was using and was satisfied with Col. Conk shaving soaps, but wanted to try to upgrade w/o spending much more. This Proraso does seem to give me a better lather than the Col. Conk and seems to work well on my "sensitive skin." Still, not a great lather when compared to a premium shaving soap, but if this is your budget, it works well for what it is. I will order again unless my budget increases:)

Rainbow Research Antibacterial Soap

This is fine; it's truly unscented and gentle enough that I can use it several times a day. It's wonderfully priced for a 12-ounce bottle. But I took the description here on Amazon at its word that it was antibacterial without reading the ingredients until after I'd already received it. There is no active, antibacterial ingredient in it. I'm disappointed; I was initially thrilled to find an antibac liquid hand soap that didn't stink to high heaven and trigger another one of my migraines. But there's nothing in it that kills bacteria. I'll finish it, but I'll check the ingredients before buying the next one (if one exists: I may just go with antibac dishwashing liquid.)

This hand soap is exactly as it was described. It does not dry out my hands and is safe to use. I will recommend the product to those that prefer a natural form of liquid soap.

Dr Bronner's Citrus Castile Liquid Soap

I love this liquid soap...I have been using Dr. Bonner's peppermint castile liquid soap for years...Recently I found a small bottle of the citrus soap at Whole Foods...thus started my change over to the citrus products by Dr. Bonner...including his hand soap. I use the citrus liquid soap daily in the shower. I love the crisp lemon scent, and always feel wonderfully clean...I like to buy the larger containers of the soap to save money, and to make sure I always have it on hand...(I transfer the soap to a smaller container to use in the shower). One word of caution about this liquid style of soap...and the bottle warns you..(if you can get through all of the reading material on the label!)...don't transfer the soap into a pump bottle, unless you want to be wearing it on your clothes, or cleaning up the walls...it tends to congeal in the pump mechanism, and will not consistently pump in the correct manner...(an understatement)...I have found that the one gallon containers are more difficult to find, but it is worth the effort...Amazon always has some dealers who carry Dr.Bonner line of products...and the service is wonderful...

The last few years, my family of two has ordered a gallon of Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap, which lasts the entire year. We use it as a shower gel, shaving gel, dog shampoo, and people shampoo. I admit, this was an impulse purchase! There's realy nothing special about these soaps other than fact that they're all natural and smell nice which means they will dry your skin out most of the time. I use them but I wont be ordering them again, not worth the price espceially when it's a average sized soap bar. I'd rather buy Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba Oil Triple-Milled Soap and really get my moneys worth with real moisturizing properties.

Life-Flo Detox Soap

To be honest, it's a little disconcerting at first to use this soap because the water streaming off of you is black, but I haven't had any problem with staining and I love the soap! It is so moisturizing, and my skin feels very clean and refreshed after I use it. There is a light scent to the soap, but it doesn't linger after you're done with it.

This is a very good soap for your face. It cleans without stripping and drying. It does turn your washcloth black, though.

The claim that this soap "cleanses and detoxifies your entire body" is bogus and probably not completely legal. It may help wash away toxins from the outer layer of skin, but so will any soap out there.

Next statement :"If you were to look at active charcoal under a magnifier, you would see tiny, super sponges that effectively soak up virtually all impurities that pass through it."

So what? Activated (not active, is this even the real thing?) charcoal absorbs toxins from the body when taken internally. If you were to look at this charcoal under a microscope you would also see the "tiny, super sponges" clogged with soap, impeding absorption. Why would I care if the charcoal absorbs anything on my external skin layer when it's being rinsed off my skin and going down the drain anyway? (which is going to happen when I use any soap, with or without charcoal.)

"Zinc, a natural antibacterial, soothes, aids healing, and can reduce inflammation."

Yes, but in the quantities that is in this bar of soap? Also, it reduces inflammation when taken internally. Are you suggesting we eat your soap so we get the charcoal and zinc benefits?

Got it, it dissolves in water and is small.

Pre de Provence Agrumes Soap, 250g wrapped bar. Imported from France. With shea butter and natural

I recently found this soap at a novelty shop while on vacation. It looked appealing because I used a similar smaller bar of soap at a recent four-star hotel. I decided to give it a try, being twice as large a normal store-bought bar of soap. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality to price ratio. You get a lot of good, silky, smooth, non-filming soap for your money. I find that many silky soaps tend to be made just for women, and they can leave a scent and lotion-like feel that I particularly do not like. I like it to feel soapy while showering, feel like it's cleaning, but once I rinse off, I want the soap gone. This is one of the few soaps that have done this really well. My wife and now try to only buy these bars in bulk as our main soap. It's just really a nice, smooth and all wash off soap that's appealing after all the heavy scented soaps I have used in the past.

If you want a clean smelling soap that moisturizes, lathers well and rinses clean, then look no further. Pre de Provence soaps are the best. They sell ones with more scent but this one is light, like a breath of fresh air. Love, love love it!!!

Irish Spring still has their original, so I went back to this.
