I was so excited to use this soap when I saw the other rave reviews. Sadly I used the product and for about a month or so, there was no change. Actually there was, I got darker! I was using the soap along with the cream and neither product worked. I have been using this product for almost 2 years now and my skin tone is even, and any marks I had are completely faded. I have replaced my regular soap with this and will not use any other product. I swear by it.

Yardley English Lavender French milled soap has a true lavender fragrance and makes a very nice lather. The bar lasts quite some time and it will last even longer if it is aged for a few months prior to use (although it will lose some of the smell) so I usually unwrap it and place it in my dresser drawers and linen closet where it gives a clean, delicate scent to the items stored there.Not only is this a good quality soap, it is readily available and is much less expensive than soap of similar quality imported from Europe. The English Rose and and especially the Lemon Verbena scents are also quite nice but the lavender remains my favorite. If you have stuck with Ivory and have never used a French milled soap, give this a try. Highly recommended.

I am AA and I bought this to even out my skin tone a little. I did use 2 of the three bars and did not see any results. The soap is very drying so it would make me 'ashy' until I moisterized. I can't say that I saw any results during the time I used it. I did only use once a day when showering or bathing in the morning so perhaps I didn't use it long enough or frequently enough? It did have a pleasant smell.

I got this in order to help my 22 month old son's moderate eczema. I wanted something natural, free of toxins, and gentle. This fits the bill. Goat's milk and oatmeal help a lot, so this seems to be the next best thing to giving him edible baths... and you don't even have to scrub the tub afterwards!We just got this today, so we've only used this once. However, not only did it not exasperate the problem, his outbreak patches actually seem a bit softer already! We follow this up with calendula oil, aloe, and coconut oil. This soap has a pleasant, fresh, old fashioned 'soap' smell. Very gentle and clean. Yay for handmade soap!Don't be too put off by the shipping price. It's actually a larger than average bar. If you use natural/organic products regularly, you're no stranger to paying $10+ on bodywash. Bars last a lot longer than liquid, anyway. Shipping was faster than expected, too.
If you're dealing with eczema, then you know it's an uphill battle. I'll update this in two months to let you know how our regimen is going. So far, recommended!

I read about this soap mostly on the internet from a few users who seem to have had excellent results with it. I am an ezcema sufferer so I was looking for a soap that could be used as a general facial and body soap,and also one which could take care of my ezcema when it "flaired" it. I purchased this soap quite recently,and now I am a true believer. Granpa's Pine Tar Soap has a very strong pine smell, but when you get past the smell it's really great! It lathers on white and leaves your skin feeling and smelling clean all day. I used to use Dove unscented, but the results were not as outstanding as with Grandpa's pine tar soap. I've even started shampooing my hair with it and it does leave my hair and scalp soft and "squeeky" clean. I know I will continue to use this soap as my ezcema has not broken out for awhile; the soap seems to keep it under control. I am true believer in Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap for life.

This soap cleans, moisturizes, and dries it out. I know right!
I then put some "sea buckthorn oil" on it at night.

I love this campfire smelling soap. Be advised it does have a strong pine, smokey odor but it does not have that lingering smell after you use it. My skin is much smoother and moisturized after an ice shower or bath. This soap does not have a strong pine scent so it is very usable. Have been using pine tar soap for some time now and really enjoy it and it has helped the healing process of the numerous scrapes and cuts that I get working in the yard and garden.

This soap is really nice, it smells awesome, as good as the Nag Champa. This soap isn't drying to my skin, which is a big deal because I couldn't find a soap that didn't dry my skin out for years. It lathers up well, and smells great, the smell doesn't last all that long, but show me a soap that lingers and doesn't dry out your skin. The only complaint I have about this, is that it is a smaller soap, it's about the size of a zest bar, and for 5 dollars, I mean, that's kind of expensive. If it were priced a little lower, I would buy a lot more of it. Good buy all in all though.

Bronner's products are about as "pure" as you can get so for cleaning those very sensitive areas, this is the soap of choice. Nothing harsh and the new scents are very pleasant.
Kirks Castile Soap, 4 oz
My search for the perfect soap is completely over! Kirks Original Castile Soap is the best you can buy! I truly do not care for wacky body soaps with scents. They never seem to get your skin clean.Several friends kept telling me that this was the best however no one around here sells it so I was never able to try it. I just happened upon it in Cracker Barrel and picked up a bar.
Oh my! The lather was unbelievable! The scent was clean and not overpowering! My skin felt nourished and clean! I even washed my hair with it and it left a clean shine to my hair. It was an answer to a prayer years in the making from a search for the perfect soap. No more will I buy anything else!
If you buy this by the case unwrap each bar and store them in you linen closet. The longer soap sits out to "dry" the longer it lasts. Most soap is milled and used too quickly to properly dry. It will make your closet smell fresh plus the soap will properly dry and cure. Dry soap will last several more months than soap that is not dry.
Do yourself a favor and start using this soap! Some people even make their laundry soap with Kirks Original Castile Soap.
Note that you may be able to find this cheaper locally, (much, much cheaper) but it'd still be worth every penny they're asking for here.

Look no further. This is by far the best soap you can buy. It's creamy and soft. I have used all kinds of soap for my face and my son introduced me to Kirk's Castile about 4 years ago. Since the 1st time I tried it, I have used no other. I am an older woman and would never want to dry out my face. This is the best soap EVER! I can't believe it isn't a best selling soap. It is the best lathering soap, with a silky clean feel. It has a mild, clean smell and no extra perfumes or chemicals.I am sorry it has disappeared from stores. Is it the label that turns people off? It can't be the product, unless people are looking for chemicals and strong smells.

i got this bc i have dreads and needed a nice, natural soap that would be easily rinsed out, given the hard water we have in my area... and it worked great!! smells really good, not strong just a slight nice refreshing clean scent, i was able to add EO's (i shaved off a few pieces and made a dilluted liq shampoo) into it and now it smells even more WONDERFUL!!!got here fast! very pleased and i definitely recommend to anyone!
