Burt's Bees Milk & Shea Body Bar (2pk) 8 oz

The soap is great, but the listing is misleading. This is a two pack of the 4-oz bars, not the 8-oz bars.

This is definitely a good bar of soap. I use a couple other Burts Bees products and thought I would try this one. The only changes I would make if I were BBs is to increase the size of the bar a little and reduce the price some. I will probably use it again, but one of thier other products, which I have used regularly for some years, just shrunk in size. Not a good sign, but we'll see how things go. Hope this helps.

CAMAY CLASSIC OZ BATH BAR (3-pack) 4.0 OZ BARS.

The new Camay doesn't smell quite the same as the old, beloved, cult favorite Camay. The soap is soft and gentle as it ever was. It's still pale pink and pretty, and the suds are soft and rich. I was happy to find it at Amazon -the price is lower than it is elsewhere -and I'll order it again. But that wonderful old fragrance will just have to stay a fond childhood memory.

I may be one of the few people out there that feels strongly about bar soap. While I don't want a soap to dry out my skin (who would?), I also want it to actually clean me (doesn't seem to much to ask). I think most soaps go one way or the other (ie beauty bars are moisturizing, yet either leave a film on your skin... or you deodorant gets left behind; some soaps are just too harsh!). Camay was all my grandmother used, and I guess she knew what she was doing. And, it may be pink, but my husband says that's the only girly thing about it (ie, it doesn't smell overly perfumey). Happy I can find it on Amazon, as it's often not available in our local stores.

Seasons Dulhan Henna Powder

I buy this for $1.99 at Indian grocery. This henna was within date, but approaching the expiration. The addition of alma in this henna mix means that this darkens as well as dyes your hair red. This is nice because lighter brown hair turns more mahogany or copper than orange.

I use this henna to make a strong gloss. I add a tablespoon of lemon to several tablespoons of powder and add conditioner until it becomes a thick yogurt-like consistency. I have tried using this powder without and acid twice, but the color change was too subtle. Now I add lemon and leave the paste in for an hour to add a red tint to my light-medium brown hair. I don't really like the smell of this paste, so adding an essential oil to the mix might be a nice touch. I plan to use lavender oil in the future.

**Remember to always to a test strand before using a new package of henna or using a different vinegar source.

Farmers Carbolic Soap - Good Old Fashioned Cleanser For Farmers & Vets

I believe calling it carbolic soap is a deception. The disinfectant in it, and what it smells like, is Lysol. Which, to the best of my knowledge, can be obtained anywhere. I purchased this soap under the impression that it was made from a carbolic acid or phenol base.

I was very disappointed with this product. It smells very strongly of Lysol, and I suspect I could make a comparable product with a soap base, black walnut hull, food coloring, and lysol. I do not believe this soap has either carbolic acid or phenol in it, because there was no indication of such a thing on the ingredients list. The smell of the soap is so strong that it has to be locked away in a freezer bag after each use.

They should have called it Lysol soap, that would have been a more appropriate name for it. To the best of my knowledge, there's nothing like carbolic soap available in the contiguous United States. However, if you like the fresh smell of lysol and are unable to find a pumice stone, scrunchie sponge, or scrub brush, this soap is for you. The ground walnut shell would apear to be the major selling feature of this product which gives the soap the consistency of sand paper.

Were I to recommend a bar of soap that made me feel cleaner, I would choose, Zest, Zote, Old Spice, Irish Spring, or something from the Venezia Soap works line. As a man, I like to get messy. And, when I wash I use: three bars of soap, three bottles of shampoo, I shave with scissors, not to mention I have a separate trimmer for my beard and cranium protector. This product seemed ideal, unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations.

4711 Cream Soap Unisex 3.5 oz.

Last year could not find this available anymore and heard rumors 4711 or Mulherins was going out of business. The soap is back and seems to be the same as before with even higher quality packaging (each soap in a cardboard box rather than paper wrapped). This soap cleans well, leaves no filmy or oily feel on the skin (rinses clean), in not harsh or drying, and has a light fresh scent. The bar has a pleasing shape that isn't too large and fits just right in the palm of the hand, and stays fresh and hard and fragrant until the last little sliver of it is used up. Extremely high quality. Its one of life's little luxuries that I try to keep on hand whenever its available (to save a little on shipping, I order half a dozen bars at once). I've been using this product nonstop since the 1970's and I hope it will always be around.

The soap smells good but I paid too much. As of the writing of this review, it appears that Tuccini sells a 3 pack of what appears to be the same item for less than the 1 bar price. Don't repeat my mistake. Make sure you're getting the three pack and save some $.

This product is not available in Japan, so every time I travel to the States, I buy a dozen or so of these both to use at home and to give to friends as a gift. It has a very clean--not exactly sweet--but irresistible scent. Even though they are heavy to bring home with me in my suitcase, I will gladly take the trouble to enjoy this in my Japanese bath.

AHAVA Purifying Mud Soap Bath Soaps

This is a great mud soap. It goes on easily, and cleans purely. I've only used it on my face, and always loved how my skin felt after using it. It never dried out my skin, and there was always a soft feel after washing. If you want a great purifying mud soap, I've found this one to be excellent, and long lasting too!

This soap smells nice but hasn't created a noticeable difference in my skin except drying it out a little more than usual. This is not an oily skin cure so if thats what you are looking for go see a dermatologist because this is just plain old soap if you ask me. It is only good because it doesn't OVERLY dry my skin like regular soaps do and it doesn't irritate my skin either, so thats a plus. I just don't think I'd go out of my way to order this again because it didn't work any miracle for me that I can't go to the store and buy(oatmeal soap or something along those lines).

Victoria R.S. Swedish Birch Leaf Soap on a Rope - 200 gr. Bar

This is great soap! I bought it as a nice "gotta have soap on a rope" stocking stuffer, but wound up being pleased with the soap. Great quality, and I would buy it again just for the soap. It has a very fresh smell, not perfumed, but fresh "birch"; imagine yourself in the forest of Sweden.

The rope is short; enough to put on a wrist, but not really made to hang in the shower.

Overall, strongly recommend for the soap itself!

Mor Cosmetics Pomegranate Bath Soaps

I got mine at Marshall's for $4.99 without s/h costs. I love this soap. It's a medium sized red-colored bar and smells definitely of pleasant pomegranate & berries, a VERY pleasant long-lasting fragrance inside and outside the bath with only a faint fragrance of detergent. The lather is decent and the texture of the soap is soft enough that I love it. It's a premium soap made in Beverly Hills, California, triple-milled and made with Vitamin E with shea butter to moisturize the skin and the soap is definitely moisturizing and it hasn't been tested on animals. It has an artistic attractive design for packaging.

There are definitely better bargain soaps that are just as good quality soaps out there, especially if you want organic, but if you've got the deep pockets and/or a chance to get it on sale, I would definitely recommend it as a gift (as long as the ones you're giving it to are non-allergic), aromatherapy, and as an everyday soap.

As with any soap, if you want to have it last longer, keep it away from water and get a soapholder with holes on the bottom so the water doesn't stay to liquefy the soap.
