This is a good soap for cleaning and some moisturizing, but the scented qualities are overrated. After the first use, I could barely smell it at all, even when held up to my nose. Perhaps this was an old bar that had been sitting around at Amazon for some time? Method Hand Soap, 12-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)
These soaps work really hard, but they don't strip your hands dry like other soaps can. To illustrate: my husband's a doctor, so we're really conscientious about washing our hands after every little thing; some soaps can take a toll on your skin pretty quickly with frequent use. Add to that the fact that I wasn't prepared for how dry the winters get around here (having just moved from Memphis), so my hands got painfully chapped and cracked until I switched to Method soaps. They didn't strip my hands, but they also weren't impossible to rinse off like some "moisturizing" soaps. They leave the natural oils in my skin, so my hands actually have a fighting chance!I've been a big fan of Method products for a while now, but also worth mentioning is that my mother-in-law was wowed by them when she recently visited. She's no stranger to high-ticket products, so when she started gushing about the soap in my bathroom and asking where in the world I found it, I knew Method had cracked the code. This stuff is easily the best you'll find at the local supermarket, and it could probably hold its own against some of the boutique products out there.
One (semi-) downside: I can't get the refills locally. That's ok, though, since it gives me a chance to try all of the great scents they have!
Pink grapefruit hand soap is an effective and gentle product that cleans well with no sudsing action. It has a very noticeable grapefruit smell, it will seem fresh and energizing to some, but will (naturally) repulse those who don't like the scent of grapefruit. While there are no articifial scents, and the grapefruit scent is not harsh or overpowering, it is definitely not fragrance-free.
The soap contains "naturally-derived, biodegradable ingredients and contain vitamin E and aloe." However, their website (methodhome.com) informs us also that "for intellectual property reasons we do not give out the specific names of the chemicals we use." For various reasons, this is not an antibacterial soap (for example, method believe that antibacterial soap is not necessary given 20 seconds of washing with an non-antibacterial soap, that overuse of such ingredients might lead to increased bacteria resistance, and that these agents biodegrade more slowly than others--see website for more information). Bottom line: If grapefruit is OK with you, this is an excellent product that gets the job done with little or no environmental impact.

Method products and ad campaigns are usually very attractive. It's difficult to find the range of products and scents available. Even at Target it's hard to find Sweet Water. Because it's clear, it fits any decor and the smell is quite wonderful. Also, I much prefer this version to the same thing in foaming hand wash. I got hooked on to Method Hand Wash a long time ago, when Costco sold multi-packs. The bottle looks good in our guest bathrooms, and the soap smells nice. Costco long ago stopped carrying it, and local stores sometimes do, sometimes don't. When they do, it is expensive. I assumed when I bought this that the larger bar was the same size as the usual large bar (250g) of Pre de Provence Soap. It is not, it is a 6.3oz, which is 178g. A small bar with an even smaller bar tied to it with a ribbon.Not worth the high price. 250g for $6.49 or 178g for $10.00
Dr. Bronner's Almond Soap 32oz
Dr. Bronner's is really fantastic stuff! I keep find more and more uses for it around the house. We've gotten to the point that we have replaced all of our toxic synthetic chemical products with this! The only thing I find it terrible for is washing windows, it leaves a film and you spend more time removing the film than the dirt! Otherwise, this stuff can easily replace 6-10 products around the home.Almond is my favorite for a nice mild and pleasing scent! Be warned of the Peppermint, even though the peppermint is natural, it is extremely strong smelling. So strong, it can cause irritation for some people. I tried to use it on my floors, while it cleaned incredibly well, it nearly ran us out of the house the smell was so strong. This is even with me diluting it to a massive degree. I would recommend Peppermint for hand soap, dishes, laundry, anything outdoors. But would use something like Unscented, Lavender or Almond for general house cleaning, body soap and shampoo.
We also found this product is fantastic for cleaning our italian leather furniture! Normally we have to buy expensive solutions to effectively clean it while not damaging the leather. This stuff works perfect on it. If you use this in the bathroom for hand soap you don't need any air fresheners after you have a bowel movement. The peppermint quickly overtakes any other odors. We now use Bronner's for cleaning our jet tubs. Before they were very difficult to clean because you cannot use abrasive chemicals, but Dr. Bronner's practically melts the grim and dirt right off them!
Finally, I have dry skin. Up to this point I have been using Ivory Soap and it is horrible on my skin. A couple days of using Bronners and my skin is back to being normal! I love how this product rinses off so easily and leaves no films.

I have been enjoying using Dr. Bronner's soaps for a few years now. I do not use it much for skin or hair as I find it to be a little drying for me (although if I'm out of body wash, I'll use it in a pinch). I do use it for many other cleaning jobs, including laundry, with very good results. The shampoo itchies drove into the arms of Dr. Bronner. The first time I used Dr. Bronner's Baby Castile Soap on my hair, I had that sinking feeling in my stomach upon rinsing...my hair felt soooo sticky. No time to start all over, so I just slathered on some creme rinse. Words can not convey my surprise when I rinsed the 'rinse' and then stood in front of the mirror. Even wet, my hair has life and body in it; then when it dries, the results are soft, managable, and oh the curls. Nothing to date has even given me these results. As for toothpaste, well...50 years of commercial toothpaste has warped my perceptions but I am willing to learn (slowly). Clearly Natural Liquid Soap Unscented With Pump
Most "unscented" products have some faint scent added to them, but this label is honest. If you dislike having smelling hands after attempting to wash them clean, then I recommend giving this soap a try.The soap itself cleans skin just fine. It's also thick enough to not squirt out of the dispenser. (I've tried some soaps that can actually overshoot when dispensed)
The pump on the dispenser is on the cheap side, but works just fine. If you want a smooth pump, then pouring this soap into a preferred dispenser is always an option.
I have yet to see a liquid soap that's not vegan. But to be clear, this soap does not contain stearic acid (usually an animal product).

Glycerine Bar Soap - Aloe Vera, 4 oz ( Multi-Pack)
I have always had sensitive skin. My arms also tend to be red and splotchy. Since changing to this soap my arms are now soft and the red is going away. My skin feels and looks so much better. I love that the smell is not loud but very nice and natural. We are about out of my first order and I ordered a lot more. I have had no problems with it flaking at all.

Sometimes Clearly Natural soaps flake off pieces. Mostly happens with Lemon (in my experience) but this bar of Aloe Vera is sloughing off shards, which go directly down the drain... not very cost effective.
