I have used Savon de Marseille as a shampoo for decades (it's legendary in France for making your hair shiny) and am so grateful that now that I no longer live in Europe it is still easy to find on line and affordable. The dry version lasts a very long time and I prefer it but as long as it is the original centuries old variety (I don't use the newer scented varieties) I'm a happy girl!

Wonderful soap overall, not as drying as other castile soaps and helps get rid of body pimples. Not the best I've ever used, however. It's still a tiny bit drying and doesn't smell the best. However, it's one of the best performing soaps I've used so far regardless.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Liquid Soap

I have been using this hand soap in Master and Guest bath for 2 years. The bottle is so elegant and classy. For my decor I love the Amber colored soap and the dark navy label. The soap is really the color of Russian liquid amber. But, pretty only half does it..the soap has to be exceptional for this price, and it is!! It has a light lemon smell. My husband likes it, and he is the first to complain if it is too "girly". Just a light, crisp lemon verbena scent. It moisturizes the hands, and you only need a couple drops to wash up well. It lasts me 6 months in the guest bath, and I have 5 grandkids using it several times a week each.

I've been using this brand for years, and smells so good I'd practically dab it behind my ears! I even wash undies in it. The color and label are lovely, as another reviewer said. So happy to find it here. The moisturizer is grand, too.

I have eczema that acts up from time to time. This soap was amazing and the eczema was gone shortly after using the soap. My skin is usually dry all the time and this soap does an excellent job moisturizing. Creates a nice rich lather, makes hair smoother than regular shampoo, only has natural essential oils. The only minus is that it itches in the eyes, while an organic regular tea tree shampoo does not.

The sole review when I tried this shampoo soap stated that it left a gummy residue behind. I decided to take shot, since I prefer shampoo bars over bottles that have to be manufactured and recycled (and you can never get all of it out of the bottle...). For me this shampoo bar has been great. The first time I used it the texture did seem strange on my hair, but that must have been an interaction with what I was using before; every shampoo since has left my hair soft and clean with no residue that I can feel. It's lasting well in the shower, and I'm very happy with it. For those with scent-sitivities, however, note that the rosemary oil (at least in my bar) is very strong-smelling in the shower. I like it, but it might be too strong for you. I have not noticed a strong smell remaining on my hair after rinsing. I'm hoping Amazon continues to carry this shampoo bar as a Prime item.
