"Big Ass Brick of Soap" Smells Like Productivity

I LOVE this soap. Now my wife has started using it and she says it's her favorite soap ever (and she's picky). However, I have to cut it in half to fit her dainty hands, so she calls it 'a half-ass brick of soap'.

it is quite bigger than it looks in the picture. the size of this bar is about 2-3 times bigger than a regular store bought bar of soap!! the scent is not as strong as most big brand soaps which is perfect....i hate smelling like a daisy anyways. you can use this as a shampoo, face wash, and body wash because what man needs 3+ products to clean his body? right?

Dr. Bronner'S Magic Soap Travel Organic Liquid Soap

After losing hair for well over a year, and finally pinning the blame on a daily clarifying shampoo with high amounts of Sodium Laurel Sulfate, I began researching ingredients with which to make my own shampoo. Liquid glycerine is my main base -I get it on Amazon, too --(Liquid Glycerine Soap Unscented Refill 32 oz Liquid, and I add Dr. Bronner's Castile Liquid Soap Organic, Citrus (one part) plus water (one part). It is an excellent cleansing shampoo with no harsh chemicals, and I am losing much less hair on this formulation. When I finally got desperate (2 months ago -losing hair in the shower, more upon subsequent "rinse and repeats," which I did three times as my hair is oily), it was coming out at an alarming rate. Now, it is back to my normal, tolerable amount -no panic in the bathroom anymore. (I've tried several sulfate-free shampoos but either they didn't clean well or had hidden sulfates -I suspected -because my hair loss resumed after using them. My backup is Neutragena Original Bar Soap, because it also cleans well with no hair loss, although it has more chemicals than my "homemade" liquid soap.) I'm a lover of the citrus scent, and this particular fragrance doesn't disappoint. It's long-lasting and makes an economical shampoo that I can trust to be healthy for my hair and body (makes an excellent body wash, too). This shampoo *can* be drying if you have long, highlighted hair like I do, so I follow it with Pantene Conditioner (conditioners have no Sodium Laurel Sulfate in them), which I leave on for a few minutes while I shave my legs, and afterwards, my hair is clean and soft.

(this refers to dr.bronner's soaps in general as opposed to this specific 2 oz packaging)

great if you have a septic system as this soap will not do anything detrimental to the natural processes...

& a little tip for those who find the peppermint a bit intense:

mix it 1/2 & 1/2 with the almond scent (which for me can be a bit sweet on its own)

together they make a minty-sweet shower experience that is delightful & refreshing... yum~ like washing with a peppermint candy~!

clean & natural without adding anything terrible to the environment...

Lemon Eucalyptus Kosher Soap 250g bar by The Star of David

This huge lemon yellow, fine milled bar of soap looks like your grandmother's castile soap for hand-washing clothes (anyone remember?), but there the comparison ends. Its top ingredients are lemon oil and eucalyptus, and when you first receive the soap in its fancy wrapper, the fragrance is very evident. However, once you begin washing with it, the soap is absolutely fragrance free, the lather is creamy and continuous, and leaves your skin feeling clean and soft afterward. I just love it and have already ordered the soap three times from Smallflower (super service), to have some in reserve in case they discontinue it, as I have never found these ingredients in a soap before. This is a great summer personal care product to help in the war on mosquitoes, I always find the lemon eucalyptus products to be effective bug repellents without the patio candle smell of citronella, and also without harsh chemical deet additives. A tip: this soap bar is about 2X the size of normal soaps, and it will not fit in a regular soap holder, so to prevent it getting waterlogged in the shower I paper towel dry it first, then put it in a quart size baggie, leaving it open to continue to air dry.

We are fans of this soap. No medicinal scent. It keeps pests from landing on our bodies .........& we also use it on our dogs. .......

I decuded to try ABS based on the reviews i'd read. i can honestly say that i agree; ABS is awesome! i bought it to use on my face. My facial skin is dry and sensitive it gives me the blues especially in the winter. In the winter its gotten so dry that it literally stings and it would breakout. It also became very irritated with any moisturizer I tried. I've been using ABS every day for a month now. My skin has cleared up and most of the dark spots caused by pimples are disappearing. My pores have gotten visibly smaller. i've even made a liquid soap to use in the shower. It makes your skin so soft and supple. This is the real deal, i recommend it to my friends. I'm going to try it as a shampoo as well. You may feel a light burning sensation when you first try it but after a couple of days it'll go away. if using it 2x a day feels drrying to your face, use it 1x a day. IMO, Natural Cosmetics has the best price, the largest selection, and excellent customer service.

The product is exactly as advertised. I've used this 'raw' soap for years and obviously am completely happy.

It is not smooth and creamy in texture like Dove, but it cleans wonderfully leaving no sticky feeling after drying off. I recomend using awashcloth or work up a lather in your hands.

DO NOT LEAVE THIS SOAP IN STANDING WATER. You have been warned.

I had no idea that African black soap existed, I must have missed the Dr Oz episode where he mentioned it, LOL! Anyway I've been using it for a few weeks now and I could not be more pleased. It is what I would define as an extreme exfoliator, but I have definitely noticed improvements in my skin already: my pores are smaller, sun spots on my face are not so dark, and believe it or not, the skin above my eyelids is tighter! I'm a 54 year old WF if that means anything, and do take excellent care of my skin, and eat healthy. Moisturizing afterwards is a must; something I've done all my adult life (it's quick in the mornings as you're getting ready for work) is apply baby oil right after I get out of the shower from the neck down, brush my teeth, and then dry off. This is much less time consuming than moisturizing with creams, which I reserve for the weekends. I actually use a variety of oils now (lemon oil, almond oil, shea oil, etc). My only concern at this point is if the black soap strips the skin too much, and does it upset the PH balance of our skin. If I find out, I'll come back & post any new info!

Caress makes great soap for the shower or even if you're merely washing your hands. Although I personally consider this product to be soap, officially it's a "moisturizing body bar" variant of soap in that it contains a good amount of moisturizers. Regular soap usually doesn't moisturize; and so Caress tries to set their product apart from soap when they advertise the moisturizing abilities of their product. Rest assured, however, that you will find this item where the rest of the soap is stocked in your grocery store.

The bars of soap are comparatively large but they don't slip out of your hands too easily; the shape of the bar helps you hold onto it. These bars of Caress soap do seem to truly help moisturize my skin when I use them to take a shower or wash my hands. I don't truly understand precisely how "silk proteins" and vitamin E work to moisturize my skin; but in the wintertime when my skin gets rather dry I sure do appreciate being able to use this soap!

The scent is mild but if you are sensitive or allergic to any scent you may want to use an unscented type of Caress soap or a different brand of soap. In addition, if any skin condition is a concern for you, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.

I really like Caress soap with its moisturizing ability. Caress is a bit more costly; but it's worth it if you want to pamper your dry skin in the shower or at the bathroom vanity sink.

This moisturizing soap is gentle, yet cleansing, and leaves a wonderful aroma after showering. I would certainly recommend it, especially for us senior gals with dry skin.

First off, we love Caress and I've purchased it through Amazon a couple of times. This is a great price over local stores if you can use mass quantities. The only issue I would like to mention is the scent of this particular selection. It is quite strong and pungent in my opinion. Fortunately, it dissipates quickly after you shower or bathe but I found it a bit overpowering initially. This is, of course, a personal opinion and my hubby has not complained, so consider it as that. I love the moisturizing qualities of the brand, especially in the dry, winter months, and have switched from being a committed Zest girl for that reason.

Lysol No Touch Twin Refill Kitchen System, 17 Ounce

As others have mentioned the refills are 5-20x the price of a large bottle of soft soap on sale. There is an easy fix to that.

CMT 529.095.31 Tenon and Plug Cutter 3/8-Inch

A plug cutter makes a perfect round hole that you can use to refil for pennies not dollars. You do need a drill press to use one. The fist modification I did I used regular drill bits and 3-4 steps in size up to half inch. That hole was nowhere near as perfect or easy as the plug cutter solution.

note: the 3/8 size makes a 1/2" hole. The 3/8 dimension is the inside.

Then to plug the hole I use an expanding plug like a boat uses to drain when pulled out of the water. I didn't know if the unit relies on vacuum to keep from leaking so I made a tight seal.

I already had the plug cutter and the expanding plug cost about the same as ONE refil so will pay for itself quickly.

I will just use a rubber test tube stopper on my next conversion.

Oh, what the heck Lysol? I purchased a Lysol "no touch" dispenser about 6 months ago and now I needed a refill. Purchased this item... but wait! It doesn't fit! Both products made by Lysol, both products say "no touch". But the refill bottle is reshaped just enough to not fit. It isn't a close fit -it is clearly meant to not fit. Oh, Lysol... why? Am I now expected to throw away the "old" dispenser and get a new one? The environment can take another hit I guess. Geez I haven't even recharged the batteries once yet.

This soap just left my face a little too tight after use and I felt drier than normal all day. I have combination skin and it was especially harsh on the dry spots.

I love Yardley soap so much, so I was thrilled to find a fragrance that I had never used before. Aloe and cucumber is one of my favorite fragrances, so when I found it in a Yardley soap bar, you can imagine how excited I was.

I love Yardly for so my reasons:

While this scent is not overpowering, it is heavenly, and unlike many other much more expensive soaps out there, the fragrance does not dissipate over time. Nor does this bar disappear in two weeks. I've been on the same bar now for a month. And as a previous reviewer noted, it's made from quality ingredients.
