Well,after reading many reviews on the product and seeing that overall it worked wonders on other peoples faces, I was expecting amazing results after using it a few times.I have moderate acne and have tried all kinds a facial cleansers,in which the only cleanser that actually worked for me was proactive,but its toner stung and dried out my face,leaving it gross and blotchy. This product didn't work for me at all, I don't know if maybe the stuff in it wasn't strong enough to get rid of my acne, but more acne came after using it,plus the acne it didn't get rid of was still there.So, with only a week left before school, I've decided to switch back to using Clean&Clear advantage acne control cleanser and my Clean&Clear persa gel 10.The benzoyl peroxide in both the cleanser and gel seems to be working by drying out my pimples.After my acne is conrolled, i'll maybe try to use the tea tree soap again with the thayers witch hazel toner I also bought to see if I get any better results.Until then,I'm sticking with my Clean&Clear!

Burt's Bees Honey & Shea Conditioning Body Bar is a lovely, honey-and-shea butter-filled natural bath soap. It lathers most luxuriously and cleanses well without stripping my skin of moisture or leaving behind a soapy film.The bar is big (5 oz) and doesn't melt into oblivion when wet (let it dry between uses). I purchased it at Walgreens for $2.69 (on clearance). It usually costs usually $5 or so. I bought it on a whim but I like is so much I might try it again!

I have very acne prone skin, or at least I did have very acne prone skin until I discovered tea tree oil. These soap bars smell very nice and feel good on my face but more importantly since I've been using them to wash my face each night and then applying the actual oil to my problem areas, 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil + FREE Blemish Roll-on Stick with Tea Tree Oil, I have been 99% acne-free 99% of the time since I began this routine. This is a great soap! Smells wonderful and lathers nicely. I was looking for a soap with tea tree oil, but wanted to find one that smells good, as tea tree oil on it's own does not smell very nice. I intitally used this soap for acne,it doesn't have alot of the harsh chemicals like other soaps do. After a few days I noticed I started to break out more. Might have been because of the coconut or palm oil which can be comedogenic. I still use this as a bath soap though, smells great and has alot of natural ingredients.Want Nubian Heritage Bar Soap Discount?
It's a little drying but I love the scent. I wash my face with it and notice I had less acne so I will continue to buy this product

Four stars because I love this soap. It gives you wonderful, thick lather and the natural scents will take you to nirvana. I look forward to bathing/washing my hands constantly just to smell the soap. I take off one star because I don't really like the squares; the sharp edges hurt my arthritic hands. Also, some of the formulas are more drying than you would expect (citrus for one). You just can't go wrong with patchouli or eucalyptus; wish they had peppermint instead of spearmint.

African Ivory Shea Butter Cream 16 Oz. (100% Pure & Raw) Pack of 2
This is my third purchase of shea butter from amazon, my first was the yellow unrefined raw shea butter which was very smokey and chunky but melted nicely in your hands. The second was the ivory filtered and creamy shea butter, very nice thick, kind of hard consistency and very mild smelling also melted nicely in your hands. This order was suppossed to be ivory but I was sent the yellow, which again is very smokey smelling and it was also very grainy like it had been melted. If it were the ivory Im sure it would have been muh better. Amazon also resolved my mix up promptly which was great and I pkaced an order for the ivory filtered and creamy.I have placed four orders for shea butter, all supplied by halaleveryday and were all labeled from body butter store, one yellow and the others ivory and everytime I was sent totally different shea butter. So beware that if you order once the next time will most likely be different in consistency and smell. I agree with other reviews that this is not pure shea butter and has something added to it.

The Shea Institute has a great fact sheet all about what real shea butter is and the importance of testing, I learned that the government nor any other agency requires shea butter to be tested for quality and safety prior to selling. It is simply good business to do so and it is voluntary. This is the only way to certify a grade for the shea butter. So, if the shea butter is advertised as "grade A" it should display the seal of the American Shea Butter Institute. If it states it is grade A but does not carry the shield of the American Shea Butter Institute it is not actually graded and that butter is considered Lotto Grade Shea butter. This means you do not know what you have, it may be good, or it maybe your worst nightmare. Laboratory testing will include a safety screen, shelf life determination, and size of bioactive friction. Untested shea butter undesirables include, products of rancidity, mold, yeast, bacteria, fungus, coliform bacteria, lead, mercury,and other undesirables. Long story short I won't be ordering my shea butter again on amazon! I will order thru coastal scents from now on!

I was so excited to get my pure and raw shea butter in the mail. I was quickly dissapointed when I opened the package and saw that the butter was yellow instead of ivory in color. Not slight yellow, mustard yellow. So I figured I'd apply the butter to my skin and see how it does. It first of all smells like rancid oil. It did not sink in my skin, it remained on top of my skin and was soooo greasy, like I put crisco on my skin. From what I understand, "pure" shea butter does eventually sink into the skin and is not mustard yellow. Its possible they sent me the "gold" version of the shea butter, even though the plastic wrap it came in clearly states "100% Pure & Raw". Im feeling a little duped right now.UPDATE: 5/22/12 I found some "pure" ivory shea butter from a mall kiosk of all places, and it is all I had hoped this product would be. The pure shea butter moisturizes so great and makes my skin feel like silk. This Amazon shea butter made my skin actually feel dry by the end of the day, I think it is shea butter mixed with oil which may be good for hair, but not good for my skin. Im so happy I found "pure" shea butter, it just was not from THIS seller. Do not buy from this seller, you just dont know what you're going to get.

I'm a 25 yo African American, with high porosity/dry prone hair....and this stuff works! My hair soaks it in and feels so soft. I use it everywhere, face & body and it leaves me so soft. It says that it is ivory Shea butter but in fact it is very yellow. It still goes on very thick and smooth. It lasts a long tome as well.

My family has used Pears soap for generations. My first experience was my Scottish Granny scrubbing the Cradle Cap off my newborn head. Through the years I have tried other brands but always come back to Pears. A few years ago we discovered the aqua Hypoallergenic bar. Now we all have a new favorite. I have to keep it stocked up at the Cottage because all of our family and friends that vacation with us look forward to using it.
