This review is for Auromere Ayurvedic Soap w/ Neem; not the seller nor this Amazon listing.It's only slightly drying if used excessively, however, the fact that it smells like heaven and is made with truly natural ingredients makes it five stars.
I like Kiss my face brand too but I haven't come across this wonderful kind of scent before. I wish their Vanilla truly smelled of vanilla but it didn't and it isn't as pleasant as this one.
To comment on some of the other reviewsI have never found this soap drying in the least, but I have seen enough similar comments from people using botanical soaps to believe that some people have very strong reactions to some botanical ingredients, and this has several. To me, this is a mild soap, much less drying than most cleansers. This soap does have a very strong odor, and I tend to alternate use with the lavender or vanilla neem soap. Some people seem to like it, some don't. The scent is from the tulsi, their other neem soaps do not share it.

This is nothing more than castile soap with a few herbs and the smallest amount of neem at the end! I wasn't too disappointed, you get what you pay for!My skin is very sensitive and dry and this is far from what I needed! Regular Olive Oil based soaps, like the one from Kiss My Face (Olive Oil Soap Bar unscented) are wayyyyy more gentle on the skin than this!I bought this soap in an attempt to help the eczema that had developed on my fingertips. In the first use it dried my hands out, and made the eczema worse, or at least more noticeable. I couldn't get past the horrible smell to continue using this soap! I still have the soap in case my eczema returns & I have no other option, but I've had to seal it within a Ziploc bag in order for it to not stink up my bathroom cabinet. Maybe after a few uses the scent won't be so bad, but I've had for several months & it's still very strong.

When I ordered this soap (for $10), I was under the impression that several bars came in one package. I likely misread something. What arrived was a single bar. I'm sure the soap is great, and hand crafting does bring up the cost, I realize. But-$10-for a single bar of soap? I feel like I've been had.

This is a terrific product, so I purchased a 6-pack of the soap bars to use as gifts to friends. The bars come individually packaged in light cardboard boxes. Imagine my disgust when I opened the outer box & discovered the packager had TAPED the six boxes together, making it virtually impossible for me to extract the individual bars without destroying the boxes they were in. So much for being able to give them away individually as gifts, without repackaging them myself in some other container. C'mon, folks can we THINK a little bit when sending out these orders??!

Chinese B&F Soap Rose 2.65 Ounces
This soap is the answer to the prayers of anyone who wants luxury for less. The ornate wrapper is a work of art in itself, making these a nice hostess gift or stocking stuffer. The scent is light in the rose and jasmine bars. (I often buy the sandalwood, which is very strong and tenacious. In fact, I line my drawers with them.) The bars are on the small side. However, they are hardmilled, so they don't ooze down the drain in a week like some pricier creamier bars. They can be purchased at healthfood type stores, hippie chic boutiques, and Chinese or Indian groceries. I have been buying them for at least 20 years all over the country and a few months ago found some for 33 cents per bar(though just under a dollar is more typical).

I orignially found this soap in San Francisco, Chinatown. It was many years before I found it on Amazon. First...you smell the subtle scent before you open the pretty packaging. It is so nicely packaged..you can feel a bit of the orient when opening it. The rose scent is not powerful but has a light flowery rose scent. It suds up a bit but not overly so..lasts a long..long time. I think it is under-rated as it is truly a superior & unique bar of soap. It is extreamly hard to find..so I'm buying a case of it!I can't believe it is so inexpensive because 25+ years ago it was $1/bar what a buy!

Long review:
I bought this because a reviewer said it was better than the Proraso shaving cream in a tube and that reviewer was right. Compared to Proraso cream in the tube, which is still better than anything in a can, this stuff gives me instant lather and is thinner on the face and easier for the blade to get through. I've only tried the soap with Proraso Pre Shave Cream Menthol & Eucalyptus and my Gillette Fusion razor. It is by far the best, smoothest and closest shave I've ever had in my entire life. Nothing comes close. Looking forward to trying this soap with a new Norelco wet/dry I just ordered for shaving in the shower.
Having tried this soap, I will never go back to shaving foam or gel in a can ever again. The difference using the same blade is that dramatic. I find myself stroking my face way to often during the day in disbelief of how smooth my face feels. Boyishly smooth! I used to have 5 o'clock shadow by early afternoon. With the Proraso Pre-Shave Cream, this soap and a Gillette Fusion blade, I don't get 5 o'clock shadow until the next morning. Another thing I've noticed is that the lube strips on the Fusion blade are lasting longer.
You cannot go wrong with this product. Buy it along with the Proraso Pre Shave Cream and a brush.

I was bit skeptical when looking for a shaving soap that my sensitive skin on my face could handle. When you use this one you actually feel it going to work on your skin. Also seems like the soap is easily absorbed by the hairs, making them easier to cut. Smells nice. Also seems that it will last a long time. Been DE shaving for about 1.5 years so I have not tried many soaps; as a full-time grad student, I need to be cost-conscious. I was using and was satisfied with Col. Conk shaving soaps, but wanted to try to upgrade w/o spending much more. This Proraso does seem to give me a better lather than the Col. Conk and seems to work well on my "sensitive skin." Still, not a great lather when compared to a premium shaving soap, but if this is your budget, it works well for what it is.
