Dr Bronners Magic Pure-Castile Soap Organic Lavender Gallon 128 oz
Most bar soaps shrinkage is from being wet and dripping off. A gallon of this natural nontoxic soap has lasted me for years. I have Dial foaming soap pump dispensers that were cheaper than buying an empty dispenser. After using up the triclosan product, I filled the dispensers with 1/4 soap and 3/4 warm water. This product has been wonderful for us. It's our hand soap and our bathing soap. Shop around for the lowest price.

Amazon is the cheapest places to buy this stuff (love the free shipping!). I've tried the lavender and the peppermint scents and really do love them both. The Lavender is a soft and gentle smell. Peppermint is more strong but still nice.I've replaced so many household cleansers it is unreal. I use this stuff for laundry (about 1/8 cup undiluted), kitchen/bathroom spray (diluted with about 5-10% soap and 90-95% water), dog wash (undiluted), floor cleaner (diluted), carpet cleaner (diluted), and dish soap (NOT in the dishwasher, hand wash only!). I mainly bought this to help with some cat pee situations I was having (something terribly hard to clean out of things). My cat pees on the dog's bed at least once a week. Regular detergent just wasn't getting the smell out. 1/8 a cup of this soap and a heavy wash cycle cleans it right out! It is worth it just for that alone, but I am loving all the other uses for this.
I have not tried this as a bodywash or for any other personal care yet. I'm not sure I'm ready to cross that line even though many people use it for those purposes.
The price might seem high, but it really isn't. Most uses of this product require heavy dilution. My first attempt of mixing a kitchen spray cleaner was a disaster (I did about 30% soap and the rest water). Lets just say my counters were a soap bubble filled mess, it needed to be much more diluted! I also like only having to store 1 undiluted bottle and 1 spray bottle instead of a dozen bottles of different cleaner.
I love that its organic and biodegradable. I think it would be useful to anyone who has a septic tank or on a shared water source like a lake. That way you can clean your boat or wash your dog in the lake without harming neighbors who may pull water from it (or other animals for that matter!).

I was tired of buying little containers of hand soap to have at all our sinks. I have been trying to reduce our packaging usage in order to make a little smaller footprint on the earth and this was a great place to start. I remembered Bronner's soap from the 70's but didn't know they had this scent so I tried it. If you aren't familiar with Dr. Bronner's soap, you're missing out on a natural, effective all-purpose cleaning product. I use it to wash my face, body, clothes, dishes, and countertops. I recommend buying a smaller size along with the gallon so you can refill it and easily move it from room to room much easier than lugging around that heavy gallon bottle. The lavender scent is evident, but not overpowering. It leaves behind a pleasant relaxing fragrance all natural of course. A little goes a long way I dilute it heavily when cleaning the kitchen or bathroom. While Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap is my favorite of the line, the lavender is a close second.Save 27% Off

This soap seems to be great. It lathers up easily and feels great on the skin. My only concern is that it gets very soft and appears to be disintegrating quickly. But I'm still using my first bar and I'm going to buy some more!

These little bars lather well, but I have the feeling they aren't very fresh, as there is no scent other than a rather 'waxy" one. Bath and Body Works Holly Berry Wreath Hand Soap
I'm not sure where to start with this soap. I picked it up at the BBW Semi-Annual Sale just after christmas 2012. Of course, the big star of the sale was all of the holiday stuff that BBW was trying to get rid of. I was in desperate need of some new soap, so I threw this one in my bag for good measure. Strangely enough, I was expecting more from it than what I got. According to one of the associates who worked at the store, they preferred this scent to many of the others in the holiday line because it smelled more "winter" instead of "holiday," so it was a little more versatile.I would say that this is a somewhat versatile scent, but it's almost too subtle to have any fragrance at all. I had to strain to get any kind of scent from this. What I could find seemed like some sort of mix between vague berries and something like pine/holly. But it's so faint that it's nearly impossible to discern what the actual fragrance notes are.
This isn't a terrible scent. I did finish the soap, but I wouldn't buy it again.
Goat's Milk Soap
I really like this soap, it is natural, mild, and leaves you clean without a film. My skin feels soft and smooth, although I spend 2 to 4 hours a day in water exercise classes. I switch off with 3 other soaps, goatsmilk,coconut, oatmeal,and honey, goatsmilk and oatmeal, and the buttermilk soap. I like them all.
The shipping/package information is misleading. It does not say how big the soap is but says the package is one pound. So you kind of expect a big soap. But it turned out to be a regular soap size 5 to 6 oz. And the package is only half pound.

I am disappointed that this $8 bar of soap smells no better than any other green soap, and not as good as Irish Spring. I was and am looking for manly smelling soaps that are distinctive, not general in fragrance. I think it is regular overpriced soap.
