Two (2) Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum CREAMY Bay Rum Bath Soap/Shampoo - 4.5 oz each.

Two Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum CREAMY Bay Rum Bath Soap/Shampoo - 4.5 oz each.I'm a loyal customer of Ogallala...won't use any other shaving soap, and the same goes for their Bay Rum Cologne and/or After Shave.

They were nice enough to send me a free bar of their bath soap once or twice. Geez, I feel really guilty knocking a free gift...the soap is indeed "creamy" per their description...lathers up very nicely. But it is a lot softer than your typical bar soap and it seems to melt away in about a week (with just one person using it). If you are lucky enough to get one of these with your order of other stuff, you'll probably enjoy it. If you have hard water and never seem to get a good lather, you might want to give this a try. If you are looking for a long lasting, economical bar of soap, this might not be your best bet.

Having said that, I will put one more plug in for this company...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their service, and all their other Bay Rum products. The 3-stars are only for this one product; their after shave/cologne/shaving soaps get 5+ stars in my book.

Pre De Provence Shea Butter Enriched Soap, Sunflowers, 250 Grams

Pre De Provence Shea Butter Enriched Soap, Sunflowers, 250 GramsWhat can you say about an expensive bar of soap? If I told you that the bar lasts longer than store bought soap, would that sell you? Or if I told you that this brand of soap contains all of the natural fats that factory soaps do not, would you still not buy it? Those two statements are true. Most people don't know that the natural ingredient of soap is glycerin. Most people also don't know that glycerin is removed from store bought soaps and man-made ingredients are used in its place. Anyone who has gone through the effort to make home-made soaps know that vegetable fats are the primary ingredients for soap, plus a little lye and a lot of stirring. These soaps are heavily laden with good vegetable fats that helps retain your skins natural softness by adding fats in the soap so that you don't get dried out. Soap making is as more of an art than it is a science and the de Provence folks have got the process right. So next time you want a real bar of soap either make it yourself or purchase a bar of de Provence soap.

lasts long, doesn't dry your skin. Great use instead of shower gel. Foams well, great price for big bar of soap

Aramis Men's Bath Soap in a Case, Unboxed

Aramis Men's Bath Soap in a Case, UnboxedGreat smelling soap. Nicely wrapped and packaged in a plastic gift box. When I run out of this soap again, I will assuredly order more from this vendor.

This product is very difficult to find. My husband loves Aramis soap, but not "soap-on-a-rope." In fact, he would be thrilled if I could still find the shaped soaps of 25-30 years ago duck, bear, lion, etc. So, he was very happy with this Christmas present. The Aramis scent is his favorite in fact he doesn't like any other scent at all. Thanks for offering this product.

Cor Silver Soap

Cor Silver Soap 120 gApproached by the Cor Silver Soap company purporting to use actual silver particles in their facial soap I could not help but be intrigued. Silver, the precious metal, as a facial cleanser? Would one be able to SEE the silver in the soap? Would silver be a good additive, or just an excuse to charge untoward amounts of cash for such a novel product?

As in all reviews I do, the proof lies in the testing. Cor helpfully sent me two small round slices of Cor Silver Soap to test. The small samples are considered a week or month's worth (depending on how thickly one lathers their face) of cleansing. I gave one to my mother to get a larger test sample than just myself.

The Cor Testers:

At 41, my skin is olive-toned, prone to getting dark freckles and evidence of hyperpigmented sun damage, but few wrinkles. I have normal skin with a tendency to get spot breakouts when I use products containing irritants on my face.

My mother is 62, has light crows feet, slight nose to mouth lines, and very few wrinkles overall. She has lighter colored skin with blue-pink undertones, and also gets dark freckles in the sun. Her skin type is normal to dry.

We each used the soap twice daily for a week.

The Cor Test:

We both found the Cor Silver Soap very pleasant to use. It has a light, barely there clean scent, goes on silky and washes off cleanly. This is a low-lather product, which I prefer in a face cleanser.

Cor Silver soap removes the dirt from the day and most of the makeup, and doesn't leave us with that dry, tight skin feeling which we've come to realize means the skin is stripped. In other words, we felt comfortable, soft and clean. We both followed up use with our normal moisturizers. We did not experience irritation or breakouts. Wrinkles, though sadly remained right were we'd left them.

Negatives for this product center mainly squarely on price point. As one would expect. A full bar of Cor Silver Soap at 125 grams will set you back $125. Our tiny "cucumber slice" samples cost $14 each in retail. At either size, we consider that pretty darned expensive for, what is, in essence, a pH balanced soap for sensitive skin. Many lovely drugstore facial cleansers for perform the same task at a fraction of the price.

The Reality for Cor Silver Soap:

This is clearly an elegant formulation, presumably due to the silica, collagen and silk protein ingredients. The pomegranate extracts and avocado oil are also helpful ingredients with antioxidant and soothing benefits respectively.

Silver, the most salubrious ingredient on the menu, is an unusual choice for face cleanser on several levels ~

Silver has been studied and proven as an antibacterial agent, as with most metals. But is there enough silver in the solution to approach antimicrobial levels? I can see right through the soap sliver and while it does have a mild metallic sheen, I cannot say just how much silver is needed to fight bacteria in a product applied to surface skin.

In another vein, a cleanser is made to wash on and wash off. This isn't a moisturizer or serum whereby strong active ingredients are applied facially and left to soak in. Thus, having silver and collagen in a largely glycerin soap product seems a bit precious: how will something you wash right away (or even away after a few spare minutes, as they suggest for deep cleansing) encourage healing and cell growth?

Cor's touted answer is that the active ingredients penetrate deeply into the dermis layer of skin. I would like to see studies proving that from my research we aren't there just yet, and don't know exactly what the effects of such nano-technology are for the body in the long term.

The ingredient Chitosen I have no issue with, as that helps provide a fibrous mechanical type of mild exfoliation, leaving skin smoother overall. Mixed with the silica and silk proteins, Cor really does offer a lovely formulation to cleanse, exfoliate and add moisture-binding ingredients in one pleasant step.

The Recommendation for Cor Silver Soap:

This a nice product for facial cleansing: with mild exoliation in a a non-drying forumla. It is easily rinsed, and matched with a very slight scent of lemon verbena and fresh melon.

If this is what you seek in a cleanser, I'd suggest purchasing the sample size at $14 and seeing if you can't live without it. An expensive price tag doesn't always translate to a miracle product, so I'd take the claims of reviving, plumping, luminizing, brightening, toning, balancing and healing with a grain of salt. Or in this case, with a grain of soap!

Validity of claims aside, the cleanser IS simply lovely to use and left both mine and my mother's faces fresh, clean, soft and fully prepped for moisturizer. If you don't mind the price tag, this may be the right facial cleanser for you, and you will certainly feel luxurious indulging in it.

I bought a couple of the small sizes before taking the hit to the wallet and getting this bigger bar. What did it for me was that after a week of not using the first "travel size" soap, I noticed a significant difference of my skin's elasticity and evenness of tone, in a downward direction. I got myself another small bar and within a few days of regular use (2/day) noticed those qualities improving. I'm a sucker for immediate gratification, so all the other products that need a month or more to show results just don't make as much of an impression on me since the process is so "gradual" and I don't really notice any difference. Also I think the eventual difference other products make aren't as significant as this bar of soap can deliver. It works faster and better, plus you already wash your face daily, so it's not another step you have to introduce into your routine. It's the simplest, most effective solution I've ever used, and I'm a serial product buyer of the cheap and expensive.

I'm almost 30 and had deep acne through adolescence that I cleared up in college with Acutane, but still have some leftover mild discolorations and pitting along with the first signs of aging. Using this in conjunction with a mild nightly skin lightener has given me the face of my 12 year old self (if I hadn't had acne at the time). I've had my big bar for three months and have barely gotten through what I think is 1/4 of the bar. To use, I dampen my face, dry off any drips and roll the bar in my hand just a few times. I rub this into my face and neck to create the lather instead of waiting for the bar to lather in my hand. I think this is the trick to getting this bar to last its 6-9 months.

Buy Cor Silver Soap Now

I found a sample of this soap and decided to try it since I am already a fan of colloidal silver (for immune strengthening). It is absolutely amazing. I have moderate acne, enough to bother me on a daily basis and require make-up. After one week of using this soap, my skin looked fabulously clear. It's all-natural and its close-to-neutral pH is great for my super-sensitive skin and it's not drying like typical acne products (I've used ProActiv--this is so many times better). Cor soap is made by Plank Designs, a great eco-conscious company focused on sustainability and natural products. So far, I've had this soap (the large size) for 3.5 months and it is about 3/4 gone, so I would be wary of the "lasts 6-9 months" that they advertise. Overall, a wonderful purchase and the best facial cleansing product I have ever used!

Cor Silver soap is expensive, yes. It is also absolutely AMAZING. It's all you need too. It takes off make up, eye make up everything with no side effects. I have truly sensitive skin. This soap evens skin tone right off the bat, clears acne and leaves your skin perfectly balanced. The medium sized bar lasts 4 months being used twice a day. You just rub it in your hands for a second and spread the foam on your face (eye area too), wait 3 minutes and then swirl it around on your skin for a sec and rinse. No need for moisturizer at night either (unless you have really dry skin). It's worth every penny.

I suggest trying the mini bar first if you are sceptical. That is what I did. Then I HAD to have the bigger bar. I can't live without it anymore. I am 43 btw and it really took a few years off my face.

LOVE IT!!

Cassia Clove 100% Pure & Natural Aromatherapy Herbal Soap- 4 oz (113g)

Cassia Clove 100% Pure & Natural Aromatherapy Herbal Soap- 4 ozI can't say enough positive things about Plantlife soaps.

I came to natural soaps for a very specific reason--a husband whose eczema was virtually out of control. For years, we'd tried keeping him on soaps designed for sensitive skin. While this would generally calm flare-ups slightly, it wouldn't prevent them from creeping up again. Admittedly, since beginning to use Plantlife's soaps, my husband is NOT eczema free... BUT his skin is drastically improved and his flare-ups are down to about 10% of what they once were.

The scents of Plantlife's soaps are remarkably pleasant too. I've yet to find one that is offensive to my nose--they're delicately done, not over-powering or too "perfume-y."

So if you're thinking of switching to herbal soaps to treat your skin to the best, most natural clean possible--try some Plantlife soaps. If you're simply looking for some aromatherapy or some way to mix-up your usual soap routine--try some Plantlife soaps. I'd be willing to bet that if you returned to "normal," store-bought soaps afterwards, you'd do so grudgingly and reluctantly!

The clove aroma is strong if that is what you are looking for. The cake is rather small and doesn't last long, so this is soap for those who don't mind spending the money.

I've been on a spa-at-home kick lately and particularly interested in natural spa products. I came across Plantlife products when I was looking for some aromatherapy candles (which I bought from them and I deeply love). When I received the candles I got two small free samples this soap and a bottle of lavendar oil. After trying out the soap, I immediately purchased 3 larger bars of a few different scents, including this one. All the soaps I bought have the wonderful fragrances I expected when I picked them out peppermint, lavendar, etc., but I love the Cassia Clove smell it has a unique earthy smell, but is not overpowering at all. The bar is solid and a perfect size for what you pay. When you lather it on, it glides across your skin without a whole lot of foam and fuss, but you can still see a trail of the natural oils that it is made from. It is gentle, but leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh and very soft. I am hooked on all of these soaps and have started purchasing many of the different products that Plantlife makes.

Dudu Osun Black Soap, 6-Count

Dudu Osun Black Soap, 6-CountMy husband and I are Caucasian, and we both have occasional facial break outs. My skin is very sensitive and reacts immediately to most facial products. Three years ago while on vacation and browsing in a store in that carried African products, we discovered Dudu-Osun Black soap. From the moment that we started using this soap, we have been thrilled with the results. This is the only soap that we use on our faces and our bodies. I am constantly receiving compliments on my skin.

I have always ordered online and I learned one very important lesson after my first order.... ask the vendor for the expiration date printed on the boxes. This is a natural product and my first order, which was non-refundable, was almost outdated when I received it. Now, that is the first thing that I ask the vendor.

I have never ordered from this vendor, so my recommendation is only for the soap itself. However, I did email them 4 days ago requesting information and I haven't heard back from them, so I today I ordered through another vendor, at a much much cheaper price.

I currently use this soap but I was usually paying $4-5 for each bar. I highly recommend this soap for blacks, may be good for others but I just don't know. I first started using it to help clear up my face. I wanted something to help close my pores and I had tried all of the expensive stuff at the cosmetics counters and all of the cleansers, masks, toners, exfolliants and peels available at the drug store. I met a women who had the clearest skin I have ever seen she was from West Afria I asked her what she used because her skin was so beautiful, she told me black soap. She told me that is all she ever used and she was at least 40. She was from Ghana and so used what was from her country. I did some research and found out that the so called best black soap came from Nigeria and so I bought it and I LOVE IT!

Best soap you will ever use, I use it all over my body now. Best thing is you can get a good lather, I mean really soap up your wash cloth even when the bar is almost gone. Also if you forget to put on lotion you will NOT be all ashy at he end of the day. You skin feels so good after using this soap exactly how your skin should feel.

*The only bad thing I can think of is Do Not use White or light colored wash cloths they will get stained. Small price to pay, I now use all of my old wash cloths and keep the soap in a plastic soap dish in the shower. However does not stain tub, shower etc. rinses away clean.

I have used this product as an all-over body soap and in the art studio where I am constantly in contact with harsh paints, solvents, etc. The soap makes my hands feel instantly restored. My daughter who has had eczema her whole life also uses this product with wonderful results we are Northern European by heritage with extremely dry itchy skin and this is now our soap! Incidentally, I've discovered it also keep natural bristle brushes in wonderfully supple condition probably not it's intended use, but far better than anything else I have used.

Dudu Osun has been my best-kept secret for many years now. People always compliment me on how beautiful, smooth, and even my skin is. I say "thank you", but almost never tell them what I useDudu Osun to clean and pure shea butter as a moisturizer! This is truly the best soap on the market and too many people let the color turn them away. It is REAL black soap, and it does not stain as some would have you believe. I also love the earthy scent and love to just sniff the boxes when they arrive in the mail! Too many of my African sisters come to the States with beautiful, smooth skin then start using Western products because they believe these products are somehow "better". Then, they are confused when they start having breakouts and acne. They attribute it to the different foodwhich may play a role-but I believe it is because they stop using native products like Dudu Osun. This soap lathers richly and rinses cleansqueaky clean. The lather is so rich, I also use it as a shampoo for my dreadlocks. My skin is flawless, my hair is clean and healthy. You couldn't pay me to try anything else.

After I passed the age of 60, I started having facial breakouts for reasons that escaped both me and my doctors. After abandoning the medical profession's expensive prescription remedies, I started using a combination of sulfur soap with Dead Sea salts, vitamin B-5. And Tri-Derma skin repair creme. This was effective.

One day I discovered that my sulfur soap was gone, and I had a bad breakout on my scalp. I decided to give the Dudu-Osun soap a try. How and why this soap may be effective requires some explanation, and I apologize if this seems a bit like lecturing.

Dudu-Osun soap contains different forms of wood ash, which in turn has a high percentage of calcium carbonate (used in agricultural lime) and potash (used in lye). Lye is a common soap ingredient. Lime is not so commonly used. Both are alkaline (high pH level). As such they can be caustic and corrosive although in small quantities this can be controlled. Dudu-Osun soap contains things like palm oil and shea butter which should help to reduce the burning that caustic substances can cause.

What does this mean for a soap meant to help with breakouts? Here is my own analysis, based on chemistry and personal experience:

1. Anti-bacterial action. Bacteria do not thrive well in alkaline environments. Dudu-Osun creates a highly alkaline environment which has a more highly disinfectant action than most soaps.

2. Skin irritation. Caustic alkaline soaps have a very high potential for skin irritation. The more sensitive your skin, the worse this will be. This is the downside of Dudu-Osun's disinfectant qualities. If left on the skin for even a minute, I can feel the burning for up to six hours later, and my skin sensitivity level is normal. If you use Dudu-Osun, wash it off immediately. Don't let it get near your eyes or other more fragile tissue.

3. Exfoliation. Exfoliants remove dead skin cells, which clears pores, allows hair follicles to grow, and generally promotes skin health. Chemical exfoliants are typically acidic (e.g., alpha hydroxy acid). Dudu-Osun is alkaline. It is not the best solution for skin exfoliation. With a good exfoliant, your skin will feel more refreshed. While your skin will feel clean with Dudu-Osun, you won't have the refreshing quality that a good exfoliant produces.

4. General effectiveness. It took only a couple of days for me to resolve a scalp breakout with Dudu-Osun. But when I wasn't careful about flushing with water, it hurt.

5. Alternatives. Sulfur soap with Dead Sea salts (such as what Jericho and Adovia offer) tends to be acidic when combined with water. Acid also has an anti-bacterial action as well as being good for exfoliation. The salts themselves have magnesium, which has anti-inflammatory and hydration qualities that people have found therapeutic for over 4,000 years. I rate these soaps as better than Dudu-Osun.

6. Value. What can I say? This product is a steal at its current pricing. If you're careful about flushing with water and don't mind getting a separate exfoliant, it should serve you well.

I hope that some of this helps to clarify the sometimes conflicting comments from other reviewers.

Indigo Wild: Zum Bar Goat's Milk Soap, Sea Salt 3 oz (3 pack)

Indigo Wild: Zum Bar Goat's Milk Soap, Sea Salt 3 ozWhen my package of soap arrived at the office I could smell it coming. I love the way this soap smells -and so does my 26-year-old son. It's hard to describe the scent. In some ways it reminds of Gain detergent or maybe patchouli, but not really. It's very exotic, but not overwhelming. I used to buy it at my local Whole Foods, but they stopped carrying this particular scent.

This stuff smells great!

Unfortunately it arrived in less than perfect condition...the seller just threw bars of soap into a USPS envelope and pitched it in the mail.

Buuutttt...they were also 1/2 as expensive as the rest of the crowd and well...soap is soap, even if has some dents and dings in it.

Dudu Osun African Black Soap

Dudu Osun African Black SoapI was a little worried about the scent after a friend described it as smelling "earthy", which for some reason made me think of the smell of dirt and soil. I was pleasantly surprised however that wasn't the case at all, it actually smells very fresh and clean. Hard to describe, but to my nose it smells slightly like green apple/orchard/garden/soapy. It lathers quite well and leaves my skin squeaky clean and soft.

My order was delivered promptly. No complaints there hence the 5/5.

The soap: Nice smell and size. A bit fragrant for those that are sensitive. I have psoriasis on my forehead and this soap lessened the flare ups after the first use.

Note: If you have sensitive skin, pre-rinse your face with cold water. This soap may be a little harsh. Do not leave it on your face more than five minutes!!!! Also, rinse thoroughly! If you leave traces of it on your skin it may irritate it.

Everybody's different. This was my experience and I decided to share it with anyone whose interested.

Lindi and her co-owner cousin, Christopher, developed the product line after training with experts and lots of hard work. Their goal was to help people combat the effects of the crackly, cold air in Breckenridge. As it turns out, these safe and naturally eye-catching soaps benefit everyone, with or without special skin-care needs. The Sister Agnes Soaps are made on the premises, using vegetable glycerin as a long-lasting moisturizer. Essential oils infuse the bars with fragrance. They are completely toxin-free. Many of the bars also contain four generous ounces of the ancient historically proven moisturizer, shea butter. Milagros offers creams, moisturizing bath bombs, liquid soap and skin-smoothing Dead Sea salt scrubs for general skin care. They also carry natural lip balm, candles, sold massage oil, pajamas, bath accessories and gift items. There are over 90 different soaps and fragrances, and they can make other products to match them. Milagros gives back to the community with donations and local discounts.
