Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap, 18-in-1 Hemp Tea Tree, 32-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2)

Try this: next time you're at the health food store, go to the "essential oils" section, find a bottle of pure tea tree oil ("Desert Essence" is a good brand), and smell it. You will get the "turpentine" smell, in spades.
So why do I use it? Tea tree oil is a natural anti-bacterial, and I use it constantly to "de-germ" my hands. It rinses clean--unlike commercial anti-bacterial soaps that leave an overwhelming perfume-y smell that takes hours to dissipate--and does not create the same problems as using a commercial anti-bacterial soap does: i.e., creating a "super-bacteria" that can't be killed.
The other, "pretty" smelling Bronner's soaps will do a fine job of cleaning your skin, but if you have a need for a natural anti-bacterial--as I do--then buy Bronner's Tea Tree, dilute it about 6:1 w/water, and put it in a pump bottle. Hold your breath if you don't like the smell. Please don't bring down the ratings of this wonderful product just because it smells the way it shouldlike tea tree! I use it for washing hands and dishes.I have very thin fine hair, and have struggled with hair loss since my early teens. I starting using this as shampoo for around 1 year now, and have noticed a huge difference. My hair doesn't fall out while in the shower anymore, and is more manageable. If you can bare the smell, it is well worth it. I'll never go back to normal overpriced shampoo.I had a problem with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). I needed a soap that was chemical-free and natural so that I would not have an allergic reaction. This is absolutely wonderful. This helped me get through a Master Cleanser so that I could rid myself of the MCS. Even though I no longer have MCS, I continue to use this natural soap.
Regarding the smell, Tea Tree has a pine smell. This soap has several other oils. Here are the ingredients as listed on the label: Water, Saponified Organic Coconut and Organic Olive Oils (w/ Retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Tea Tre Extract, Citric Acid, Vitamin E.I was first introduced to Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Oil soap when I was given a small bottle for piercing aftercare. I love this stuff! Not only did it speed up heal time on my piercings, I started using it as face wash on a regular basis (it's similar to the Body Shop's tea tree oil face care system) and I love it. I also use it as shampoo occasionally and my hair and scalp feel very clean afterwards. I also use it as a body wash from time to time. I love the anti-bacterial tea tree oil. The soap needs to be diluted other reviews mention users skin got too dry, I think this is from not diluting the soap enough and it lasts a very very long time. The Tea Tree oil smell is a bit strong, but I don't mind it, and it washes off clean, so it's not like you smell like the soap all day. This is a really great product. I'm stocking up on the Tea Tree Oil one and going to try the Lavender one as well.

I much prefer other luxurious brands of soap over this one which are also organic such as the triple milled long-lasting, wonderful strong fragrance, rich lather French style soaps like the South of France, French Milled Soap : SHEA BUTTER 8.8 oz ( Multi-Pack) or Pre de Provence Milk Soap, 250g wrapped bar. Imported from France. With shea butter and natural herbs and scents or Mistral Soap, Imperial Jasmine, 200 Grams or Olivia Care Olive Oil Soap , Verbena, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)
OR for something more botanical and effectively cleaning: the very organic, strong botanical smelling, rich lathering Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap, All-One Hemp Peppermint, 5-Ounce Bars (Pack of 6) or Medimix Ayurvedic Soap 125g New Large Size which has neem and lots of other useful cleansing herbs.
Vegetable Based Almond Bath Soap

I prefer my soaps soft in texture (just because of the fact I don't like feeling I'm cleaning myself with a hard rock) and the soapbar surface is soft textured in the bath, but this soap is so hard durable that when I tried to cut into them with a metal stick while they were on a plastic container, the plastic container broke apart, so I'm sure they will last a long time. The fragrance is powerful with beautiful almond fragrance outside the bath and while bathing and the soapbar has GENEROUS lathering. They remind me of Castelbel soaps but the lather is MUCH more generous and it feels great in the hands, becoming softer in texture while bathing.
As an everyday soap for bathing and/or handwashing, aromatherapy or as a gift, the soap would be great.
For $12 for a 12 oz luxury soapbar + s/h, that's pretty much fair in the ballpark, especially for the quality of a great fragrance, lathering, well-textured soap. However, there are LOTS of different CST soaps at bargain prices at stores like Marshall's so that's one of the first places I'd go if I wanted a CST soap.
As with any soap, if you want to have it last longer, keep it away from water and get a soapholder with holes on the bottom so the water doesn't stay to liquefy the soap.this soap is amazing and smells devine it is large so it will last a while and you will love how it smells! I highly recommend it! Also in a beautiful box!

Eventhough, Madina's African Black Soapdoes not got through a natural process, as the Natural, bumpy textured, brown "REAL" Raw AFRICAN derived Black Soap does, Its ingredients work the same (great for numerous skin benefits. Do your research) in fact, I notice quicker results with Madina's brand, as far as ridding my skin of acne, and scars/marks, making it smooth and soft (smells nice but is not loud or overpowering at all) I thought I'd purchase the Natural Raw Black Soap & would decide after a several uses to stop using Madinas Black Soap, but Im going to continue to use this black Soap, along with the Raw version. They both are very good for my skin (clear it up, leaving my skin clean & healthy.)I have used both on my face & body, but the Raw Black soap I am using mainly on my face, maybe spot treat certain areas of my body, while every day I shower with Madina's brand Black Soap Full Body lather & rinse--daily. They both work great on my skin (cant speak for everyone else). Both black soaps are the only soap I use currently on my body. They are both great for the skin.My husband uses this soap and it is wonderful. It makes his skin very soft and has a nice, clean smell. It is also good for minimizing scarring. Very moisturizing.

I just received my order of Black Soap and let me tell you this soap is great. If your skeptical about this soap don't be because it is absolutely great. This soap works well on dark spots from acne and it works on stretch marks for the ladies that have just given birth or just naturally have stretch marks. this soap removes all of that from you body and brings out your natural clean clear skin. I tell can tell you from experience because I have been using this soap for a month now and it has done wonders for me. it also works well with the shea butter from Ghana. The smell is great it is not overpowering the bar itself will smells like the oils of Africa but it doesn't make you body smell that way once you have used it. It's also good for you face and clears any discoloration. I know many have tried this and my not like the smell for whatever reason but it is a great product and I will continue to use it because it's good all I can say is just give it a try it's the best soap in the world. This product is great, especially for your face. If you have blemishes or scarring this soap is what you should be using. Although it won't work overnight, you won't want to get down to one bar either! I always keep it in my shelves and order like 12 at a time. You will love this soap, just like me... I love it!The shipping was fast and the product is great. I've been using the black soap for about a week and it really helped clear up my acne and I even notice that the dark spots from acne are clearing up as well. I would recommend this product to anyone who has struggled with acne and its scars like I did.Castile Liquid Soap Organic-Eucalyptus 32 Ounces

I have extremely sensitive skin and break out really easy. My husband has dry skin and it can get irritated with some soaps. Plus we have a glass shower enclosure and bar soap is not allowed due to the soap scum it creates. So we gave this soap a try.
We love it. When it came, my husband had a flashback to high school. He said the girls in school used this soap for shampoo, too. The scent of the soaps is not overpowering; we've tried the eucalyptus and peppermint. But it's cool when you walk down the hallway and you can smell the fresh scent of either coming from the shower. Love it!
The peppermint feels really tingly and for someone who has a hard time waking up in the morning it's nice to know something other than coffee can get me going!
One note you don't need to use a lot of this soap to get lather. So the first time you try it, use less than you might think and work up from there. Because of this, these soaps last so long!
So even though the price is high at first, the value you get, the pleasure of the scents and the invigorating pepperment all combine to make me one happy customer. Oh, and the company is not too shabby either! Dr. Bronner's has a new "forever" customer.Got here fast and in tact. Too bad it doesn't come in a bigger size. Way cheaper this route than buying from the local grocery store.
