South of France Milled Bar Soap, Lavender French, 8.8-Ounce (Pack of 3)

French-milled soap has wonderful fragrances, and the bars--which are big!-lather up so well and last a long time. The bars are so big that we sometimes cut them in half and share them with our small nephew, who loves them, too. Our favorite fragrances so far are mango, tea tree, sandalwood and, my daughter's favorite, lavendar. I'm so glad that we can find this brand on-line!

I travel to France every year to visit family, and I found this soap while there.

So nice to be able to purchase it through Amazon, as I use it all the time at home. I am

usually allergic to fragrances, but this soap's lavender scent is very mild and natural,

and I find it relaxing.

Pre De Provence Shea Butter Soap Bar, La Mer, 250 Grams

This soap smells great, cleans and rinses well and does not dry out my skin. The bar is massive, if put off by the price it is equal to about 4 regular size soap bars. And it lasts a long time.

Creamy lather as expected. The fragrance is extremely light. My husband says he can't smell it and is not impressed. There is no trace of fragrance left on the skin after showering and the scent volume is so pitiful, there isn't much fragrance to enjoy while showering.

I won't be buying this particular scent a second time.

If I wanted an almost fragrance free soap, I would probably opt for the milk soap. The color of this bar is a light pastel as opposed to the white of the milk soap if color is an important consideration.

Great soap, great scent. People, this soap is for everyone, not just black people (do you know how incredibly ignorant that sounds?! I wish people would research stuff before they perpetuate this kind of nonsense.) It is called "black" soap because there are plant ashes in the soap, giving it it's dark appearance. It is made from leaves and bark of various trees and plants that are burned in a kettle or vat. The leaves are from banana trees, plantain skins, leaves and bark, palm tree leaves, cocoa pods, shea tree bark, etc. The ashes from the leaves are then mixed with water and then filtered. Oils such as shea butter, coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa butter are added to this water to create the soap.

I enjoy this soap. Rich lather, and washes off, leaving a squeaky clean feel. A better product for men; the Shea Butter may be a mild irritant to some women...as my gf mentioned. But works wonders for me. I recommend this product.

I wanted to use this product for a few weeks before I gave it a review. I am African-American with very oily, blemish and acne prone skin. I have used Proactiv which worked but didn't help much with the blemishes and Mary Kay cleansers with made my face worse. Since using this black soap not only has my face begun to clear up but my oily skin is not as oily anymore and I can wear makeup without my face getting as shiny. I use the black soap with my Clarisonic Cleansing brush, and the soap has even helped with my folliculitis. I spent hundreds of dollars on Chemical Peels, and products from the dermatologist and nothing has worked as well as the black soap. I got rid of all the other products I would normally use and just have the black soap and my skin has never looked better! This is a surprisingly good product. Holds more soap than I anticipated and it smells terrific. I've bought many of these for all the bathrooms and showers. Best product of its type I've seen.

I am a huge fan of Michel Design Works I have quite a few of their products. I just got this a few minutes ago and had to write about it. The container is HUGE! It has a "Michel Design Works" Elephant "STAMP" on the top of the container, and a very pretty label. Looks just like the photograph!

This "Flora Exotica" fragrance is *Amazing*. I don't really know how to describe it except to say it is like an "Exotic" Honeysuckle, with something else. It is really quite nice! Since the jar is so big and it is a foamerI know it will last a while. It might be more expensive the store bought brands but if you like a little dressy soap for your guests and don't mins spending the extra this is your soap! The best part of foaming jars is they are refillable once the product is used! Just add a drop or two of your fave, add water and you're all set!

Michel Design Works Flora Exotica Foaming Soap, 17.8-Ounce I received this as a gift at Christmas and now it's August; the soap container is only just now close to empty. The aroma is wonderfully floral without being heavy or lingering. (Jasmine seems to be the most prominent aroma but lightly fades and doesn't interfere with perfume.) The soap base is shea butter and leaves my skin feeling light and clean without drying. I use this primarily when it gets warm and bugs and insects are rampant. Mosquitos love me. However, they and their insect buddies don't love tea tree oil. Since I don't like using oily products such as insect repellent, this product seems heaven sent. I also use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner and combined with the soap it is a triple threat against unwanted bites and irritations.

Tea tree oil has a somewhat astringent quality and scent which isn't unpleasant and is actually sort of fresh without having a flowery property. It is also good for facial outbreaks as it affectively fights oily residue on skin.

My only gripe with this soap is its price. This soap dissolves quickly and at its price point it isn't really much of a deal.

I dropped $8 or $9 for one of these bars at SportClips, not realizing what it would cost, then felt like an idiot declining, so I kept it. Best decision ever made. Tea tree as you may know is an antimicrobial, and B.O. is essentially caused by bacteria. I really didn't think this far before making the purchase, but have since. Especially since my wife commented that even my workout clothes don't smell like they used to and in general she's noticed a real difference. Everything else everyone said I also agree with, I like the big bar, you don't always feel like you have a nub of soap left, the abrasive part is great and it lathers well, smells refreshing, and provides that invigorating, menthol like, opening of the pores feeling.

Give it a shot, I get about 3 weeks life on average from a bar, and would rather spend my money here than at Starbucks.

I wouldn't consider myself a "natural-soap" man...my previous 3 shower/body soaps were from Old Spice, then Irish Spring, then Dove. Not anymore!

I first learned about this soap when the company's founder came to talk to a Corporate Social Responsibility class that I took and I have loved it ever since. This Christmas I bought 15 boxes and gave it to everyone on my list. The value is incredible and the soap is both gentle and high quality. My usual criticism of natural soaps are that they either don't work or they leave a weird film on your skin. This soap does neither. I gave a box to some family friends and the mom told me "My plastic surgeon told me that my face has never looked better and asked what I've been doing differently!" Another family friend has skin allergies and thanked me profusely for turning them on to this soap. I like it because I can pronounce everything that is in it, something I can't say about my shampoo, toothpaste or any other product that I use.

I bought the facial bar (I'm not sure if Amazon sells it...but look for it!) and use that on my face AND figured out that if I used a shaving brush I could build enough lather to shave with it rather than the crappy shaving cream I was buying. I haven't used the ol' nasty shaving cream since.

This has become my favorite soap. It's very plain and simple and comes with a smaller price tag than the other natural bar soaps. The packaging says it all; it's a simple 100% recycled cardboard box and states "We only put in the stuff you need to get clean." There are only 4 ingredients: Soap of Coconut and Palm Oils, Water, Vegetable Glycerine, and Sodium Citrate. It's even US made (made in Vermont). The bars of soap are a simple off-white color in a rectangular shape. No colors, no scents, no special shapes; just plain old get-you-clean soap. It's great for those with allergies or sensitive skin. The soap leaves my skin feeling clean and soft without any residue. I would definitely recommend this soap to everyone. You can find this soap at Fred Meyer in the natural section for $4.99 for a box of 3 bars of soap.

My bf likes to use all natural soaps. He decided to try this brand, and although its okay in that it doesn't irritate his skin, I question how clean he is getting when using this soap. Armpits and other areas still smell after scrubbing with this soap. Why? Also, I've used this soap on my face to clean make-up off. I wear mineral make-up and not much of it so there's no harsh dyes or chemicals to remove, but it doesn't wash it off! So I don't use this soap because if it doesn't wash a little make-up off, its probably not washing most of the dirt and germs on the body either, so what's the point?
