I absolutely love this product. It makes my skin so soft and touchable. I also use it to shampoo my hair. I am African AMerican, with natural hair---It leave my hair soft, even after rinsing the product.My hair is so much healthier and shiny since I have been using. You wont be disappointed. I've been looking for something to use for a shampoo that doesn't have sulfates in it, because I have seborrheic dermatitis which every shampoo I have tried seems to aggravate. even the so-called sulfate free products don't help much. This stuff works GREAT! I don't have to use conditioner either. It says on the bottle you can use it for body wash and shampoo. I was suprised by the complaints about the odor, because I think that it smells good, but perhaps that's just a matter of preference.

I've been through so many different facial cleansers, and finally found one I have stuck with for awhile now. This Pure Black Soap with Organic Shea Butter is great!

MY SKIN:

My face is combination. In winter months, it gets very dry and flaky. The rest of the year, it is very oily and I am prone to lots of blackheads with the occasional larger pimple.

EFFICACY:

This soap works so well with my skin. It dries it out in the winter, still, but the least of any other cleansers I've tried. It cleans away dirt and oil so well, and leaves my skin feeling soft.

SCENT:

Smells odd, but smells clean. Not at all fruity or floral, but hard to describe.

OTHER USES:

It says you can use it on hair, body, in laundry, and to clean your home. So far, I use it as a facial cleanser. I tried it on my hair, but it didn't produce very good results. Takes a lot to clean my hair, and makes it very static-prone.

CONSISTENCY:

This soap is a little runny, but pours out of the bottle easily that way. You don't get a ton of lather, but the right amount to cleanse well.

I LOVE:

The ingredients! NO parabens, artificial scents, weird unpronounceable chemicals...it is just natural which is fantastic.

OVERALL:

I recommend this to those who desire a natural facial cleanser that doesn't horribly over-dry in the winter, but cleanses fully in hot, sticky weather.

I bought this product cause it was recommended to me and I had always been a consumer of Dr. Bronner liquid soaps. It is mild in fragrance and the shea butter ingredient is a good thing for dry skin. I do recommend this product and the 32 oz bottle seemed to be the best price for the money.

Let me first say I bought this product in JUNE and I'm doing a review now so I can give the product a decent chance on working. I have oily, acne prone skin, with acne scars...or better yet HAD acne scars. I have NOT broken out since I started using this product as a face and body wash. This is a very nice bar of soap-it's a large bar, lightly scented with a clean fragrance (non-flowery, so nice for guys too) and super lathering. These bars are huge and last a long time. The scent is hard to qualify... it's just a really clean-soapy scent. It's not overpowering at all and instead is just really refreshing. Olive-oil soaps are great moisturizers without leaving you feel greasy at all. I just plunk one of these massive bars on the shelf in the shower stall and use a bath sponge. The bars are just too unwieldy for soaping up by hand. Sure, they're not a boutique style soap... and I like it that way.

If you're picturing some delicious handmade olive oil soap, like you get in soap boutiques here in the States, you're completely mistaken, as I was. Thylox Acne Soap 3.25 Ounces

I started to use this soap as an alternate soap to Nubian Heritage's African Black Soap, because it did not cause my face to be as dry and tight as the African Black Soap. However, after subsequent uses, my face no longer felt dry and tight, which was a big relief for me. It got rid of my mild facial acne pretty quickly, and I don't need to follow up with moisturizer due to dryness and tightness. It also helped with my facial oiliness, and it lathers very well. This soap also lightened dark areas on my face. I had been struggling to remove dark patches on my face due to using harsh or too strong products, and this soap actually made my skin tone look more even. I had no idea it was even capable of doing this. I originally purchased Nubian Heritage Coconut & Papaya soap to moisturize my face and remove these dark spots; however, I only used the soap a few times. I noticed that the acne soap was doing what I wanted the Coconut & Papaya soap to do, so there is basically no need for me to use the Coconut & Papaya soap at the moment. The acne soap also smells great, and it is not an overwhelming smell. I honestly don't think it smells like sulfur either. It is pretty hard to describe the smell though. Also, please be careful when using this soap. Although the directions on the box clearly instruct users to avoid getting the soap in their eyes, I have been careless on a few occasions, and some of it got in my eye. It will sting pretty badly.

This soap works great to clear blemishes and is a great price but it smells awful. Joesoef(yes this is the correct spelling) skincare carries a sulfur based soap that smells much better and works just as well although it is more expensive.

This soap works to a point, cleared up my acne a little bit, I still get breakout but not as bad as i used to, it's partly my fault cause my family is known for having overly oily skin bad acne problems.

This soap smells awful, you kinda get used to it but then again you don't want to go around smelling like rotted eggs.

WARNING!! The Sulfur part of this soap will tarnish certain jewelry metals, I have had two silver rings and a silver and stainless neckless cross turn black after using this soap regularly . sulfur is known for blackening of certain metals...

My skin is extremely oily and prone to blackheads. I have tried expensive cleansers, Proactiv, Murad, Retin-A, and a myriad of products containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Some of these products overdried my skin, which subsequently led to more oil production and blackheads, the others were just ineffective. I stumbled across this soap and decided to give it a try, and I am glad that I did. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and so far so good. There is a noticeable improvement in my skin's texture AND no blackheads. I hope the effects of this soap last. I smell a hint of sulfur but nothing too pungent. I have ordered more and will continue to use this product that has made a world of difference in my skin for such a low price. I am in my early 40s and bought this soap after reaching my wits end with what I chalked up as adult acne but a few days before consulting with a dermatologist. Without my mentioning Grandpa's sulfur soap, my dermatologist wrote a prescription for a prescription strength sulfur soap, stating that the sulfur has antiseptic properties and kills the bacteria that collects on my face and, along with oil, clogs the pores. I use both the prescription strength and Grandpa's sulfur soap once each a day. I find the lather of Grandpa's better removes the traces of oil and makeup from the day so I use it at night before going to bed. I have not had one break out since. However, I was hopeful that it would reduce the production of oil but I don't find it the least bit overdrying as some have previously indicated.

NaturOli Soap Nuts / Soap Berries PIECES - TEN POUNDS! (2000+ Loads) - Seedless "USDA" Organic! - 1

I purchased this directly from Naturoli several months ago but I just saw it on Amazon and thought I would write a review to share my experience. To let you know right up front, I do not work for the company and have no relationship with anyone there except as a satisfied customer.

I tried a sample pack and liked the results so decided to buy the soap nuts (berries actually) in bulk to save some money. I started off by tossing the sample bag of nuts in with my wash and had good results, but think I get better results if I simmer the nuts in water on the stove and make a "tea" with them. I think it gets more of the good stuff (saponin) out of the berries. I found NaturOli on facebook and got some great advice there on how to make the tea.

My tea recipe: I take about 3/4 cup dried soap nuts and put them in a large pot with 2-3 quarts filtered water. I heat almost to a boil then turn down and simmer uncovered for about 2 hours. I smush them down a few times while cooking to extract the good stuff. I let the liquid cool then strain it through an old piece of fabric so I can squeeze all the liquid out of the soggy berries. Store it in the fridge so it doesn't spoil and use about 3/4 C for a wash load. I think it works equally well in hot or cold water. Sometimes I make a double batch and store half in the freezer until I need it.

If you use the nut pieces in the bag, you should let them soak in hot water for a few minutes before throwing the bag into a cold wash.

It is very little work to actually make the tea and I think it cleans much better than just putting the nuts in a bag and throwing it in the machine with clothes. I use it on both hot and cold washes and am thrilled with the results. My colored clothes do not fade and my towels are incredibly fluffy and absorbent! It does not remove stains so I use stain remover for that. It works better in soft water than hard water. We have a water softener, so hard water is not an issue for me. With soap nuts there will be very little suds in the washing machine, but it does get the clothes clean. I have not needed to use fabric softener sheets when washing with soap nuts. The fragrance in detergents and fabric softeners made my skin itch and it is a relief not to deal with that any more.

I have found that the diluted tea works great for washing windows, shining my granite counter tops and appliances, and the tea is great for general light cleaning and car washing. I'm trying to get away from using so many chemicals in our home and feel like this has made a huge difference. If you don't want to go through the bother of making the tea, you can buy a concentrated liquid instead but I actually enjoy making the tea.

People using soap nuts from other sources have reported inconsistent or bad results, so I wouldn't buy from anyone but Naturoli. Buying laundry detergent from a bottle in the grocery store is easier, but it will never get your towels as soft and fluffy as soap nuts. I love the fact that I am helping the environment by using soap nuts but would not have used them if the results had not been so good. Honestly, it was the incredibly fluffy absorbent towels that really did it for me.

I'd wanted to try organic soap nuts for a long time but wasn't sure where to get good quality soap nuts. When comparison shopping on line I found the NaturOli brand which offered everything I wanted. Large quantity for good value; the soap nuts are already broken open so that I don't have to do it; and most of all, they are organic. The nuts themselves don't grow well in the US, so they are imported, but then they are shipped here and from then on all processing, packaging, and sales are done in the USA, also a plus. But that's just the beginning. I LOVE MY LAUNDRY since I started using these. I add 1/4 c vinegar to the wash and soak the soap berries in their muslin bag (included) in hot water for a minute (suggestions NaturOli made); then I throw in the laundry and the bag of soap nuts and wash as usual. Since I usually only do one load a day, they go into the dryer with the load and dry at the same time. I have almost NO STATIC when I take it all out of the dryer and the bag of berries is dry and ready to go for next time. I don't think I'll every go back to laundry soap again, even the eco friendly kind. Cheaper, easier, no laundry softener or dryer sheets, and I have enough to last a very long time. I'd get a couple of extra muslin bags though, because they might wear out before I run out of soap nuts. Highly recommended. And no, I have no connection with the company.

Mysore sandal classic soap

Mysore soap is almost always good, but when I purchased this product, I thought I was purchasing exactly what is pictured here--the cream sandalwood classic. What we received instead was the glycerin version, which has a much more sour scent and doesn't last nearly as long as the pictured soap. Not happy with what I got at all and feel a little as if I've been the victim of a minor bait-and-switch. I wish I could find THIS soap and not the much more disappointing glycerin version that we received.

Provence Sante Big Bar Vetiver 12oz Bar

Most web sites indicate this is a man's fragrant soap but I use it every day and have for many years. The Vetiver has a very delicate scent after bathing, and it goes very well with my Christian Dior Diorella, or no added perfume at all. I've had many compliments on the subtle smell so I highly recommend this soap.
