Nice smell, love that it has no phthalates, etc. Decent lather although I don't know if it's enough for shaving.

I am not sure what I like most about this product... It's a safe alternative to typical showering products (no parabens, sls, etc.) It saves you money and hassle because I use it as shampoo, face wash, shower gel, and shave cream. Not to mention it smells great in my opinion. I am always looking for a less expensive alternative to Dr.Bronner's, which is just silly overpriced. So I ordered this, and you do get a lot of wash for the money.

But it doesn't smell like Citrus and Cedar-it has a sharp, green smell and that is ok. I was just looking forward to the title sniff. My main complaint is that it is hard to rinse off my skin. You have to really use a lot of water, here-get your puffy good and soaked, stay wet while you shower. THEN you get a decent lather, and a chance of getting it rinsed clean. If you have dry skin and buy the "moisturizing" types of body washes, this may not bother you. My body skin is oily and I live in a humid climate-I'm not looking to being covered in wax.

According to the bottle, you can wash your hair in this. DO NOT do that-it's awful. Zero lather, and you'll spend forever trying to figure out if you got it all rinsed out.

It's a decent soap for the bucks at 32 oz. But I wouldn't buy it again

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap, 18-in-1 Hemp Lavender, 32-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2)

This smells fantastic. It's not a fake sweet lavender scent but more of an earthy natural lavender. I put it in foaming soap dispensers and use it as a hand soap. Be careful though. At first I didn't dilute it enough and it dried my sensitive skin out pretty bad. After I added more water it worked great. It doesn't leave my hands feeling soft and smooth but more of a squeaky clean.

I plan to use it for more of its claimed 18 uses!

I use this soap for a lot of things. I used it as a shower soap, bath soak and even as cat shampoo sometimes. I like the squeaky clean feel so i liked it. The only problem is the smell, i didn't mind it as much at first but it got really annoying after a while. I really liked the other citrus type, but lavender not so much. I suggest you go to a local supermarket and smell each type and see which one works best for you before you buy it in bulk.

I had wanted to buy this product for quite some time now, but was always too thrifty to buy it from the stores. When I saw the price for 2 bottles on Amazon, I jumped at it. The product really is as good as it claims. It has so many uses, you can replace a number of products in your household. It also takes very little of the product (compared to others that take a lot of soap to do the job). It can save you a lot of money, replacing other products with this product. It works for household cleaning, hand soap, dish soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and so much more. The only thing I wasn't prepared for is how thin it is. It is more watery than a typical shampoo or hand soap. Doesn't affect its function, but does make it a little harder to control how much comes out.

These smell great! However, I didn't think mine was as pretty as the picture. The Amethyst geode came in looking more like a regular amethyst. None of the pretty pinks and brown swirls in the pic. I haven't tried mine yet and the other I am using in a gift basket. But the seller was super fast getting this out. And I would buy from them again.

The scents of these soaps are not too strong, not too weak, just right. The appearance is so very attractive and accurate in looking like the real thing. It is moisturizing to the skin and the soap lasts a long time. They make lovely gifts. This particular one would suit a man.

Dr. Bronners Baby Unscented 32 oz. Castile Soap ( Multi-Pack)

Beginning 10 or 15 years ago, I started having problems with my skin a kind of itchy irritation on my shins, eyelids and elsewhere. My doctor gave me various kinds of cortisone creams which were effective, but the problem would always return when I stopped applying them. When I researched a bit, I discovered that the most frequent cause of this type of trouble is soap and shampoo! I tried some "extra mild" type soaps and got enough improvement to be encouraged but not as much as I had hoped for. Until finally, I stumbled on to Dr. Bronner's.

Initially, I tried the Almond scented variety. The improvement was quick and complete. I was thrilled, but I didn't really like the scent. That's when I tried the Unscented Baby-mild. Works just as well and no scent except for a barely noticeable "green" aroma. It's almost a year now, and I've not had any recurrence of the skin irritation that used to bother me.

I use it as both soap and shampoo. I am a man and keep my hair reasonably short, but not like I just got out of the Army. After shampooing, my hair is not oily but not dried out. Combs easily without knots. Looks pretty good, I think.

Since it contains no scent and no deodorant, if you sweat you'll smell. Pardon the bluntness but you should know the trade-off you're making.

It makes a nice lather, but it's not very foamy or bubbly. I suspect that some of the chemical additives contained in regular soaps provide this function. It is "thin" rather than creamy. Again, that's probably what other soaps' additives do.

A 32-ounce bottle lasts me, with daily showering, shampooing and generally 1 face-washing, just about 6 weeks. That makes the cost higher than non-organic, non-castile soap and shampoo, but only slightly so. I am happy to pay the difference to get the relief that this product has given me.

If you're going to try it, search Amazon thoroughly. There's more than one listing for this and different listings have different prices, vendors and shipping costs and (occasionally) go on sale at different times, so do a bit of checking before you pull the trigger.

I highly recommend Dr. Bronner's Unscented. I started using it in a spray bottle with baking soda and water because it does not trigger my migraines and when I realized how well it cleaned I started using it to clean pretty much everything in my home.

The scents and chemicals in mainstream cleaners were causing such severe migraines that I could not clean my house. Newer `green' cleaners from Clorox and the like did not help either because of the fragrances. I learned about Dr. Bronner's and gave it a try. The scented versions are too strong for me so I stick with the unscented. Most of my friends like the unscented too because they can add whatever essential oils they need (or are in the mood for) to clean.

Information on the internet for green cleaning is all over the place and there is a lot of bad advice out there. I recommend getting a book on green cleaning that will bring all of the information together check one out from your library or purchase one if you've got a little extra money. For a basic over view of green cleaning I recommend Jill Potvin Schoff's Green Up Your Cleanup (The Green House). For a comprehensive book with a lot of depth, try Renee Loux's Easy Green Living: The Ultimate Guide to Simple, Eco-Friendly Choices for You and Your Home. (I have written reviews on both books.)

The only things I do not use this soap for are washing my hair and doing the dishes. I have really oily hair and the castile soap leaves it very stringy and with a lot of oil in it. I've got several friends who use it as shampoo and they do not have the same problem that I do. I also do not use it for dishes because it is more cost effective for me to get Seventh Generation dish products from Amazon's Subscribe & Save program. As a side note, Dr. Bronner's works great with oxygen bleach (like OxyClean) for laundry, but I use Seventh Generation laundry soap and oxygen bleach instead because it is more cost effective per load.

Yes, the writing on the bottle is kooky, but nothing says you have to read it. This castile soap works better then any other castile soap I've tried. I do not normally spend money with companies that speak in terms of religion, but given the safeness and effectiveness of the product combined with their IMO certified fair trade practices to purchase organic ingredients, I don't care WHAT the label says.

The product contains: water, saponified organic coconut & olive oils, organic glycerin, organic hemp oil, organic jojoba oil, citric acid, and Vitamin E.

I found this product while searching online for a natural product to bathe my children with. I ended up buying a small bottle at Whole Foods to see if I liked it before spending $21.00 on two Giant Bottles. Let me tell you the small bottle at Whole Foods was 8 oz and $6.00 so Amazon has an amazing deal. I was so excited to try it on my kids that I gave them a bath right away. It lathers up very well and rinses very easily. The only downside to this particular variety is that there is no scent really. It kind of has an olive oily scent for a second and then it rinses off. My kids have soft skin after using this though and I have no need to put lotion on them afterwards. I love this and plan on using this for a long time to come. I even used it on myself and couldn't beleive how moisturized my skin felt afterwards. A little goes a long way too my little 8 oz bottle will last a long time afterwards I will definately be buying from Amazon. I just wish they had on Subscribe and Save so that I would never run out. Give it a try!

This makes great foaming hand soap. I put about a half inch of soap in an empty, thoroughly cleaned Dial or Method foaming soap dispenser and fill it up with water. You can adjust the mixture to your desired level of creaminess. I use the unscented foam to wash vegetables, but the peppermint is my favorite for hands. One gallon lasted me about 3 years, so it's a cheaper as well as safer alternative to commercial hand soaps. I've been using the same dispensers for five years, and they are starting to stick in the down position, but it's easy enough to pull them up. After reading reviews of several foam soap dispensers offered on Amazon, I'd rather purchase more Dial dispensers, pour out the toxic soap, and refill them with the Dr. Bronner's mixture.

I can't say enough good things about this soap!! I first came across Dr. Bronner's soap when I was looking for a mild, fragrance free (ie phalate free), non-toxic soap for my baby. Dr. Bronner's came highly recommended by our pediatrician and friends with babies. We've been using it as shampoo, body wash, and laundry detergent for our baby and it's been great! I first bought this about 3-4 years ago at a Grecian festival and right away noticed a tremendous improvement with my skin, especially on my back and face where I had the most trouble.

Soap bars were packaged in bundles of three instead of six, as pictured, and within the shipment window stated. The individual packages arrived over the course of several days time directly from Greece. But since the entire shipment eventually got to me undamaged I'm not particularly concerned. Otherwise the olive oil soap itself is excellent, having that typical organic smell and good lather. The bars are large, last a long time and easily are worth the price. Proactiv Cleansing Bar Duo Soap ( Two Bars )

I bought these ProActive cleansing bars for my daughter, who has occasional acne breakouts on her shoulders and upper back. We've tried all kinds of astringents, body washes, back scrubbers, and acne medications with mixed results. The bottom line is that she has the best luck when keeping her hair pulled up off her shoulders and keeping her skin clean.

These bars work well to remove body oil and keep pores open. The little beads in these bars gently exfoliate dead skin, and the salicylic acid combats acne and dries out pimples. But what I like most of all is that we didn't have to purchase a whole ProActiv kit or regimen.

I would like to add that when we ordered this product in July 2011, we paid $17.95 with free SuperSaver shipping (on orders over $25). The same product is now $25, which will impact whether we order it again.

I bought this bar a few months ago because it was cheaper than buying the 3 step system. I was not pleased at first because it left my skin really dry and did not keep me from having breakouts like the cleanser did. I recently started applying the bar directly to my skin instead of lathering it in my hand and then applying it to my skin (face and body). Applying the bar directly to your skin allows the exfoliation of the beads in the bar to remove what it needs to remove. Now my skin looks just as good as it did when I used the cleanser! I would suggest this as a replacement to the cleanser because it lasts way longer and is easier to use!

I completely understand that everybody's skin is different. I suffer from minor acne on my face but have severe acne on my chest, back and shoulders. I was really having second thoughts about this product, but I decided to give it a try.

Nice bar soap not made from petrochemicals and lasts longer than other "moisturizing" soaps, such as Caress and Dove. Within a month, or less, of using this soap, I discovered that I was able to give up my body lotion because I did not have dry skin any longer. That is the advantage of using body care products without strong detergents. Husband likes it too, and does not have itchy "winter" skin anymore. Expensive, as compared to regular soaps, but definitely worth it, given the natural ingredients and the money saved on NOT having to lather my body in skin cream after every shower.
