Love the packaging of all in the "Fame" line. I ended up purchasing the soap, cologne, and lotion. It looks and smells very alluring at first, though doesn't long. One tried and true fragrance test is the amounts of comments and compliments I receive while wearing it. Sorry to say, I got none with this fragrance. Hopefully it's just not for me, it really does smell nice when first applied and I will keep testing it when in the mood to be more discreet.So I got the lotion yesterday and OMG it smells amazing...I can't believe what I was smelling!!!!!!! You have to have this. African Ivory Shea Butter Cream 16 Oz. (100% Pure & Raw) Pack of 2
This is my third purchase of shea butter from amazon, my first was the yellow unrefined raw shea butter which was very smokey and chunky but melted nicely in your hands. The second was the ivory filtered and creamy shea butter, very nice thick, kind of hard consistency and very mild smelling also melted nicely in your hands. This order was suppossed to be ivory but I was sent the yellow, which again is very smokey smelling and it was also very grainy like it had been melted. If it were the ivory Im sure it would have been muh better. Amazon also resolved my mix up promptly which was great and I pkaced an order for the ivory filtered and creamy.I have placed four orders for shea butter, all supplied by halaleveryday and were all labeled from body butter store, one yellow and the others ivory and everytime I was sent totally different shea butter. So beware that if you order once the next time will most likely be different in consistency and smell. I agree with other reviews that this is not pure shea butter and has something added to it.

The Shea Institute has a great fact sheet all about what real shea butter is and the importance of testing, I learned that the government nor any other agency requires shea butter to be tested for quality and safety prior to selling. It is simply good business to do so and it is voluntary. This is the only way to certify a grade for the shea butter. So, if the shea butter is advertised as "grade A" it should display the seal of the American Shea Butter Institute. If it states it is grade A but does not carry the shield of the American Shea Butter Institute it is not actually graded and that butter is considered Lotto Grade Shea butter. This means you do not know what you have, it may be good, or it maybe your worst nightmare. Laboratory testing will include a safety screen, shelf life determination, and size of bioactive friction. Untested shea butter undesirables include, products of rancidity, mold, yeast, bacteria, fungus, coliform bacteria, lead, mercury,and other undesirables. Long story short I won't be ordering my shea butter again on amazon! I will order thru coastal scents from now on!

I was so excited to get my pure and raw shea butter in the mail. I was quickly dissapointed when I opened the package and saw that the butter was yellow instead of ivory in color. Not slight yellow, mustard yellow. So I figured I'd apply the butter to my skin and see how it does. It first of all smells like rancid oil. It did not sink in my skin, it remained on top of my skin and was soooo greasy, like I put crisco on my skin. From what I understand, "pure" shea butter does eventually sink into the skin and is not mustard yellow. Its possible they sent me the "gold" version of the shea butter, even though the plastic wrap it came in clearly states "100% Pure & Raw". Im feeling a little duped right now.UPDATE: 5/22/12 I found some "pure" ivory shea butter from a mall kiosk of all places, and it is all I had hoped this product would be. The pure shea butter moisturizes so great and makes my skin feel like silk. This Amazon shea butter made my skin actually feel dry by the end of the day, I think it is shea butter mixed with oil which may be good for hair, but not good for my skin. Im so happy I found "pure" shea butter, it just was not from THIS seller. Do not buy from this seller, you just dont know what you're going to get.

I'm a 25 yo African American, with high porosity/dry prone hair....and this stuff works! My hair soaks it in and feels so soft. I use it everywhere, face & body and it leaves me so soft. It says that it is ivory Shea butter but in fact it is very yellow. It still goes on very thick and smooth. It lasts a long tome as well.

My search for the perfect soap is completely over! Kirks Original Castile Soap is the best you can buy! I truly do not care for wacky body soaps with scents. They never seem to get your skin clean.Several friends kept telling me that this was the best however no one around here sells it so I was never able to try it. I just happened upon it in Cracker Barrel and picked up a bar.
Oh my! The lather was unbelievable! The scent was clean and not overpowering! My skin felt nourished and clean! I even washed my hair with it and it left a clean shine to my hair. It was an answer to a prayer years in the making from a search for the perfect soap. No more will I buy anything else!
If you buy this by the case unwrap each bar and store them in you linen closet. The longer soap sits out to "dry" the longer it lasts. Most soap is milled and used too quickly to properly dry. It will make your closet smell fresh plus the soap will properly dry and cure. Dry soap will last several more months than soap that is not dry.
Do yourself a favor and start using this soap! Some people even make their laundry soap with Kirks Original Castile Soap.
Note that you may be able to find this cheaper locally, (much, much cheaper) but it'd still be worth every penny they're asking for here.

Look no further. This is by far the best soap you can buy. It's creamy and soft. I have used all kinds of soap for my face and my son introduced me to Kirk's Castile about 4 years ago. Since the 1st time I tried it, I have used no other. I am an older woman and would never want to dry out my face. I use Kirk's every night and it leaves my skin moist and supple.Try it you won't be disappointed. If, my rare chance you don't like it, you can mail me the left over bars. LOL

This is the best soap EVER! I can't believe it isn't a best selling soap. It is the best lathering soap, with a silky clean feel. It has a mild, clean smell and no extra perfumes or chemicals.I am sorry it has disappeared from stores. Is it the label that turns people off? It can't be the product, unless people are looking for chemicals and strong smells.

i got this bc i have dreads and needed a nice, natural soap that would be easily rinsed out, given the hard water we have in my area... and it worked great!! smells really good, not strong just a slight nice refreshing clean scent, i was able to add EO's (i shaved off a few pieces and made a dilluted liq shampoo) into it and now it smells even more WONDERFUL!!!got here fast! very pleased and i definitely recommend to anyone!
