What a wonderful soap. The great licorice scent is a favorite in our family and the soap really really cleans. The soaps ability to remove odors and not mask them is second to none as we found out after working in the yard during the hot days over the summer. It removes tree sap well and does an amazing job on grease and oil. We've been using it as a shampoo replacement and it leaves hair soft and manageable. This is a large bar of soap that seems to last a long time. We look forward to trying other soaps from Honest Amish. For Men, this and the Honest Amish Beard Balm Leave-in Conditioner is a great combination as both have the wonderful licorice scent. The only way to make this soap better is if they would sell this by the crate.

I am a soldier serving in Iraq, where as you may know, it gets pretty hot here. After a full day out in the desert sun in all of my gear, I find myself dreaming of the moment when I can get in the shower and cool off with Dr. Bronner's soap. It works great. Lathers great, and leaves me feeling cleaner than chemical soaps, not to mention the fact that it feels very cool and tingly. Although I am military, which may go against what Dr. Bronner's philosophy suggests, I am a country boy who loves the outdoors, and the conservation and protection of our environment. I will always choose products made in America so as to support the businesses of my fellow Americans, and will always choose organic items over those items which use ingredients that I can't pronounce, or in which animals are senselessly wasted.I suggest you use this product for all the right reasons.

It comes in funky orange packaging, has a strong medicinal smell, but man ..it's the best soap I've ever used!Previous to switching to Dr. Bronner's, I was using some run of the mill Sam's Club body wash. I had problems with back acnie, oil buildup (especially around the nose) and fungus (itching).
I remember washing with it for the first time, not knowing what to expect (if anything). After rising off, I actually felt clean! Those oily areas were no longer oily. Drying off, my skin felt tighter and smoother. As time went on, I noticed that a certain area was a lot less itchy and irritated. My backnie problem went from multiple large sores to one small one at the moment. Same with the face zits are a lot less common and generally smaller. I also had a problem with facial hair becoming partially ingrown, resulting in either zits or inflammation. It was so bad that they would catch my electric razor and start bleeding every time I shaved. Today, I can usually shave without bleeding! I used to have bad chlorine itch after swimming. After washing off with this, I had no problems with chlorine itch.
There are things it's not good for, though. First, it'll strip every bit of oil and crud right out of your hair. Mine becomes a straw-textured, fluffy mess if I just use Bronner's. About once a week, I'll wash my hair with it, then use my normal shampoo/conditioner this prevents product buildup. My hair feels softer and more manageable after doing this.
I would also advise against using it as a hand soap. After multiple uses per day, my hands started peeling because they got so dried out. Oh... and keep it away from the eyes. It really stings.
I ran out of this stuff over Christmas break and couldn't find it locally, so I switched back to the body wash. Sure enough, the backnie returned, along with the fungus and everything else.
What makes it so special anyway?
First, the formulation used is simply effective no filler, no scents, just good soap. Second and most important is the Tea Tree Oil, which is a really good natural antiseptic. This explains its effectiveness with acne, fungus and the like. Secondly, it's very anti-inflammatory, hence the "skin tightening" effect.

I've been buying this soap for years, but I'm afraid this vendor's stock is so old that it completely lost any trace of it's scent. I called the manufacturer (Dr. Bronner's) and they told me it must have been at least 2-3 years old to have no scent remaining. Rather than hassle with the vendor, Dr. Bronner's was nice enough to send me a replacement.I've discovered that these are stocked at Whole Foods perhaps it is better to buy them where you can see if they are fresh.

The peppermint scented soap has real peppermint oil in it, and that is the secret to the tingle! The ingredients are all natural, no man-made chemicals, no animal testing, and organic too! I love the way my skin feels after washing with this soap, squeaky-clean, and tingly. This soap it great for waking up your senses! I also love that it will not leave a nasty soap scum on my shower, bathtub or sink. I am usually VERY particular about the shampoo I use, but I tried this soap out on my hair too, just for the heck of it. My naturally curly hair needs some form of conditioner or it gets frizzy so I follwed up with my usual leave-in anti-friz product and my hair looked great. It didn't leave my hair feeling dry, or heavy, but instead it felt light and bouncy, and my curls seemed to have a better definition. So, now I soap up from head to toe with Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap, and I feel good about my choice.
Aoqili Seaweed Soap
I must say that I didn't but this for weight loss, but for skin. I tried a different seaweed soap and it was wonderful for my skin so much so that I could skip wearing lotion. Since that soap is very pricey I considered this soap. It is ok as far as leaving skin soft and adding moisture. The other soap was better. This soap has a fragrance that I am not too happy with, but it does die down after a while. Also immediately after bathing I was kind of itchy whereas seaweed tends to be soothing. Will not repurchase.

I really love this soap. It has a nice fragrance, really cleans and exfoliates, and leaves my skin incredibly soft! My only complaint is that I wish I had bought more than one bar! I take two showers a day and one bar lasted me a week. So, if you only take one shower, you should get 2 weeks of usage out of one bar. I am a long-time user of cold process lye soap. I made my own for several years and then continued purchasing homemade soap once I stopped making my own.My skin is sensitive and I had high hopes for this soap. Let me start by saying that it is truly fragrance free and has a wonderful lather and feel to it. But it is a milled soap and as such it dries my skin. I showered with it three times and my skin became so dry it was burning and itchy. I have switched back to my cold process soap.
Now that I have 12 bars I will use it as a hand soap in the bathroom and probably give some as a gift. If you are used to supermarket soap or other hard, milled soap you will probably love this stuff. I *want* to be able to use it because I really do like the feel of it, but will have to settle for using it as a hand soap and not a shower soap.
I bought this product and tested its PH. It has a PH of 9 and is extremely basic.
The product is marketed as "Goat's Milk Soap" but is really a vegetable oil soap with goats milk as an additive. The soap's PH is much higher than real goat's milk soap should be.
The soap is probably better than typical store bar soaps, but it does not have the full benefits of real goats milk soap and it is not PH balanced!I really like this soap because I suffer from eczema very badly. I especially like using it on my face it takes dead skin away very effectively. I first bought this soap in a specialty store and decided to try it because it was fragrance free and natural. When I bought this pack it did not seem as potent at that one I bought but I still enjoy using it. The dead skin just fall right off. Great buy.This is the "best" soap. My husband has sensitive skin & this soap is wonderful for that.It lasts a long time & another plus is that it does not get soggy like some bar soaps do.Great product!

I wanted to find a good natural soap that I could order through the "subscribe & save" program on Amazon and Dr. Bronner's (my usual choice) wasn't available so I gave this a try. I've since gone through 2 bottles of it and am loving it. It's a nice, gentle soap with a pleasant minty smell not overpowering, not chemical-ly. It feels less harsh than the Dr. Bronner's peppermint I used to use, on a daily basis that's a good thing for me, but if you like the strong menthol smell and tingly feeling of the Dr. Bronner's you may not like this one as much. This is an excellent daily wash soap at a great price.

I bought this Castile soap looking for something nice and mild to bathe my son with. Wasn't sure how "grassy mint" was going to smell, but oh boy, I just love this. Even my son likes the smell, he will sniff appreciatively when I start to apply it to him. It reminds me of what Celestial Seasoning's Tension Tamer tea smells like. Very minty, with a hint of herb-y green tea scent.It does a good job getting him clean without stripping all the natural oils like most shampoos. I will admit his hair doesn't look quite so squeaky-clean as with regular baby shampoo, but that's because regular shampoos strip all the natural oils from the hair, whereas this one doesn't.
I've even used it on my own hair with great results. I can't resist the smell, sort of a "Calgon, take me away" moment in the shower.

I have primarily used this soap in the shower and as hand soap. It is a rather watery soap, but it does lather very well. It works great in foaming hand soap dispensers. I use it as a shampoo and as a body wash and really enjoy how it smells and the way it makes my skin and hair feel. I think it really helps with taking care of black heads on my face, since I noticed them clearing up after I started using this soap and that was the only change I've made. I think it's probably due to castile soap removing dirt, but not over-drying the skin and stripping away oil. But your mileage may vary.This didn't smell quite like I would have guessed. I like candles and air fresheners that have that sweet/fresh-cut grass scent. But this has more of a sweet-mint smell, almost like spearmint. It's not overwhelmingly minty, just nice and light. I've tried Dr. Bronner's mint castile soap before and it was much more intensely minty.
Now I want to try the other scents available, too.

everytime I wash my hands with this I feel like I'm rubbing minty gum around my hands. It smells like mint. not very strong but strong enough to feel awkward.I don't know why but this scent is different than lemongrass scent. This soap doesn't wash well. I tried to wash dishes with this and it leaves all the oily feeling to the dish and doesn't wash at all.

I admit, this was an impulse purchase! There's realy nothing special about these soaps other than fact that they're all natural and smell nice which means they will dry your skin out most of the time. I use them but I wont be ordering them again, not worth the price espceially when it's a average sized soap bar. I'd rather buy Crabtree & Evelyn Jojoba Oil Triple-Milled Soap and really get my moneys worth with real moisturizing properties.

Primal Elements describes this soap's scent as "minty," and it's certainly thatit has a definite mint note. But there's a number of other notes as well, and I'd describe this more accurately as an herbal/woody mint, as there's some clear wood-based notes. The scent is fairly masculine. 100% authentic Lifebuoy soap made in Cyprus by Unilever. I never got a chance to use the original US made product, but Mom always swore by this stuff, using it as a bath soap and as a shampoo. It's a bit on the expensive side, but not too bad in comparison to other premium soaps.Here are the specification from the exterior box: The weight of the soap bar "85 g (3 oz)", making it smaller than regular bars of soap available in the US, but it's easy to handle in the shower or next to the sink.
The ingredients are: "Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua, Glycerin. Parfum, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Limonene, Linalool, Cl 11680, Cl 45100". The last two are colors FWIW.
We are happy to have re-discovered this soap, some may think the smell is strong and too medicinal, we think its refreshing. Frankly, the antibacterial properties are the primary feature of this soap and that's why we wanted it, and we love it.

Did tons of research on Lifebouy (LifeBoy). Web sites are confusing as all get out! Uk formula, India formula, some say really strong medicinal smell, others say reminds em of childhood! This formula doesn't work well for wife and me. Too medicinal, too strong not at all what we remembered. Maybe it's just us and our smellers are getting tired (really don't think so), maybe we're thinking of another olden days soap, whatever! We'd return it but it's not worth the hassell. There is not a lot to say about soap. I happen to like this one. I like how it smells and how it feels on my skin. While it does not smell precisely as I remember Lifebuoy smelling... that was a long, long time ago and it is certainly close. :-) My great great grandmother swore by it and used only it. That would be in the 1950s in my memory. She was also using it long before that.I am not competent to address serious skin conditions and the like but it does help with minor rashes and such. I admit I did not expect it to ring bells or do anything but be a good clean smelling soap; a role it fulfills perfectly. I will be buying more. All I can say is each person is going to have to try things for themselves. Sometimes it will be great and sometimes it will turn out not to be for you. Nothing ventured and all that.

I discovered this interesting red soap in a pharmacy in Gibraltar. It was in a cardboard box, with no cellophane wrap. It was also made in Cyprus, so I'm almost certain this is the old Lifebuoy familiar to some in the states. I'd never smelled anything quite like it, but I bought a few bars to take home as souvenirs. It works as well as any other soap, and I didn't notice anything special about it other than the scent. I am not sure how to describe the odor, other there might be a hint of pine tar. It isn't for everybody, but for those who enjoy a change from the normal American soaps, give Lifebuoy a try. If you can't stand the scent, it really works well, and for a very long time, as a freshener for closets or drawers.Follow up 9/17/2012.
I placed an order for this soap from this seller. I received it faster than expected, and I appreciate the excellent service. Unfortunately, it is NOT the soap I remember and love. The box is cleverly copied, but the scent isn't even remotely similar. I agree with other reviewers about the confusion over this soap. I won't even use this, and it isn't worth the bother to return.
