My parents recommended this for me as they had used it in the past. I have now used it for about a month, every other day or so and my hair feels firmer and is easier to style as well.

This is the procedure recommended that I follow:

1. Overnight, put oil on my hair. Coconut or any other that you wish.

2. Wash it off in the morning with this soap and use any conditioner of choice.

3. Enjoy nice hair.

This is the first time that I've tried Shikakai and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I've been using this bar without the pre-oiling or the use of conditioner as I wanted to set my new color (the last time I used coconut oil in the first week it stripped some of the color from my herbal henna color). This Shikakai bar washes my hair squeaky clean, yet leaves it feeling soft and looking healthy and shiny! I would have given it 5 stars, but I have odor sensitivities and it's just a bit perfumey smelling to me although it doesn't make me feel weak from the smell like so many traditional shampoos do.

This product felt really harsh on my hair. It isn't possible to use this soap without using a conditioner at the same time. The soap is mild and smells good, but not for hair. I bought two and used only half of one. I just couldn't deal with the dryness it caused.

was trying to find a shampoo bar to replace basin shampoo bars which are small and expensive. this is ok as soap but it leaves your hair feeling gummy, much like a common bar of ivory which is much less expensive for the same effect
