I was in a hurry and needed a cheap, but good soap for my very dry skin (Black woman with dry, thick skin challenges). I took a chance on this because my local discount store had a great bargain on it, and I remember liking olive oil-based soaps. This one is a square block and you may want to cut in half first...
After using it for about a month, I realized that my skin was not only softer, and my showering experiencing more relaxing, but that my skin responded to my body peels and lotions better than ever before.
This is different from pure olive oil soaps I've used. It looks like "daphne" is some kind of bath salt derived from lanolin (at least that's what the package indicated).
I personally like the fresh,"greenish" smell of the soap, and think it would work well for men as well as women, but scent is always a personal choice.
FYI, the softness stays, the scent dissipates.
Hope this helps you in your choice.
