I like this soap, it has a decent smell and it lathers VERY well. My only complaint is that I was under the impression that black soap would help with acne and it hasn't BUT looking back at the sellers description of this product, it does not say it should.

This soap has a very nice smell, cleans well. This was my first time using and I plan to continue. I gave 4stars because of the residue it leaves in the soap dish, but other than that it's a nice soap and the price is moderate considering it' s purpose for using. I will be buying more.

The soap is OK but it is no longer the carbolic (acid) one of the past with the special smell. The new smell was therefore disappointing.The carbolic red soap is still manufactured by Lever in Cyprus for instance I read. But no longer in England or America.

Black Opal Blemish Control Complexion Bar
I have been using this soap for about a week now (as well as the full 3-step acne treatment) and my skin is so smooth now.I haven't gotten any new breakouts and my complexion has begun to even itself out.
I have very oily skin so I use this soap in the mornings before I apply my make-up because it really controls the shine. I use it everyday since my skin never dries out(!) and at the end of the day my face is not quite matte but it's certainly a lot less shiny which is amazing and stops the embarrassment of my usual oil-slicked face.
It smells almost minty but it's a very faint smell. I rub is on my cheeks, chin and forehead and then rub it in using circular motions on my face and neck, I then use a small facial exfoliation pad and then wash it off. When it's washed off your face does feel completely naked and it has that feeling of being completely oil-free that you can only get with soap. I then use the Pore Minimising Toner followed by the Daily Fade Creme SPF 15 (which contains 2% hydroquinone) always with completely dry and clean hands (no lotions applied beforehand)
I definitely recommend this.
