I love this soap! I have used it years ago, and it made my complexion even toned and smooth. I started using this soap last week and I must say I see the change in my skin already. This soap is also good for controlling eczema. I have used dove soap for sensitive skin for years and recently it has flared up my eczema. I made the switch last week and lets just say, I do not know why I stop using it. Another praise for this soap is it deep cleans my skin without over drying. I do recommend this soap for anyone looking for a moisturizing and deep cleaning soap. Just excellent!

Scanning the Internet for Greek-made products to purchase, I found an online store that sold Greek foods, gifts and beauty products, including this soap. In addition to my food purchase, my first order included Papoutsanis Lavender and Magnolia aromatic soap. When opening the box upon arrival, the perfume smell was overwhelming. After letting the apartment air out, I unwrapped the bars and began using them regularly as satisfied customer. In fact, Papoutsanis can expect another repeat customer. The soaps add a nice scent to the bathroom that is just right and not as overwhelming as my initial exposure.The one downside of this product is that it does dry the skin. These are not moisturizing olive oil soaps but conventional hard soaps presumably made from an alkaline substance. As such, they are excellent cleaning soaps for hands but are probably not good for hair as the Greek olive oil soap are.
The strategy of helping the faltering Greek economy through small purchases is tenuous. Yet, there are excellent Greek soaps, wines, olives, figs, cheeses easily obtainable in the United States, which don't cost all that much more than common alternatives. Admittedly, this is putting a band-aid on a bullet wound, but it can't hurt the Greek export economy. If you are looking for an inexpensive soap that produces a pleasing scent, give the Papoutsanis aromatic soaps a try.

This is a soap that I have used in the kitchen, laundry in the machine and hand washing, and the bathroom shower and sink. It is fantastic. I have also used it in a diluted strength spray bottle for my flowers in the garden (keeps bugs from eating the leaves and petals). I think it is versatile and smells great. I highly recommend it. It is used daily somewhere in our home!

I'm a 31 yo woman and had never had trouble with my skin, not even in my teenage years, until going off the Pill last year. When the zits arrived, I quickly discovered that the usual drugstore suspects weren't helping. The zits weren't the normal ones I'd had occasionally in my life these were deep, they hurt, and they laughed at 10% benzoyl peroxide. In addition to my face, they were all over my chest, neck, and back. Thank goodness it was winter and I could wear turtlenecks! Google research pointed me to African black soap and I found it from this seller.I've waited 3 months to write this review, and I can tell you unequivocally that this has completely cleared my skin without the need for any other products. I must use it daily for it to work, and I notice pimples beginning to reappear overnight if I skip it before bed. It can be a little drying during the winter, so I follow with a light moisturizer. I use a rotating face brush (Clarisonic, Olay, etc) when I feel my skin needs extra cleansing and I think the two work well together.
After a few weeks of letting the soap work and my skin calm down, I gradually reintroduced all the anti-aging lotions & potions I've been using for years with great effect. I probably didn't need to wait so long and I could have reintroduced them sooner. So yes, it can work with your usual skincare routine; just replace your cleanser with this.
I've read online to use witch hazel as a toner with it. I find that a bit too drying for my skin, but I plan to try again in the summer when my skin's oily. People with oily skin may want to try that right off.
As others have said, this does "melt" quickly, but the brick you receive is huge and the product's so inexpensive, it's no big concern. Once while trying to slice off a thin bar, the soap broke into chunks the sizes of various coins I've found I like using those because then I'm not losing much soap to "melt" in the shower.
As someone else described, there are little pieces of ash or wood in the soap. Just be aware of them and pry them out with your fingernail, problem solved. I choose to lather the soap in my hands rather than applying the bar to my skin for this reason.
Ladies, this does a fair job removing makeup. I choose to use eye makeup remover because I wear waterproof mascara, but the soap's been fine at getting off whatever's left of my foundation by the end of the day.
This is a product I've been recommending to everyone I know with skin problems! I feel a bit fanatical, but it's really been that good for me. Give it a try you'll only be out a few dollars and it just might work for you.

This is the fourth type of African Black Soap that I have purchased and tried and it is by far the best. It's very natural and leaves your skin feeling very clean. I actually cut the block in half and have two very good sized bars of soap. I had tried cheaper bars and they did not even compare to this one. Also the liquid soap I bought had too much conditioner in it and left you feeling almost coated, unlike this soap. It's also done a great job of clearing up my skin. i was a tad iffy about ordering this off of here but once i received it and tried it out i was in love. this stuff is amazing. i have oily & sensitive skin that can cause rashes at times. this black soap is helping out with it all.
Tea Tree Therapy EUCALYPTUS SOAP
Good soap. Lasted a long time. Eucalyptus is very strong in this which i happen to like. Worth a shot if you like tea tree oil or eucalyptus products.
