Pine Tar Soap

Just finished my first bar and have to say this soap does work nicely on the skin. Did not dry out my skin like other soaps either. Each bar is a bit pricey but i would certainly buy again. Next time i hope they're on sale ;-)))

Very good and full of natural ingredients. Lathers thick and fast and rinses clean. My skin feels very soft after using and the scent is not strong-just fresh. Not much of a Pine Tar effect. The seller does a great job and is well worth using. Couldnt be happier with the soap and how it works. If it contained more Pine Tar would be a five star product easily.

I was having trouble with generalized itching from dry skin. I had tried a homemade pine soap before and it was very helpful. Unfortunately, I was unable to buy the same soap. Based on the other reviews for other pine soaps, I was worried that the pine smell would be too strong and the soap would be harsh. It is not at all. I am pleased with my purchase. It has relieved the itching and leaves my skin soft and smooth. I am ready to order some more. I should add that we have hard water which contributes to the dry skin.

This is the first time I have purchased pine tar soap. At first I was disappointed that the soap did not have a pine scent. After using the soap there is nothing that compares to the amount of lather that it creates and the smooth clean feeling it gives without any dry skin harshness.

The smell of this stuff is indescribable. It is not a pretty, pine scent and is actually sort of medicinal. It does seem to keep the mosquitoes off me which is what I bought it for anyway. I'll keep using it till mosquito season is over.

I use this bar for my face. I have combination dry skin with occasional breakouts. My skin tone is uneven and I struggle to find a cleanser that leaves my skin looking fresh and calmed. I have this soap in my bathroom and I absolutely love the scent. I can always tell when my husband washes his hands because I can smell the lavender when he gets near me. The dispenser allows just enough soap to squirt out without draining a quarter of the bottle, and one squirt is enough for good lathering. I wish this was a tad bit cheaper, but it's worth it.

The Method hand wash is thick enough that one pump will do the job and the aroma is excellent. The only true lavender hand soap on the market. Well worth the price.

Very strong smell, doesn't take much to get the job done and leave the entire bathroom smelling like lavender. Kind of harsh on my hands, but lotion helped and a lot of other soaps have been harsher.

Overall, good. No problems with leaking or delivery. Oh, but to get the pumps working I had to pull off the top and then stick it back on, for a few of the bottles at least. (I've had to do this with other things before, so maybe it's normal?)

As a side note, if you wash your hands for the full 20 seconds (four deep breaths), that's supposed to be just as good as antibacterial handsoap, without any of the chemicals.

I just love the soap itself. I looked for months to find an affordable and authentic lavender hand soap.

I am not at all disappointed with the product itself and look forward to the lovely scent each time I wash my hands. The problem I have is with the dispenser itself. Out of the six bottles in my order, there are only two in which the pump device turns to the open position. It is annoying that I will have to switch the pump to another bottle in order to use or pour the soap from a new bottle into the old. Anyway, I do love the fragrance and the price was good.

My search for the perfect soap is completely over! Kirks Original Castile Soap is the best you can buy! I truly do not care for wacky body soaps with scents. They never seem to get your skin clean.

Several friends kept telling me that this was the best however no one around here sells it so I was never able to try it. I just happened upon it in Cracker Barrel and picked up a bar.

Oh my! The lather was unbelievable! The scent was clean and not overpowering! My skin felt nourished and clean! I even washed my hair with it and it left a clean shine to my hair. It was an answer to a prayer years in the making from a search for the perfect soap. No more will I buy anything else!

If you buy this by the case unwrap each bar and store them in you linen closet. The longer soap sits out to "dry" the longer it lasts. Most soap is milled and used too quickly to properly dry. It will make your closet smell fresh plus the soap will properly dry and cure. Dry soap will last several more months than soap that is not dry.

Do yourself a favor and start using this soap! Some people even make their laundry soap with Kirks Original Castile Soap.

As a long time user of natural soap I simply refuse to pay the price for Dr. Bronners or Tom's of Maine. These cost way too much. So the other options are Kirk's Castille Soap or Cal-Ben Five Star Soap. Also several brands of clear glycerine soaps are available, but these don't lather very well. I bought both Kirk's and Cal-Ben and tried them out. Both are excellent and very similar. Cal-Ben is 3 oz compared to Kirk's 4 oz but it seems harder and more compressed, thus longer lasting. They both lather up about the same amount. Kirk's has an Ivory type smell where the Cal-Ben has an extremely nice almond scent. The Cal-Ben seems to cut through dirt a little better. Kirk's is a nice soap but I give Cal-Ben the edge. Both cost about the same.

I have very sensitive skin, in addition to a condition known as keratosis pilaris, commonly called chicken skin. An uncurable condition that causes unsightly small red bumps on the arms, torso, and legs. Most cleansers and skin care products only aggravate this condition. i'm not a snob. i'm just a regular joe. i don't drink cristal or stay in 12-star hotels or sleep on 5-million thread count sheets. but since i used this soap several years ago on a whim, i've never used anything else.

this soap makes handfuls of creamy lather and cleans grime better than most bar soaps. it rinses off cleanly and leaves behind a very mild, clean scent. i even travel with it, leaving a bar behind when i check out of the motel or leave a friend's house.

there are two possible downsides to this fantastic soap: first, it is a very 'soft' soap, meaning it dissolves quickly. if you leave it on the little soap shelf in the stream of the shower, it will disappear way before its time. second, it can irritate very young, tender skin if it's not rinsed promptly. keeping these qualities in mind, this is the only soap in my world. so i guess i'm a soap snob? so be it.

notethere's a liquid version of this soap, and it's good but not as good as the bars.

This soap is a great deodorant soap. You are left very clean and fresh smelling. It is good for minor itching. The only negative is that it can be drying to the skin. You need a good moisturizing oil after using it. However, if you get very dirty or you work in the healthcare, this is the soap for you!

I did a little research on this product before I purchased it for I wasn't familiar with its specific uses. I have sensitive skin so caution must be taken when I apply a product. I began using African black soap about two years ago and used it on my face. WOW! I have had acne issues since my teen years and have tried everything from Clearasil to prescription facial washes. This by far beats them all. Yeah it crumbles a little but dampen it a bit and squish it back together, it works just fine. I've been using this for two weeks now and it has done wonders for pimples on my face . It heals them up at 2-3 days. Some how i had ringworms growing on my neck for a few weeks, the soap zapped them in 5 days, no itching, no open wounds, just some scarring left over. As for the acne scars on my face, its taking a little while to go away but that's understandable because scars take time since it is deeper than the top layer of skin. Just be careful when you have open pimples while washing; it will sting! and dont washing too much around your eyes bc the soap is a bit harsh. BUT if you moisturize after, the sting goes away. The soap is a little bit drying also but moisturizing after will fix that too. A little bit goes a long way; two weeks and I'm not even halfway yet. I cut lil pieces every week because it lathers SO well. Make sure you are NOT rubbing the soap on your face, i found small little grains of rocks but just take them out. Instead, take the soap in your hand, put some water and rub together. It WILL clean your whole face with just a small piece of soap. Do NOT let the soap sit in water because the water erodes the soap very easily. If you want a nice soap that will MAKE YOUR PORES SMALLER, FACE SMOOTHER, AND CLEAN WITHOUT STRIPPING THE NATURAL OILS IN YOUR FACE, BUY THIS SOAP! its worth it. If you're skeptical, buy a small bar like I did. But best believe, I am buying a 12lb for my body and to last me a while !! Its also good for your hair ! INVEST !

I bought this item to work on my moderate acne, and to help clear up dark spots on my face. I was unable to give the soap time to see if the spots would clear because is was so very drying. It actually made my existing acne worse, and dried out my face considerably.

It may work for you if you are prepared to get a lot worse before getting better. The owner called and offered to send me some Shea Butter for my troubles (which I thought was very nice, and excellent customer service) but it never arrived.
