A most wonderful scent and I was sad to see that it has been discontinued. I gave as a gift and also added to my collection. The bathroom is filled with the scent and the soap has been one of my very favorites. Maybe they will bring it back to their line! I hope so.
This is the bar of soap I have been looking for all of my life. I was looking at sulphur products, as I've had good success with a sulphur mud facial. At my age I am concerned with drying and moisturizing. Dead Sea Sulphur Soap leaves my pores clean and tight and my skin moisturized, feeling clean, no itching. A lifetime of trying skin care products on my pale, sensitive, allergic skin (one soap put me in the emergency room), Finally, no skin reaction at all to Dead Sea Sulphur Soap, no itch, no sweat, no odor, no hives, nothing. Dead Sea Sulphur Soap has also improved my mild adult acne and roseacea. I use it occasionally on my scalp as shampoo with no effect on my hair but clean, no itch. I also purchased and like the Dead Sea Black Mud Soap, good for light exfoliating and breakouts. When my skin breaks out for whatever reason I soap the Black Mud on and leave it for a moment before rinsing, the mud draws the poisons out and has a drying and soothing effect. Great products. Dead Sea Sulphur Soap and Black Mud Soap has improved my skin from head to toe and cured the heebie jeebies. What more can I ask for. Thank you.

Only through the kindness of a friend did we find sulphur soap for my two-year old granddaughter. She was plagued with sensitive skin. It had taken two weeks for a simple mosquito bite to clear. I used this soap bar religiously for a few weeks and my eczema got better...primarily the itchy skin subsided....will use again.
I saw this soap in Rotorua in 2000... and wished I'd bought some... Now I'm glad that I finally did :) The smell of it brings back the memories of my trip to New Zealand, and the other-worldly town of Rotorua... (the whole place smells of sulphur... the ground is warm to the touch...) Plus it... helps clean my hands... which is exactly what you want from a bar of soap, IMHO.
Not the worst soap ever, but I don't share the enthusiasm others have expressed. Compared to Mrs. Meyers Clean Day for example -which costs half the price -this soap had weaker fragrance (maybe some would say subtle?? to me, weak) and much thinner consistency -more watery, less luxurious. Comparable to cheap/generic drugstore liquid soap. Sorry, fans.

I received this product along with the Raw Unrefined 5lbs of Shea butter one week earlier than estimated. I couldn't wait to get home and try this product. I did not care much for the way it was packaged. The shea butter came in a sealed durable plastic, however this huge block came in ceran wrap material. Because it is so soft I suggest using the same packaging as the shea butter (5 lb). But this doesnt affect my actual review score of the product. The wrapping was decent but could have been better. My cousin and I both took small shavings of the black soap and were amazed at how easily this stuff lathers!!! What I love most is that it does not have a harsh perfumed smell!! It smells clean, just like the shea butter! Although my cousin and I were testing the products latherability (lol) I couldnt resist washing my face with it. I like that my face and hands did not dry out. I await to see what it does to my acne prone skin. I absolutley LOVE it and will be ordering again. African Black Soap is excellent for dry skin care. The soap lathers really well, is soft, and leaves my skin soft. This soap does not dry the skin out. It actually moisturizes the skin and leaves a sort of glow to it. If you have had problems using Castile soap due to dry skin, this is the product you are seeking. It is a raw product so don't expect the pretty little shape you get with commercial soap which contain sulfate, but this soap cleans the skin and leaves it feeling soft. I would not recommend using this soap on very delicate areas, if you know what I mean, as it has an exfoliant in it. But, that's just me. LOL

My skin is very sensitive and it's hard to find soaps that don't irritate my skin. This soap is great! It would be better if it was a rectangle shape to fit in my soap holder, though.

While it has a pleasant smell to it, it in no way resembles coconut or vanilla, which disappoints me a bit. Admittedly, the soap washes away cleanly, leaving no residue or filmy feeling on the skin.
