One of our young son's started to school this past September and as he is a normally healthy child, it began to concern us that he kept coming home from school with a lot of coughs and colds. Then the school began sending notices home to all the parents about MRSA or superbugs that are resistant to antibiotics. We went to the school meetings and watched the TV News as they discussed more and more outbreaks of this MRSA and also Meningitis. We also took our child to his Doctor who just told us it was normal for our child to get sick when he first started to school.

So with this in mind, and 4 months with this cough not getting better my Wife began searching for other hand cleaners on the market to use with our son in school and DETTOL is the one name that kept coming on over and over again.

Dettol Soap and also the liquid has an ingredient in it that kills this MRSA Bug and other BAD bacterias in as little as 15 seconds of use with water... probably as long as your child will actually wash his hands for. Dettol leaves the good bacteria and only kills the bad bacteria so no harsh results from using this soap. This Dettol soap and liquid are top sellers in India where they usually have very clear complexions. With this soap you should have no more or less problems with skin issues as it has an antibacterial ingredient in it that protects the skin.

We have cut off a small chunk of this soap and put in a small container that fits in our child's pocket so he can take it to school and use there and we know he is now washing his hands and not so worried any longer now we have this as it kills the MRSA bug in 15 seconds with it's Chloroxylenol ingredient. Better than Triclosan and gentle on hands. For use on the whole body.

The liquid is great too for cleaning your home to using as an Antiseptic to putting small amount (less than 10 drops) into 8 oz glass of water and gargle with it to kill germs and also gets rid of coughing. DO NOT SWALLOW only rinse and spit out! Follow with water rinse thoroughly and you are set.

In the USA we usually depend on Antibacterial ingredient Triclosan but it has been found to harm our Eco system and has developed resistant baterial strains with use making it less effective than DETTOl.

I bought this soap for my boyfriend because he has had a couple bouts with MRSA, and this seemed like a better soap to use when it comes to preventing MRSA and other skin problems/germs. The Dettol soap I bought from Amazon is a horrible product. It has a potent chemical odor, is brown, hard, and does not form lather. It bears no resemblance (other than the label) to the product I am accustomed to, which is made in Indonesia: this is a soft, emollient, light yellow soap with a gentle fragrance. The soap purchased from Amazon is made in India.

The Dettol soaps manufactured in Indonesia and Dubai are excellent products and I recommend them highly; particularly to prevent skin infection, and for sensitive or difficult skin.

There are many different Maja soap products, some are not from Spain. I look for the box which says 4.9 ounces, round soap. This soap is wonderful to place in luggage, linen shelves, chests, drawers or wherever you want a nice clean scent. I still have some old soap from 1980, purchased in Spain, which I had cut in half and placed in an old trunk, the blankets still smell fresh.

The trick is to find the right kind, there are many "look alike" soaps.

Margo Neem Soap 75g (Pack of 3)

I bought this soap to help get rid of scabies. I checked about 10 other websites for a list of ingredients, but couldn't find one... I received the soap today and they STINK, and not like neem as I would have expected. For inquiring minds, here are the ingredients as listed on the packaging:

Sodium palmate, sodium palm kernelate/cocoate, sodium soap of neem oil, talc, PERFUME, petroleum jelly, lauric acid, disodium EDTA, disodium etidronate, lanolin, hard paraffin, vitamin E acetate, glyeryl monostearate, methyl paraben, CI 12740, and CI 61565.

The good news is you can hardly smell the neem (if that smell bothers you), the bad news is the perfume is quite strong--I can smell the soap from hall outside the bathrooms.

I tried this "acne remedy" and was totally skeptical about it working. I only got it because it was cheap and worth a try. It took 2 days to clear up my moderate acne, and it also evened out my skin tone which was also nice. The only down side is that it smells awful.

My boyfriend tried using it to clear up his psoriasis because we found a few websites that said it worked for that, but it didn't really do anything. It just treats acne. But really, my skin hasn't even felt cleaner.

Since using the soap she has experienced fewer breakout than with regular soap and it does not dry out her skin like some of the other acne product out there. Well it has been a few months since purchasing the soap and I must say I like it. The smell takes some getting used to, but it has worked well for my sisters skin. Her acne has really shown improvement and my eczema is really doing well with the soap. The thing I like most is that whenever I bathe in it and then go outside I do not get eaten up with mosquito bites like normal. Something in this soap makes them steer clear and who can't love that. I am running low, so if you will excuse me I need to go order some more...lol!!

I've tried many acne products over the years but by the time I hit 30, I was still getting recurring spots in the 'T zone'.

I discovered Margo soap a couple of years ago and after one application of Margo soap, my skin felt the cleanest it ever has done, but without the dryness that other soaps cause. Within a month of twice-daily use, instead of having two or three spots at one time, I now only succumb to a spot every few weeks and even then they are nowhere near as angry or noticeable as before. On the three occasions that I've stopped using Margo, I've noticed the acne creep back.

Margo soap truly is amazing! I've found this soap at various markets in the States, but it's not as easy to get hold of in the UK, so I mail order it from India whilst there. It makes it more expensive, but still miles cheaper than over-the-counter acne preperations. Don't get it in your eyes either the anti-bacterial neem oil stings to high Heaven!

Give Margo a go, but make sure you give it a month of dedicated, twice-daily use: I'd be suprised if you don't see marked results.

I use a neem clay face mask that is absolutely amazing! Seeing the effects neem had on my skin I thought I would give this a shot. The soap does, in fact, smell like neem...which isn't the most pleasant smell in the world...but you don't smell it once you rinse it off. I WILL recommend that those purchasing this don't leave it sitting on a ledge in the shower or anywhere it will be constantly attacked by water....the bar will slowly start to "peel" into layers and become hard. I bought the Honey Almond Venezia Soapworks bath bar at a local discount store ( Roses )for $1 recently and gave it a try today. The reason why I bought it in the first place was the size. I don't believe I have ever bought a bar of soap this large. At a mammoth half pound this soap will give you a bang for your buck. I also liked the fact that it is all natural and doesn't have animal fat in it. The smell in the box is also nice. To me it smelled like a faint cherry almond scent kinda like Jergen's. Too bad once you get out of the shower you don't smell it on your skin. You feel clean but smell plain. It would be a good soap to use if you want to wear a cologne and not have it over powered by your shower. While bathing it foams up easily and feels like you're bathing in cream. You start to think this is a very moisturizing soap until you begin to dry off and notice your skin is a little tight. This soap cleans very well however and for the price and value it is not a bad buy.

We had run across this soap at a store and picked it up to try it out. We loved it more than any other soap we had used. We have tried many other soaps over the years because we had never found one that we loved 100 percent. However this is it. We tried the Mandarin Orange sent originally but unfortunately we did not remember what brand of soap it was so we went on a search and had to purchase the soap so we could open the package to see what it looked like. We could not find the Mandarin Orange variety but did find it in Pomegranate which is very nice. The Honey Almond sent we can not comment on one way or the other however we love the cleaning value of the soap, we love the size and shape of the soap and the feel, so we will be likely to try it in any sent we find. We are so happy that it is offered on Amazon now that we know hat brand to look for.

Like the other reviewer said, I bought mine at a dollar store for $1 and it definitely smelled like honey/almond and is 100% vegetable oil/no animal fat and is triple milled and was huge and lathered well and the packaging is nice-looking, but it reminds me of the Castelbel soaps well-scented, nice lather, huge, but its texture is very hard (and I like softer soaps), hence it lasts longer, but there's very little moisturizing quality (even though that's what its packaging promises). For $1, it's definitely a deal, but even at less than a $l, when you add s/h costs, it's NOT a deal.

There are other better triple milled soaps out there like the South Of France Twin Pack French Milled Vegetable Soap Shea Butter, 4.25-Ounces Bars (Pack of 3) soaps (especially with "Shea Butter" for more moisture they're HUGE, affordable, purely organic, made in the US but made in the French way for the allergic or sensitive with good fragrance), Pre de Provence Pure Vegetable Oil Soap Verbena Bar 8.8oz(high quality), Mistral Shea Butter Soap, Wild Blackberry, 7-Ounce Bar (high quality), and Bisous de Provence soaps (all 3 made in France with fantastic fragrance/lather/moisturizing qualities), and Olivia Care Olive Oil Soap , Verbena, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) soaps (which are French made soaps and can be huge at 8 oz and have proven moisturizing qualities with generous pure smooth olive oil and fantastic smell.)

As with any soap, if you want to have it last longer, keep it away from water and get a soapholder with holes on the bottom so the water doesn't stay to liquefy the soap.

Great soap, great scent. People, this soap is for everyone, not just black people (do you know how incredibly ignorant that sounds?! I wish people would research stuff before they perpetuate this kind of nonsense.) It is called "black" soap because there are plant ashes in the soap, giving it it's dark appearance. It is made from leaves and bark of various trees and plants that are burned in a kettle or vat. The leaves are from banana trees, plantain skins, leaves and bark, palm tree leaves, cocoa pods, shea tree bark, etc. The ashes from the leaves are then mixed with water and then filtered. Oils such as shea butter, coconut oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, and cocoa butter are added to this water to create the soap.

I enjoy this soap. Rich lather, and washes off, leaving a squeaky clean feel. A better product for men; the Shea Butter may be a mild irritant to some women...as my gf mentioned. But works wonders for me. I recommend this product.

I wanted to use this product for a few weeks before I gave it a review. I am African-American with very oily, blemish and acne prone skin. I have used Proactiv which worked but didn't help much with the blemishes and Mary Kay cleansers with made my face worse. Pre de Provence Soap, Set Of 5, Coconut, 125 Gram Cello Wrap

I am very unhappy with this purchase. The soaps are only 1½" x 1½" big and they do NOT smell like coconut at all. All five soaps stacked together only measure 3½", so you can imagine how tiny they are. The packaging was terrible as well. The soaps were sent in a bubble padded HUGE manilla envelope which provided zero protection for the soaps and the corners of the bars really show wear and tear. I do not recommend this item.

This is the best soap I've ever used. It is lightly scented. It lathers better than any soap I've used. These aren't heavily scented soaps that are molded in some cutesy shape, these are soaps made by people who know what great soap is. No gimmicks, just great soap.

This line of soap is an enduring favorite for me. Cleansing without drying, long-lasting, and absolutely heavenly fragrances. I only enjoy very natural scents, and these are superb. The whole bathroom smells better when these soaps are around. This rose is my absolute favorite. By the way, there are little bits of stuff in this particular soap. Dried rose petals, I assume. It seems to serve the same purpose as oatmeal in a soap -a very mild abrasive. It never bothers me and has never clogged my drain or anything like that.

This very high quality English bath soap makes a creamy luxuriant lather, rinses off well, and leaves your skin feeling very clean but not irritated. Although it is not made with pure phenol (also known as "carbolic acid"), it does contain Lysol BP which is a cresol-containing disinfectant. Cresols are organic derivatives of phenol which are less damaging to the skin than pure phenol. Phenol itself was the original antiseptic used in surgery by Joseph Lister in the 19th century. "Antiseptic" surgery allowed people to survive open fractures and other wounds that would previously have invariably been fatal due to infection. Phenol antisepsis was eventually replaced by our current "antiseptic" or sterile surgical technique, in part because of the skin irritation caused by phenol. Phenol still has its uses, however: The cadaver I dissected as a medical student was preserved in 5% phenol solution.

I love this soap but if you buy it be prepared for the strong disinfectant smell. To me it smells clean, but it may not be to everyone's taste.

This is real carbolic soap, and is very strong smelling. Carbolic Soap Company even packages each bar in an exterior zipper-bag to help contain the aroma, but frankly we love it. Instead of keeping these under the sink, we like to keep them in the dresser drawers to keep the clothes smelling nice. Great for hand washing and bathing with super-strong antibacterial properties. Its a big soap bar too, 7 oz (200g) about twice the size of a standard bar.

While this smells and looks the same it apparently is not what I remember the "Lifebouy" soap of old. I was looking for something with "carbolic acid". This does not list it in the ingredients. Also, soap now made in the UK falls under the EU regulations and soap can no longer contain "carbolic acid".

I am still looking for the real product. The only way I can find it may be at some country store in the middle of nowhere that is still in business. Anyone knowing where to find soap with carbolic acid please post.
