Once I hit the ripe 'ole age of 25, my skin started freaking out for some still unknown reason. I tried several drugstore face washes & toners, but they only seemed to initially clear up my skin & then make it worse. I also tried pricier options like Lush & Clinique, but I kept getting the same disappointing results. My mom read about this in Costco & bought it for me to try. I grew up with this soap in Germany. Had a few acne pimples here and there but nothing dramatic. Moved to the US for college, started using American skin care products and my skin kept getting worse. Five years later I finally remembered Seba Med and my skin is slowly clearing up again.I only gave 4 stars because I absolutely hate its scent. Too artificial, too strong, doesn't rinse off completely. It also seems to leave my skin rather dry. (My skin is getting flaky, which has previously only happened with products containing Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide.)

I got this on a whim because I saw it at Costco and thought I"d give it a try. I was interested in the pH balanced formula. I was not disappointed. My skin feels softer and I haven't had a problem w/ acne. I've been trying to ween myself off of my acne cream for years (almost 30 and was still breaking out like I was 15) but nothing ever worked. Benzyl Peroxide was too harsh for my skin and I would have a really bad allergic reaction. Sulfer or salicylic acid based products didn't work. I kept breaking out and my skin looked shiny and greasy. I use to have a problem w/ combination skin: oily and dry in patches. Now my skin looks and feels great. I received this soap for Christmas from my teenage daughter a few years back. It's one of the only soaps that I can use on my face without breaking out (crazy, I know!). Sadly, my daughter loved it, too. She took the box with the remaining soaps with her when she moved to college. The scent is very clean and freshjust like a pine tree. I really miss this soap!
Brut Bar Soap Classic, Original Fragrance, 7 Oz.
This soap is not quite the same as the soap on a rope, but it lathers well, has the great smell of Brut, and leaves that nice tight dry feeling like the rope type does. The only reason I dinged it a star is because it isn't on a rope.
With this item, the PROS were that the bar is quite large and probably based on its formulation will likely last a long time, maybe too long since I am dissatisfied with it.
The CONS included that it appeared to be a glycerin-like soap with no discernible fragrance.
By contrast, I prefer the ROYAL COPENHAGEN soap which is very rich in creamy lather and has an ample scent. Also the Stetson soap is satisfactory but if the Brut soap I received is typical for what you will receive then just buy a large cake of glycerin soap which will likely save you money too...

Glorious fragrance. Only lasted 2 weeks for hand-washings because it disintegrated in pieces; therefore, I believe it could be best lasting for clothing drawers to fragrance clothing, or to leave in a car glove compartment, perhaps. You can see and smell the cloves in the soap, so it's a unique item.

Most web sites indicate this is a man's fragrant soap but I use it every day and have for many years. The Vetiver has a very delicate scent after bathing, and it goes very well with my Christian Dior Diorella, or no added perfume at all. I've had many compliments on the subtle smell so I highly recommend this soap. It comes in various sizes but I like the Big Bar for the bath/shower, not to mention you get more soap for your buck and it lasts a very long time because it's hard milled. This Provence Sante Big Bar soap that I purchased on Amazon is almost too generously sized, until you get used to it. It has a wonderful scent of vetiver that is neither too strong nor too faint. I will look no further for the ideal bar of soap-this is it.

To the first reviewer: Of course it contains lye. It's SOAP. That's how soap is made. *rolls eyes*This soap is great. It's just virgin olive oil, water, and a some residual glycerin from the soap making process. I'm highly allergic to any dyes or perfumes, so this is the only thing I use. I'd give it ten stars, if I could.

I am stating categorically, that this is a delight for your skin! I had been using french milled (X4?) soaps for a good while, but discovered when colder weather (Minnesota type) hit, even with using Aveeno after shower oil, it was leaving my skin much too dry. I ordered this Canus Vermont Goat's Milk Bar Soap, Natural Lavender, 15 Ouncesoap because I had always heard that goats milk was very nutritious (my dad grew up on it NO COWS!) and when I read further I found that it's composition is similar to our skin (ph, etc.). I ordered this and have been extremely happy with the results. By composition it is a much fattier soap (which is good in my case) ; it cleans very well, love the lavender scent, also. If your soap drys out your skin PLEASE try this I guarantee you'll love the results, and your skin will love the nourishment!!!
