Auromere Chandrika Bar Soap 2.64 oz
This is one of the most popular soaps in India. The patchouli and sandalwood scents are strong, and this is a very nice, slightly gritty green bar that makes a shower an exotic experience. Nice to scent the drawer, so put a few unopened packages in your lingerie or underwear drawer and enjoy the incense-like fragrance.
I think it's a great find at a good value. I'll be buying more.
One With Nature Dead Sea Mineral Soap, Shea Butter, 7-Ounces (Pack of 6)
This soap is excellent! I have hard water and most soaps do nothing to combat the dryness hard water causes. But this soap leaves my skin feeling very soft and moisturized. I highly recommend this soap!
The Shea butter has a mild scent. My skin is soft after using and the soap rinses clean. A very nice product.
The soap is a large solid bar, not whipped air. The ingredients are great, one of the best dead sea brands for the simple ingredients used.
Decided to try after I had been a very happy bather with the rose variety of this brand of dead sea soap.

I'm a recent convert to natural and organic soaps, having bought them for my daughter who's into all that stuff. Her effusive raves led me to try them myself, and I found a whole new experience. If you read labels, you've certainly seen sodium lauryl sulfate, a chemical surfactant to increase lather, and propylene glycol,a penetration enhancer. These are just 2 of many ubiquitous "soap" ingredients in these petroleum based products that would more accurately be called detergents. You won't find them here, and you won't miss them.There's 9 ingredients listed on this label, each one recognizable. No need for lather enhancers, as the natural soap ingredients make a wonderful cleansing lather that doesn't dry your skin. This one even leaves my skin "squeaky" clean while still not drying.
One last bonus, this, like other natural soaps, is good to the last sliver. Having been used to soap that just didn't work when it was worn thin, this was a very pleasant surprise. You can use this soap until it disappears.

I am almost 70 and have been shaving for a long time. Have tried shaving with different kinds of lather and over the years have come to prefer the lather made with shaving soap and a brush. Immediately liked the cover and shaving was like I had put a new blade in my razor it shaved so smoothly. In addition it has a pleasant masculine smell and noted a slight tingle on my skin. The shave itself will be as close as you want to make it, as long as you use the right razor. For the absolute best I recommend a safety razor like Merkur, but that's up to you. You'll also want to use a badger brush for the correct lathering and application, but again, that's up to you.

This was the first time I have used shaving soap and this is better than I expected, I get a close shave, it lathers very well and leaves my face feeling and smelling great. I have had this product for about a month and shave every other day and it doesn't even seem like I am making a dent in this product. I decided to try the Proraso Soap Cup since I liked their shaving cream so much (the kind that is in the tube). I am much more happy with the soap cup. Used with a badger brush, I am not sure when this stuff will run out. You only need to put a little on the end of your brush and it will lather up very nicely on your face and will last for 3 passes.Proraso has a great eucalyptus scent and it feels good on your face. It rinses off clean and does not dry out your skin.
It may cost more than what you would pay for a regular soap puck, but I think it is well worth it.

Even if I was still using a cartridge razor, I would still use this instead of the canned stuff.You won't get a better cream out of a can, period. This stuff smells amazing, and is cool on your face while you shave. When you lather on another layer for a second shave, your freshly shaved skin will say thank you for another layer. Your beard (if you have a goatee or beard that you shave around) will hold this scent for a while after your shave, and that's fantastic too).
I've been shaving with this for around three weeks now, and can barely see the level change in the container.
The stuff in there is great--it's not hard, but is like a partially dried cream, so it lathers easily and instantly. I don't have a nice shaving brush, but it doesn't seem to matter. With a nicer brush I bet the lathering experience would be even more fantastic. As for the actual shave, I'm not sure how much of it is my razor and how much is the cream, but I've been loving the ritual of shaving since I bought this. I look forward to it. That's definitely new.
Finally, the size of the cup this comes in is just big enough to use the brush in it, without transferring it to another container, and with the lid it's self-contained.
This is the best shaving soap I've ever used--that's counting all the canned gels and creams, which I have come to see as junk.
You won't be sorry. This will outlast several cans of shaving cream, and is soooo much more luxurious. Just what you need in the morning.

I buy these soaps at TJ Maxx for $4.99 as gifts. Unfortunately they never know when they will be in a shipment & when they do arrive they go quickly, so I buy all I can when I see them!
This is a huge bar so you get your money's worth that way too. The soap has a wonderful clean, lightly perfumed smell. Not strong, just feminine. It doesn't melt away so it lasts a long time too. Most importantly it doesn't dry you out. My skin is very dry so that is important to me.
I thought it was discontinued but am real happy to have found it again.

Alchimia soaps are great lathering scented soaps and can be found at Home Goods for $4.99. Hope this review is helpful.I love this brand of soap. So far I tried, Lemon, Orange, and a few others. My very favorite is the Orchid because it smells so very pretty. The Lemon and Orange are also very nice, and I think would be suitable for use by men and woman. Besides the wonderful fragrance of these soaps, it is very moisturizing and does not dry out your skin. I have very dry skin and have not had any problems with this soap. No sneezing either!

I have had acne ever since I hit puberty (30+ years ago) and this is the best product I have used for it. Neem is naturally antibiotic so it works to kill the bacteria that cause acne. It is also very gentle on the skin, not causing dryness or irritation like many other acne products. I still get a pimple now and then, but overall the product works great. I have now purchased it for my two teenagers to help them control their acne.

These soaps are awesome! I got my wife a bunch as a Christmas present last year,(late review, I know, I know), and ended up using most of them myself. I live in an APO, so the shipping cost as much as the product, but I will buy some more now that the holidays are rolling around again.They do a great job cleaning and smell great!

The Roger and Gallet soaps are my favorite. They retain their scent, last a long time, don't irritate sensitive skin and I use this size for travel with a sturdy plastic presentation box you can sometimes buy them with. For years it was hard to find these soaps in the US, but I am so thrilled Amazon carries this excellent brand. They are a little pricey, but such a fine luxury. I know Diptyque soaps and scents are the hot newer item from Paris, and I do like their fragrances, but I still prefer these soaps over anything else.BTW the picture on this product page does not do the soaps justice. They come in a very pretty box wrapped in cellophane. These were shipped well. I did buy them from another seller previously and had to return them because they were shipped poorly and arrived damaged.

This soap is amazing. I am in my late teens and suddenly, over the past month have been smelling of b.o due to sweaty underarms. It seemed as if my usual wash routine just stopped working and even with my antiperspirants the smell just lingered. Shield has done more than just remove the b.o but also leaves me smelling fresh all day (I must note that you should still use your antiperspirant roll ons etc...)fantastic product and would by again.

We purchased Dr. Bronner's Liquid Baby Soap to use for all-purpose cleaning (people and household) on our small place in the country. We're trying to stay as natural/organic as possible. We're still moving in and today, after a rainfall, I stepped in a fire ant nest. I wasn't wearing socks, and had atleast a dozen bites on one foot. We have little on hand since we're in the midst of the move, but I had the Dr. Bronner's for cleaning. Best I could think of was soap is alkaline and fire ants poison is acid (I thought); I was hoping to neutralize the bite/sting. I put some Dr Bronner's on a tissue, undiluted, and just wiped it over my bites. I was pretty desperate, I normally blister up and itch for a week. Within about 20 mts, the bites had all but disappeared. No itching, no blisters, no redness. All that's left is a slight bump. I can't explain it, but it worked. We had the 30oz bottles on hand; I'm ordering a gallon.

I highly recommend Dr. Bronner's Unscented. I started using it in a spray bottle with baking soda and water because it does not trigger my migraines and when I realized how well it cleaned I started using it to clean pretty much everything in my home.The scents and chemicals in mainstream cleaners were causing such severe migraines that I could not clean my house. Newer `green' cleaners from Clorox and the like did not help either because of the fragrances. I learned about Dr. Bronner's and gave it a try. The scented versions are too strong for me so I stick with the unscented. Most of my friends like the unscented too because they can add whatever essential oils they need (or are in the mood for) to clean.
Information on the internet for green cleaning is all over the place and there is a lot of bad advice out there. I recommend getting a book on green cleaning that will bring all of the information together check one out from your library or purchase one if you've got a little extra money. For a basic over view of green cleaning I recommend Jill Potvin Schoff's Green Up Your Cleanup (The Green House). For a comprehensive book with a lot of depth, try Renee Loux's Easy Green Living: The Ultimate Guide to Simple, Eco-Friendly Choices for You and Your Home. (I have written reviews on both books.)
The only things I do not use this soap for are washing my hair and doing the dishes. I have really oily hair and the castile soap leaves it very stringy and with a lot of oil in it. I've got several friends who use it as shampoo and they do not have the same problem that I do. I also do not use it for dishes because it is more cost effective for me to get Seventh Generation dish products from Amazon's Subscribe & Save program. As a side note, Dr. Bronner's works great with oxygen bleach (like OxiClean) or Borax for laundry, but I typically use Seventh Generation laundry soap and oxygen bleach or Borax instead because it is more cost effective per load and I get the same result.
Yes, the writing on the bottle is kooky, but nothing says you have to read it. This castile soap works better then any other castile soap I've tried. I do not normally spend money with companies that speak in terms of religion, but given the safeness and effectiveness of the product combined with their IMO certified fair trade practices to purchase organic ingredients, I don't care WHAT the label says.
Directly from the label, the product contains: water, saponified organic coconut & olive oils, organic glycerin, organic hemp oil, organic jojoba oil, citric acid, and Vitamin E.

I started using Dr. Bronner's about 6 months ago. The continuously itchy skin on my legs have stopped itching for the first time in years! No more scratch marks! I use this on my hair, as a bodywash, and occasionally for cleaning. My husband complains that it doesn't suds up, but it doesn't have to suds up a lot to work well. It also makes a wonderful dog shampoo! My son's dog has itchy, dry skin as well and it has worked wonders on him! I also make scented bodywash out of this....I just use a small bottle and add a few drops of my perfume oil. Buying this in bulk makes sense to me......the price is much better than buying by the bottle and will last a long time. My daughter has asthma and allergies, and her skin is very sensitive. Using other soaps even mild baby soaps she would have problems with eczema and really dry skin on her legs, back, sides and tummy. We started using this soap about 2 years ago, and she hasn't had problems since. Even though it's expensive, it works out to be a good deal when we factor in that we don't have to slather her down with expensive lotions and creams any more.It's OK on hair, but we use it just occasionally to get out the gunk that shampoos leave behind.
This isn't a really sudsy soap, and it's easy to use too much. What we do is mix half of this with half water in a foaming soap dispenser (ours is an old Dawn foaming pump). That helps make a nice lather that can be spread around, rather than just having the liquid soap run down into the tub.
Even though this is mild, it's definitely not tear-free, so be careful not to get it in the eyes with younger kids.

How wonderful it has been the past two years after trying Grandma's for the first time!I have had seborrhea on my face, scalp and hairline that had been nasty for at least 65 years. The family always called it cradle cap. At times it got so bad it bled! Not anymore; Grandma's made a difference from the very first bar! I have 2 1/2 bars on the shelf and wouldn't think to use anything else.

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this soap. I like the smell of roses, but I like it in small doses, such as when I'm leaning down to smell one. This soap, true to its description, smells like roses. It might be too rosey for some.I will attest to the genuineness of its ingredients. While walking toward campus last week, I managed to attract a rather tenacious bee on the way from the parking lot... at the end of October. I can't be certain, but I think that bee picked up on my scent and wanted a piece of it.
I think I'll stick with the honey almond and mint leaf varieties from now on. If you really like roses, this might be the soap for you.

Apparant thin layer of rose fragrance disappears quickly.Over 6.00 for a bar of soap (even though it is a big bar) was expensive for me. But for the first few days,it really did have a great rose aroma. Then it seemed like that top layer just washed away and after about a week, that great rose fragrance was gone.

while I agree the soap lathers nicely, and doesn't irritate my skin, I was hoping for much more long lasting rose scent. I could only smell the roses for the first couple of uses.

While I love the smell of this soap--and don't expect it to smell like lavender-DO NOT apply the soap bar directly to your skin. You will SORELY regret it! The natural ingredients, herbs, or whatever they put in the mix will scratch the HELL out of you. Another con about this product is that it's bar soap, so it dries your skin out and can be irritating. I'm not so sure if this is a product you want to use on eczematous skin...wish I could give this soap 1.5 stars.

This soap is the best natural soap that I have used. I've tried many, many different types of natural soaps, and this is the only one that doesn't sting my skin. It smells really nice too, makes me feel like I'm at the spa. It does have little exfoliator granules in it, so if you don't like that, you will not like this soap (the granules are a little scratchy, but the nice thing is that they actually come out of the soap, they don't stay stuck in there like little barbs to come back and haunt you shower after shower). Over all, a very nice soap.

As someone with skin that's both dry and very sensitive, I run into trouble with a lot of exfoliating soaps being too harsh, but the rice bran granules in this bar are small enough to create a scrubbing sensation without being overly-scratchy. It also has a nice, rich lather.The first thing I noticed, though, was the fragrance. I placed a bar in the shower and when I went back a few hours later it had filled the room with a wonderfully sweet green tea scent. It's strong enough that having a bar in the bathroom practically doubles as an air freshener!
Overall I am very pleased with this soap and will definitely purchase it again.
