Pears Oil-Clear Soap Bar 130 ml
Recently purchased and used tried this soap. The soap, itself, may be hypoallergenic, but the fragrance is definitely not. The aroma is very strong and of a type that caused a strong reaction by my sinuses. The closest I can come to describing the fragrance is to compare it to Irish Spring bath soap. I don't know if they've ever toned down it's aroma, but when it originally came out I couldn't even handle being around a sealed package of it, much less use the soap. This Pears soap is not that strong, but it comes close. I had to take it and wrap the bar up in plastic wrap to get the smell out of my bathroom.Anyone who wants to try Pears glycerin soap, I recommend the amber colored product. It is described as containing thyme and it does have a slight aroma of thyme. I tried this and had no problems with it and the soap leaves your skin feeling very nice and it does not dry your skin.

I originally bought this green Pears soap because I like amber Pears and was curious to try this one. My daughter was the first to use it and raved about how much she liked it. I then tried it and had to purchase more so as not to tap into her supply. The best way to describe the smell is clear and clean and nicer than amber Pears. I hate cloying scents, so this one works well. I would say it is a unisex scent, similar, but not identical, to green tea. I will still purchase the amber Pears, but only if this scent is out of stock. I really wish this green Pears was easier to find. I also have had reactions to some scented soaps, but not this one. Dr. Woods Tea Tree Castile Soap
My gf bought this for me from a Conway store in NYC just a few weeks ago and I've used it every day for the past two weeks and it's just great!! I use in my hair and body and it does indeed leave the hair and skin noticeably soft all day long.Normally Tea Tree doesn't have the greatest scent, but this stuff smells nice with just a hint of the tea tree and other ingredients make for a pleasant natural scent without being overpowering.
I love it and can't wait to get some more and plan on making it my number one soap. GF said that this stuff flies off the shelves whenever they get it in...I can see why.

I purchase this because I love the smell of tea tree oil and I liked the large size for refilling my under-the-counter soap dispensers. This product smells like soap (not tea tree) and is highly watered down so you need to use a lot more soap. I will not buy this product again.Want Dr. Woods Tea Tree Castile Soap Discount?
I bought this because it was all natural. I don't care if it lathers (it doesn't btw); I just want something healthy on my skin that cleans my hair.YUCK! I wear my hair short and it is not oily nor dry. After my first and only use my hair looked dirty, once it dried. It felt gross (greasy) and my scalp felt dirty. Later that day, I ended up washing my hair again with a different shampoo.
I use tea tree oil for all sorts of things I am an oiler and it is a great multi-purpose product.
I have read the other reviews and I don't know if I got a bad batch? I bought this 2/13. Anybody find a similar experience?
I am returning this soap for a refund. I had tried Mill Creek Botanicals which also left my hair feeling less than clean but nothing as bad as this. I'll try Kirk's next.
South Of France Soaps Soap Bar Acai Pomegranate
South of France soaps are heavenly. This Acai Pomegranate scent is my favorite. Made from vegetable and natural oils, it has a light berry fragrance that isn't overpowering and smells divine. This triple milled soap isn't anything like the average soap found in the supermarket. It works into a thick, rich, delectable lather that leaves skin soft and smooth while gently cleansing, and is even mild enough to use on the face. The company can proudly boast that its soaps are sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate free, paraben free, and phthalate free. I look forward to this soap every day in my shower, and just in case you might be afraid it's not masculine enough for your manly guy, my husband won't use anything else. Highly recommended!
It smells nice and works into a nice lather.
However, I haven't repurchased for two reasons.
It runs out quickly. I guess this is the reason why it's so large, which is a smart compensation.
The scent has no staying power. It smells nice, for how long it does stay. It wears off in under an hour after showering.
Those points aren't enough for me to give it a poor rating. Overall, it's a good soap.

I've used this in the past, and have just re-ordered two bars. Can't wait to receive them. This stuff smells BEAUTIFUL! Not only in the shower, but it's a beautiful berry smell that not only makes your bathroom smell good after showering, but it the scent clings to your skin and clothes long after showering. I love this stuff. I have tried many of South of France soaps and you can't lose with this one. And it's a unisex scent. Works just as good on a man as a woman. It's a very well crafted, "berry smell."You can't lose. It's that well done. :)

I've always heard praises (although not in detail) of "south of france" soaps and seen them briefly in stores sometimes but when I read the label and saw it was actually made in the US and not in France as their brand name suggests, I was kind of turned off, thinking the hype about it was a lot of BS. I was wrong. I bought mine for $6 without s/h costs at Cost Plus World Market.As the "important information" and the back of the soap pkg say, it is extremely beneficial for people who are hypersensitive, totally organic/natural, vegetable oil based.

The acai pomegranate soap is HUGE and has a strong berry-like fragrance from outside the package but when you bathe it's not so strong that you sneeze. I think what convinced me it was truly organic was when I cut a knife through it to slice off a chunk like I usually do when reviewing soaps and it fell apart not in 1 clean slice like other soaps but in break apart ragged chunks and pieces. Then I KNEW there was a difference!! It's very mild on the skin, has semi-decent lather, and the scent is noticeable but not intense. It stays kind of hard while bathing so it would last a long time due i'm sure to the "french milling" whereby the french (or in this case, Americans) process not only thru triple milling but also use the large thick rollers to take out the air. It wouldn't be my favorite type of soap since i like intense fragrances and LOTS of lather and want my soapbar to soften like a real cake of soap, but the value is DEFINITELY there as a pure organic soap without toxic synthetics and the price is right for 8.8 oz. It's certainly MUCH larger than the french-made "pre de provence" soaps for a cheaper cost!!
Also, since this is a very pure organic soapbar, to make sure your soapbar lasts for many bathings, it's best to keep it away as much as possible from water and moisture/humidity.

Love this soap. I already had an allergy for heavy perfumed items but I also developed an itching problem with the soap I was using. So I decided to try some naturals. I came across the South of France brand and after sniffing them decided to try the Lemon Chamomile and Acai Pomegranet. Not only does my skin feel clean and smooth but it also leaves a nice fresh smell and I don't itch as much. What happened two weekends ago really caught my attention. I used a floor cleaner to clean the laminate floors in the house. After that I showered with the Acai Pomegranet soap, took the laundry into the garage and when I came back into the house I thought "the house smells really cleaned". I'm trying to figure out what was causing this wonderful smell, I walked down the hallway and upon approaching the bathroom it hit me. "It's the Soap". WOW! the whole house smelled clean. This hand soap has a beautiful scent that's not too strong and the soap doesn't dry out your hands. I like it so much I bought two extra bottles to take home to my mom and sister in Salt Lake City, which sadly, has no Trader Joe's. I went back yesterday to purchase several bottles so I will have plenty on hand in case they decide to stop making it and the store didn't have any in stock. To the person who gave the bad review. Yes, they DID reformulate this soap, temporarily it was awful, but soon TJs went back to the French Company who made it so well. It is now wonderful again. I have been looking for awhile for a soap with pure ingredients like Dr. Bronner's, but without the watery consistency of Dr. Bronner's. This soap is it! Simple ingredients that I don't need a chemistry degree to decipher, and a light, pleasant, fragrance created by essential oils. It smells wonderful! AND it smells believable! Good stuff!

I've become more sensitive to soap over the years, occasionally when I wash frequently during the day the skin between my fingers becomes itchy and when I am sick and use a normal soap I break out in hives. When I was discussing with a co-worker, they suggested I try this soap as they had a similar sensitivity to regular soap products.I don't understand why I can never find this in the store-I have been using this soap for two years now and it's the only sensitive skin/hypoallergenic soap I've found that doesn't end up eventually causing me problems outlined above.
I highly recommend to those with sensitive skin. One word of caution-my 3 yr old daughter has similar condition and unfortunately she ended up getting some in her eye. It's certainly not tear free and for whatever reason seems much worse than other soaps when you inadvertently get in your eye.

I love this dog shampoo! My 80 lb dog has pretty significant allergies to grass and tons of others stuff and this bar really soothes him. It smells fabulous, anytime I open my cabinet (where I store it), I get a nice soothing fragrance. It lathers really well and rinses easily. It also has conditioners built in, so no two step process is needed. I have used many other shampoos and this is by far the best.The new shipment no longer has the ingredient sticker on the bottom of the bar, which is a plus, I can use the entire bar without having to mess with that.
