Yardley Of London antibacterial liquid hand soap, flowering english lavender - 16 Oz

This is the hand soap my father always used, and I believe my grandfather before him, and for my money it's still the best scented soap out there -clean and pleasant and traditional, without being frilly or overpowering. I'm not generally a huge fan of scented soap, but I try to keep some of this in the guest bathroom; if I'm going to have scented soap around, this is the one I'm going to have.

Generally you'll find this same soap used in Outback Steakhouse bathrooms. I imagine they like it for the same reason I do -a soap *everyone* likes, pleasantly impressive without being overpowering.

I absolutely adore this liquid soap. I used to be able to get it at a couple of local drugstores, but they've stopped carrying it. I was thrilled to find it online. The price of the soap is fine, but the shipping was a bit high. Yardley English Lavender Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap is good quality, lathers decently, doesn't dry the skin, rinses well, and smells like true lavender.

However, it does contain an antibacterial chemical, triclosan, which infection control experts say should not be used routinely and which may be harmful to the environment so I can only give it 4 stars. I really wish Yardley would remove the triclosan.

The best way to remove germs from your hands and prevent the spread of illness is to use warm water, lather well, and rub your hands together for at least twenty seconds to create plenty of friction.

I did not like this product, period. It was VERY hard to get the soap to lather. Once the soap did lather there were enough suds for 5 people to take a shower with. The lather that the soap makes, once it does, is extremely slick and hazardous, to the point where it could cause one to fall in the shower. One redeeming point, it does rinse well but, the bar melts and is used-up very quickly. I maybe got 5 6 showers out of one bar.

Canus Goat Olive Oil & Wheat Protein 5oz (3 pack)

I have had atopic dermatitis (eczema) all of my life. I'm in that lucky 1%-3% of adults that don't grow out of it. I have tried so many different soaps, creams, and lotions its ridiculous. When was 10 my allergist advised my mom that I use a particular drugstore brand since it was gentler than most other soaps. So for the next 20 years I did...and then I found out about Canus. I'm a PhD level scientist, so the more I learn, the more I try to use products that are as close to nature as possible. Through my own experimentation, I have found my tempermental skin responds best to these kinds of products. Canus is a blessing. It smells good, its moisturizing, my skin (that is currently going through a pretty severe breakout) isn't just tolerating it, but I'm alot less itchy. I'm all in with this stuff. I'm making the switch over to their entire line (body wash, lotion, soap). The olive oil and wheat is my favorite, although I love all of their scents. There are other companies that don't test on animals who's products I enjoy, but I just can't afford them. For the value, its amazing. When I can think of a reason to give this less than 5 stars, I'll update my review :).

I have really enjoyed ths product! I want to buy more! It's so gentle and smells great!! I have very, very sensitive skin yet this product has had no negative effects for me at all! I'm happy!

Jock Soap's Bloody Orange Body Bar 225 g/8 Oz.

I've never been a fan of gel soaps, so I'm always on the lookout for new bar soaps. This just might be my current favorite. The orange scent isn't overwhelming, but is instead very pleasant. I was excited to try this as it had all my fave scents in it. Unfortunately, it did not deliver. It smelled like any other soap, with no discernible lavender, patchouli or vanilla smell! It was like it had the base soap, but they forgot to add the scents.

If you like these scents, you Have to try the Earhsong line of lotions. They have Patchouli and Vanilla and Patchouli and Lavender. I personally mix the patchouli vanilla with their Magic lotion, which is jasmine, sandlewood and patchoul. The Magic is suitable for men too. These lotions are all natural and use essential oils and the smell is strong, which I like. If you just want a hint, you will want to mix with a generic lotion. They are super affordable too. Now if they would just start making a body wash, I would be a happy camper! Until I can find a good body wash, I will continue to use Volcanic Ash Soap with Cocoa Butter and Patchouli:

The Body Shop Coconut Soap, 3.5 Ounce

It has a mild delicate scent and is so creamy. It lathers extremely well. It is my favorite soap from the body shop. The only other soap I like is Shea butter soap. I live in an area that has *extremely* hard water, so we have a commercial water softener that helps immensely, but can sometimes leave me feeling as though I have residual soap on my skin after rinsing. The Body Shop soaps do not feel that way, at all! They have a wonderful lather, scent and rinse completely, leaving my skin feeling soft and silky.

This is a good, clean-scented, everyday soap. My family loves it. I myself am not a soap user because I have very dry skin; however, I have used it in the past. Out Of Africa Organic Shea Butter Bar Soap

I'm making the move from liquid shampoo to soap/shampoo bars to cleanse my tighly coiled hair because it's more enviromentally sound. I saw this bar at Sally's Beauty Supply and I picked it up for the aformentioned purpose.

When washing my hair, I lathered the soap in my hand and applied the lather to my scalp. My scalp and hair were cleansed nicely and not stripped of moisture. I like this bar and will buy it again.

Thymes Agave Nectar Bar Soap 7 oz

I don't own this, so I can't say anything about lather, how long it lasts, etc. But I can tell you I smelled this recently and it's fantastic. Some of the Thymes products are so subtle that I can't even smell them. This one smells more strongly, and has a subtle but very nice citrusy smell--similar to a grapefruit type. And the bar itself is very cool looking with that agave flower in relief on the bar. I'm buying several of these as stocking stuffers. One possible downside: If this is the same size as in the store, then these are so much bigger than standard soaps (such as an Ivory soap bar) that arguably, some people, such as elderly female relatives, etc. might find them hard to handle...

Pomegranate Rose - Naturally Moisturizing Bath Bar, 4.25 oz,(Yardley London)

I was really excited when I saw in the drugstore that Yardley had a new feminine scented soap since I LOVE Yardley soaps because they are actually "cakes" of soap (that actually get softer and fall apart sooner or later vs mass drugstore consumer soaps) that are affordable with REAL natural ingredients that are not just mass produced with lots of cheap chemicals like other soaps. And I LOVE fruity/light floral scents. But when I tried the pomegranate rose soap, it didn't lather well and when I bathed with it, there was very little pomegranate rose scent and it didn't scent my body as I thought it would. In fact, the soap was as hard as a rock with no real moisturizing. It's a great idea but badly executed.

I love Yardley soap. I was excited when I saw a fragrance of it that I had never seen before. The fragrance pomegranate rose is not as strong as I'd like for it to be, but I guess you can't please everybody, as some people prefer soaps that are not very strongly scented.

The soap also has little texture bits in it that I love. I love the feel of the soap, the way it makes me feel clean, and most of all: it does not irritate my skin. I do have rather sensitive skin, and there are lots of soaps that make me itch, but Yardley is not one of them.

There is something about Yardley that I love the shape, the feel, the clean-feeling, the scent, the no-irritating skin. I love all varieties of Yardley that I've used. I love Yardley so much, it would be hard for me to give it anything less than 5 stars.
