Nubian Heritage Bar Soap

I am a redhead with blue eyes and very fair sensitive skin. I also have Rosecea. It's been a battle over the years to find products that do not make my face feel like I just washed with battery acid. This soap, the very first time I used it, reduced the amount of redness in my skin. Then I started using it all over and it healed my skin issues with dry flaky patches and mild psoriasis. With this soap I rarely have any dry patches. I've been using this soap exclusively for about 10 years. I tried a few of the other soaps in the nubian heritage line and they were great, but nothing like the black soap. I've turned so many people onto this soap... just about to order more!

This soap is fabulous on our Liberian daughter's skin, esp. in the winter months when it is extremely dry. My 14 year old daughter prefers it over any other soap. I have fair skin and it works well for me... I even use it for my face. I also LOVE the fact that the company is ownd by native Liberians, so we are supporting our daughter's home country!

I first got this soap when I was traveling through Portland Maine and I have to say this is a great soap. It has a great smell and it makes your skin feel fresh and clean. The five oz size is a bonus as well because it is a soap that will last at least a month and it is not an expensive soap. I would suggest shopping around because other websites have it for cheaper but if you are completely amazon loyal, this is a great soap.

My teenage son is just starting the phase of acne. He has very sensitive skin and I made the mistake of trying some of the topical cremes. :( Bad move. His skin is sensitive and it dried him out so bad it made it look worse. I ordered this item because I read that it helps heal blemishes and thought it might help with the pimples. Washing twice a day, morning and night, in less than 2 weeks his face cleared so much it is unreal. It reduced the redness and even shrunk the size of the existing pimples. You may think that ANY soap used twice a day would do this, but I can tell you that we have tried every remedy, every "sensitive skin soap" out there, every over the counter creme. I should also mention that the bar doesn't break down fast. Even when it gets left in the shower tray it doesn't get gross and slimy and it really lasts a long time. I have extensive scarring on my face from acne and my legs from the chicken pox. Within 2 days (TWO. DAYS!!) my facial scars were visibly lighter. For years I have used Ambi skin fade cream, dark spot reducer, Black&White bleaching cream, and nearly every other face cream/ natural skin remedy and NOTHING has worked as quickly or as effectively as this soap.

Ive used prescription acne medication for 3+ years and I have extremely sensitive skin as well (the strong chemicals will reek havoc on your skin). Too much moisture and Im oily, too little and Im flaking -with blackheads AGLORE. Thus far, this soap has kept my skin extremely balanced.

I simply wet my face and rub the bar once on each cheek (this creates enough suds to wash my entire face) and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes (I typically brush my teeth with it on). Rinse -and Im ready to go. Ive neglected my 2 prescription topicals for the past few days and Ive actually seen an improvement!

&As for the scarring on my legs: MY SKIN is lighter, but the scars are still pretty heavy (I expect them to take longer because they are much more scarred). I lather the soap on my legs AFTER I shower (sort of like you would shaving cream) and allow it to sit. Ive left it on overnight a few nights, with no irritation or flaking. It leaves an extremely pleasant smell & does not irritate my skin what-so-ever.

No big deal, just good old dial soap. Seems to get smaller all the time as they whittle the product down but keep the price up. A hint for savingsunwrap all the bars and let the excess moisture evaporate. It will make the soap last longer in the shower.

I have been using this soap for years because it is the only one I found that does not cause me to have an allergic reaction. My local stores stopped carrying the "Unscented" version, but thankfully Amazon has it and I can order when I need it. Classic white dial has a clean fresh smell and not a lot of strong fragrances. My daughter generally says "daddy you smell clean." The soap also cleans well without leaving a moisturizing residue like some other soaps. It also doesn't dry the skin out as much as Ivory does with daily use. No knock on Ivory as I use this quite often as well. Bulk packs is not my first choice, but you can't beat the deal on Amazon and I couldn't find this at Costco or Sam's club.

We like using Dial soap, especially the white as it has little to no scent and works well. We far prefer soap with no scent so this really works for us.

This was the only soap we used to buy. Unfortunately, the soap is not as long lasting and much softer now. The bar may have the same dimensions, but the back of the bar is scooped out. Less soap per bar now. Also, it seems to have water added so the bar is softer to begin with and melts in the shower. Too bad the company changed the formula and reduced the volume of the bar to keep the cost the same.

It has a mild floral sent and it is mild enough that you dudes who digg it will retain their manliness. I like to use the bar directly on my skin, rubbing, scrubbing every hard crevice on my body. The soap does not have a great lather, but it gets you clean. I find that it does not leave a film on my lean mean body. I've been on a spa-at-home kick lately and particularly interested in natural spa products. I came across Plantlife products when I was looking for some aromatherapy candles (which I bought from them and I deeply love). Carter and Bond Shaving Scuttle with Soap

I shave with a straight razor. Its old fashioned, but its pretty awesome. Instead of buying new blades every month, I only have to resharpen my razor. Soap is cheap too.

I decided to replace my old chipped mug that I would mix my lather up in and found this awesome looking scuttle. I'll admit I as much bought it for the name on in as for how it worked... This scuttle maintains heat very well, so your hot water stays hot throughout your shave, and the shape of the bowl allows the hot steam to help soften the soap.

This scuttle ALSO came with a very nice bar of shaving soap to go in the top. The soap is very nice and is a delightful change from my normal "William's Mug" soap. I really like this stuff much better!

My ONLY beef with this scuttle is that the opening into the water area is too small for my regular sized badger bristle brush to really get in there and get soaked. If the mouth was just a tad wider I would have given this a 5/5 rating. As it is, 4/5 for aesthetics, value, and usefulness.

I thought this was way bigger based on the picture. Bowl will not hold a small soap and you can forget about making any lather. If you want a scuttle get one of these.

I have been burning camphor for puja since 1977. This is by far the best and most energetically powerful I have ever used. I am American , but I have lived in India. These days I do five or six pujas per day.

While more expensive than other camphor on the market, this is so much better. It comes in a nice container with 64 good sized tablets, I usually break in two. This is PURE Indian camphor, NOT Chinese.

Pre de Provence French Milled Soap, 250g White Gardenia, 8.82 Ounce

I bought one white gardenia bar and loved it so much I turned around and bought 3 more for presents. It smells great, lasts long, great price--really large bar. I have bought several different fragrances of this brand, gardenia has to be one of the best. Many others are quite nice too--linden is wonderful and so is the honey almond. Well, and so are a few of the others. This would be great as a small gift--everyone needs soap! It lathers well and smells wonderful, but the scent does not linger after you bathe--a good thing in my opinion, as I don't want dueling scents when I apply perfume after a shower.

My wife has sensitive skin; this soap does not compound that problem. Also this soap has excellent fragrance stability.

I have been using Dr. Bronner's products for almost 2 years now. I really enjoy most of them and I like how there are virtually no harmful chemicals that I am putting on my body. I bought the Gallon of Eucalyptus because I find that during the winter when my skin is dry, the Eucalyptus helps with my dry skin better than some of the other scents (Peppermint). I use the Peppermint during the summer when that isn't an issue. Also I like to use this as a shampoo every now and then, and it doesn't dry my scalp as much. One thing that I think could be better is the scent, it's not bad, but it reminds me of cough syrup for some reason. This product, like the other scents, also can be used to clean such as floors, countertops, bathrooms etc. so it is particularily nice to keep in the shower, and then I can grab it to clean a spill or dirt in the bathroom. I dilute this product probably 1/5 product to water.

This soap is fantastic.....works just like the others but smells like eucalyptus. Wonderful smell and perfect for the winter. Normally I use peppermint, but it cools you so much it's not good for the cold climate so i switched to this and love it.

Madina African Black Soap Cocoa Butter W/Vitamin E 3.5 oz

I bought this thinking it was another African soap similar to the Dudu Osun soap that has all natural ingredients, except that this used cocoa butter for the fat content instead of shea butter (which is in the Dudu Osun brand).

This version of black soap has triclosan (labeled with a similar name used overseas for this chemical), which is an antibacterial chemical I am trying to get away from using because of health issues associated with it (it's reportedly a hormone disruptor, for example). It also has other chemicals in it that are not natural ingredients. The soap works well, though, so it's not a total loss, but I'm not paying this much again for this particular soap. Next time it will be the Dudu Osun brand.

The seller did ship the product within a few days, so it's not like it's a problem with the seller--it's the product. Save your money and get the real thing, whether it's Dudu Osun or another REAL african soap. This soap isn't much different from what you'd buy in a grocery store, except that it has cocoa butter in it, which is easier on the skin than most detergent bars we call "soap."

I had some similar experiences to the reviewer SaraLevine...dry skin and redness around the eyes and forehead. I tried a lot of different soaps and creams...even other brands of black soap, including the more expensive organic brands. For some reason, this particular Madina black soap is the only thing that has worked for me. I found that I need to wash my face with it, but rinse it off after a few seconds to get the best results. I get acne on occasion...or I used to, when I first used this soap it got rid of the acne more quickly and, now, that I've been using it for a couple of months I haven't even seen any more acne. As Sara said, it makes the oily parts not so oily and the dry parts not so dry. An amazing soap for sure!

I have problems with my skin. Its weird. Its sensative, oily yet dry and nothing seemed to work. I also have acne. This soap is a miracle. I know I must sound like a info-mercial but i'm not. This soap caters to my sensative skin. Nothing damaging or itching happened when I used it. It made the oily parts not oily and the dry parts not so dry. It didnt cure my acne but prevented lots more from popping up. I still have those under the skin zits that hurt but it decreased it by alot. I used to get like 3-4 of them every week and now I get them about 2x a month! It also prevented lots of those little zits from taking over my face. Even I see a dermatologist I will still use Black soap. It also helped make my skin tone even. For less than $10 a bar what do you have to lose? Try this soap you will love it. Rose Geranium & Citrus Hand Soap ( Multi-Pack)

The scent of this soap is very subtle and pleasant, and not overly feminine so the boys at home should not object. The soap is also very gentle and doesn't overdry your hands with frequent washing.

Most stores carry EO's lavender and may citrus scents so this is not always the easiest to find at stores.

If anyone reading this review is in love with the fragrance released by the leaf of a rose geranium, you will not be disappointed with this product! I have purchased enough of this wonderful hand soap to give as gifts...as well as for my own use, of course! :O)

I have tried many brands of liquid hand soap, from Softsoap to Nature's Gate via Mrs. Meyer's and Kiss My Face and South of France -and this EO soap is definitely the best among them. It's vegan and cruelty-free, has excellent texture and consistency, is not drying, and would neither drip nor dry & clog the tip of the pump. And it smells wonderfully, I should not forget to mention that. The container may not be the most elegant, but you can always buy a refill and pour to your own containers.

This product is wonderful, there is a light fragrance from the essential oils, soothing, and the dispenser is a nice one. Will definately buy again but probably in an unbreakable larger size. I did order this as part of Amazon's subscription program but when it shipped there was no packing material and one of the dispensers broke at the neck very messy package. Amazon replaced it and I am shipping back the broken ones. The warehouse shipped this product with another big bottle of hand soap and a large hard dog toy. The other bottle of hand soap leaked terribly too so I don't know what happened but since the lid was really loose, I assume that it was not tightened before it was packaged. I cleaned up the bottles to return to Amazon, not a fun chore at all.

I am very disappointed in Amazon's inconsistent packaging of subscription items. This is not the first time it happened, but I didn't report it last time. I am not happy with the return customer service. This is the 2nd time I have had to call and this person barely spoke English and clearly did not listen to me. I have 2 lable returns for items from the same box1 label return per box. I guess they can throw it all into one box but I have to ship back in 2 boxes. Not a happy customer of Amazon right now.

I discovered EO Hand Soap during a visit to Super Supplements. I am always concerned about using soaps in public restrooms since my hands are so sensitive. Particularly during the Winter months I have a great deal of difficulty keeping my hands moisturized. When I have to use a public restroom usually the soaps used drain my hands of all moisture with one use. I have to be careful about those that I use at home and elsewhere.
