Auromere Chandrika Bar Soap 2.64 oz

Auromere Chandrika Bar Soap 2.64 ozThis is one of the most popular soaps in India. The patchouli and sandalwood scents are strong, and this is a very nice, slightly gritty green bar that makes a shower an exotic experience. Nice to scent the drawer, so put a few unopened packages in your lingerie or underwear drawer and enjoy the incense-like fragrance.

About half the size of a typical domestic bar of bath soap, this soap lathers and rinses well, and is sufficiently hard to last a decent amount of time. But the real reason to get this soap is the exotic scent. Fantastic. I was looking for patchouli scented soap, and gave this a try. While there is some patchouli in it, there are also other scents. The overall effect is powerful without being overwhelming.

I think it's a great find at a good value. I'll be buying more.

Malachite Soap Rock

Malachite Soap RockSmells great (but isn't overpowering or chemical smelling); looks beautiful in the guest bathroom; great for giving as a gift. Definitely a unique take on soap.

These are so beautiful. I like these for the common bath. Everybody uses them to wash their hands, the rock soap glistening like you might find in a stream. I could buy myself some flowers but I like these! I will only vouch for the green malachite color. I have know idea what real malachite looks like this big.

I bought this as a Christmas present for a friend. Her son loves it and can't wait to wash his hands now! I was afraid that the real product would not look as nice as the pictures, but I was happy to see that the soap was more beautiful in person. You don't even have to use it it looks good just sitting on a counter and smells nice. The only issue I had was that the soap that came in the mail was not the 14.4 oz size, but the 6 oz (4 stars instead of 5) ... It came ahead of the estimated delivery date with no other problems. I will be buying another soap rock for my own home!

Vermont Soap Organics - Shea Butter Bar 3.5 Oz Bar Soap

Vermont Soap Organics - Shea Butter Bar 3.5 Oz Bar SoapI use organic or natural soaps because I'm trying to eliminate chemicals from my life. I figure I can't do much about what I breath in, but I can control the products I use on my body. The Vermont Soaps are a great line. They have light fragrances and don't overpower like some other soaps I've used. They leave my skin soft and supple. If you're looking to control the chemicals in your life, try the Vermont Soaps. You won't be disappointed.

Vermont soap doesn't compromise on their products; they stick to the least harmful ingredients. However, in this case the formulation just isn't working for me. The smell is somewhat off-putting, the bars are very small and they start off with really sharp edges. The soap doesn't lather up all that well but I can forgive that because i know a lot of the 'lather' from normal soaps is due to harsh chemicals.

So even though I only can give this one 3 stars I remain a fan of Vermont Soap in general.

Very disappointed in the size/amount of product for the price. I have used shea products that were more effective and the quantity was larger.

Thymes Bergamot Vert Bath Soap

Thymes Bergamot Vert Bath SoapI normally shower with shower gel, but this bar of soap may have permanently converted me to bar soaps... it is SO good. I've used a number of other types of bar soaps but this one hands down has the best lather, best scent (which lasts a decent amount of time on your skin after you dry), and even though the price is steep it lasts a decent amount of time.

This soap has turned me into a Thymes fan :D

This is the best bergamot soap I have ever bought, the scent lasts to the last bit and it feels great on your skin! Only a little bit too expensive.

Syrian Soap 200g - Olive Oil Soap from Mesopotamia(1 bar)

Syrian Soap 200g - Olive Oil Soap from Mesopotamia(1 bar)I was looking around for facial cleanser and came across a review by Maria Orfan for this Syrian soap. I put it on my wish list and played around for about a week, putting it in my cart and then taking it out, so on and so forth. Finally I ordered it. I was intrigued by Maria's assertion that it can be used on hair as I have been having bad hair days for about a month, and the truth is that I nearly ruined my formerly healthy hair over a year ago by using a L'Oreal hair dye at home. Thank god I only left it in for half the recommended time before rinsing, otherwise I'd have come out bald. Anyway it has been a long haul back from that mess and I could kick myself for doing it.

The first day I recieved it I used it to wash my face at night. It cleaned beautifully and actually did NOT leave my face with that tight, dry feeling that every other soap I've ever used did. Instead, it left me skin smooth and moisturized. So I tried it in the shower next day. As a shampoo it does not produce much lather to speak of, which is a good thing as this means there are no sulphates. I washed the rest of me with it and when I got out, again my skin felt smooth and lightly moisturized. I had used a moisturizing masque after shampooing and when I dried my hair, a metamorphosis had taken place: no dry, crackly ends! Just soft, well-conditioned, shiny hair! Now I have been using it every other day for the past week. I don't condition every day; just once or twice a week. On days that I do not use the rinse-out conditioner, I just rub about 5-6 drops of argan oil through the ends of my hair and blow-dry. You might think that because this soap is comprised of olive oil that it would weigh down your hair, but mine was not heavy-feeling, and I have very fine hair. I am having good hair days again for the first time in months.

My skin has responded great to this soap. Now my skin care regimen is this: Syrian soap to cleanse most days, morning and night. Rosewater toner. A salt scrub cleanser by LUSH once per week to exfloiate. I alternate oils on my face: during the day I use rosehip oil, camellia oil and/or argan oil beneath Gorgeous moisturizer by LUSH. At night I use tamanu oil and argan oil beneath NZ Fusion Moon Creme. But the base of all this is this fantastic Syrian Soap.

Keep in mind that this is not a pretty-smelling soap. To me, it does not smell bad but others may beg to differ. You can use a good-smelling conditioner after shampoo; I like LUSH American Cream and Morrocan Oil Moisture Mask. Also, if you are just switching to all-natural from a preservative and sulphate-laden shampoo, your hair will need time to adjust to it, but stick with it and you will have the healthiest hair you've ever seen. If you are teenaged or in your 20's or early 30's, you may not even need moisturizer after using this on your face and body. Since I'm 49 and need all the moisture I can get, I like to use the oils!

This soap also contains laurel oil, sea water and pot ash and that's it for ingredients. Laurel oil acts as an antibacterial agent so is good for the scalp. Laurel oil is actually more expensive than olive oil so the higher the laurel content, the more expensive the soap. Given the price of this one, I'd say content is about 12% though I am not absolutely certain of that. Some soaps contain a much as 45% laurel oil, though I have not seen those sold on amazon. These ingredients are boiled in a cauldron until the soapmaker knows the time is right, then poured into molds to cool and cut by hand. After that they are "cured" in the sun for about 9 months, changing in color from green to blue-green and finally brown. Then they are stamped, wrapped and sold in markets in Syria...and now in America!

Syrian Soap is one of the best things you can do for your skin and hair. Again, the scent doesn't send me; neither does it offend me. Apparently (from what I've read) adding scent to this soap decreases the effectiveness of the other ingredients. But you may not like it if you don't like the smell of olives. Some others have compared the smell to rubber tires or automotive grease, but it does not smell like that to me. I am just so enchanted by the positive changes I've seen in my skin and especially my hair that it could smell like goats and I'd probably still use it.

The laurel in this is what gives it the edge over plain olive soap. It naturally tones and nourishes the skin especially as it runs down my face while I shampoo. It's just incredible on hair and I love the laurel for my scalp even though I have no issues. I've purchased 20.

I typically buy the soap in Syria. However, with the recent troubles (so sad) it is a bit difficult to get there. The supplier sells the exact same products you find in Syria. So the quality is excellent. The smell, texture and skin sensation of the soap is superb. I like it.

Since I sweat a lot my skin requires good moisturizing. I believe this soap does a good job to keep my skin as healthy as when I was born.

Citrus Magic Refill 32 Oz Cleanwell Antibac Liquid Hand Soap

CleanWell Nature's AntiBac Liquid Soap Lavender Refill -- 32 fl ozI have been using the FOAM version of the lavender for few years now but accidentally ordered the new gel version and really hated the smell! It is not only not much like lavender it actually stinks although not in a terrible way but all you really smell is the medicinal/herbal thymol, which is the antibacterial agent in Cleanwell's soaps.

I don't understand why they simply don't reformulate this to give the lavender more of a chance to come through.

This stuff smells like a candy cane!! My kids are SO excited about it! My son (5-years-old) is allergic to normal antibacterial soap, so we got this stuff to keep the germs at bay during cold/flu season. He is beyond happy to have it in his bathroom and tells everyone about his candy cane soap. I have also had guests comment on it and ask where I got it. My favorite hand soap, bar none.

LATHER Lemongrass Soap, 4-Ounce Bar

LATHER Lemongrass Soap, 4-Ounce BarThis was the soap provided in a 5 star hotel I stayed in. The only hotel provided soap I ever loved and have ordered it since. Just the right amount of smooth, soft suds. Nice smell and lasts a long time. Pricey but good stuff!

This so is so wonderful. The fragrance is mild, correct amount of suds, and leaves the skin so clean and fresh. I also use pre de provence pineapple soap. I like to feel clean and fresh and these two soaps do that.

Jasmine Soap

Bar Soap - Jasmine, 6 Units / 2.6 ozI started buying these in Philly & then yrs later when I was living out in Oakland. They are really good. I tend to like the scent, & the initial price, plus there's hardly any animal fat used in the manufacturing of them. Also, as much as I'm fast becoming a bit of an environmentalist the strictly paper packaging only isn't too bad either as opposed to thick wax paper & plastic. When I get a fireplace or woodstove, the wrapper makes great kindling too.

I just think that the shipping & handling is a bit much. I worked in a mailroom before. It does not take nearly 5 dollars to ship out 2 bars of soap at the standard rate. Sounds like a certain seller is pocketing a little bit more if you ask me. Other than that the product is fine.

The bars were very small and the scent was lacking. I would not have purchased it if I had noticed it was made in China!

Buy Jasmine Soap Now

I bought this soap from my local Asian grocer. I had created a homemade scrub that smelled like jasmine and wanted a soap to match. The jasmine smell of this soap is there but not very strong. I am used to using Dove, so this was kind of drying to my skin. The packaging is very pretty and "green" as it uses less paper than a boxed soap. Overall, if you are looking for some natural, old fashioned type soap and don't want any strong fancy scents, you may like this.

I thought the scent would be stronger. I love jasmine and I wanted to use these whenever I bathed. As another reviewer mentioned, these smell no different than plain soap. The paper is decorative, though, so I will keep them.

Auromere Ayurvedic Bar Soap Himalayan Rose - 2.75 Oz, 2 pack

Auromere Ayurvedic Bar Soap Himalayan Rose - 2.75 Oz, 2 packLike the other Auromere soap I reviewed this one had no scent at all. Lathers very well and rinses clean and the all natural ingredients are great. I ordered the single bar and not the 2 pack. Extra gentle and for dry to normal skin. Small bar is easy to handle. Made in India and imported to California.

Defense Soap Bar - 5 Pack

Defense Soap Bar - 5 PackI have had tinea versicolor (sun spots) for years and tried this soap & after about a month all the spots are completely gone. I am very impressed, this soap smells great and took care of an issue I have every summer and medication both topical and by mouth have not cleared up.
