I am a redhead with blue eyes and very fair sensitive skin. I also have Rosecea. It's been a battle over the years to find products that do not make my face feel like I just washed with battery acid. This soap, the very first time I used it, reduced the amount of redness in my skin. Then I started using it all over and it healed my skin issues with dry flaky patches and mild psoriasis. With this soap I rarely have any dry patches. I've been using this soap exclusively for about 10 years. I tried a few of the other soaps in the nubian heritage line and they were great, but nothing like the black soap. I've turned so many people onto this soap... just about to order more!

I first got this soap when I was traveling through Portland Maine and I have to say this is a great soap. It has a great smell and it makes your skin feel fresh and clean. The five oz size is a bonus as well because it is a soap that will last at least a month and it is not an expensive soap. My teenage son is just starting the phase of acne. He has very sensitive skin and I made the mistake of trying some of the topical cremes. :( Bad move. His skin is sensitive and it dried him out so bad it made it look worse. I ordered this item because I read that it helps heal blemishes and thought it might help with the pimples. Washing twice a day, morning and night, in less than 2 weeks his face cleared so much it is unreal. It reduced the redness and even shrunk the size of the existing pimples. You may think that ANY soap used twice a day would do this, but I can tell you that we have tried every remedy, every "sensitive skin soap" out there, every over the counter creme. I should also mention that the bar doesn't break down fast. Even when it gets left in the shower tray it doesn't get gross and slimy and it really lasts a long time. COMPLEXTION: Dark / Moca ChocolateI have extensive scarring on my face from acne and my legs from the chicken pox. Within 2 days (TWO. DAYS!!) my facial scars were visibly lighter. For years I have used Ambi skin fade cream, dark spot reducer, Black&White bleaching cream, and nearly every other face cream/ natural skin remedy and NOTHING has worked as quickly or as effectively as this soap.
Ive used prescription acne medication for 3+ years and I have extremely sensitive skin as well (the strong chemicals will reek havoc on your skin). Too much moisture and Im oily, too little and Im flaking -with blackheads AGLORE. Thus far, this soap has kept my skin extremely balanced.
I simply wet my face and rub the bar once on each cheek (this creates enough suds to wash my entire face) and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes (I typically brush my teeth with it on). Rinse -and Im ready to go. Ive neglected my 2 prescription topicals for the past few days and Ive actually seen an improvement!
&As for the scarring on my legs: MY SKIN is lighter, but the scars are still pretty heavy (I expect them to take longer because they are much more scarred). I lather the soap on my legs AFTER I shower (sort of like you would shaving cream) and allow it to sit. Ive left it on overnight a few nights, with no irritation or flaking. It leaves an extremely pleasant smell & does not irritate my skin what-so-ever.
I am definitely purchasing more of this soap. Ive only had it for about a week, & already I CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT!
