100% Natural Handcrafted Soap
I bought this out of the blue never having tried the line before. The glycerin part of the soap is OK. I found it a bit drying for winter time use, but the citrus aromatherapy is very nice. What makes this soap strange is that there is a loofah molded into it lol. It's too rough and scratchy to rub the soap directly onto your skin ... you could literally tear your skin to pieces if you did that. Rubbing the soap directly onto a washcloth or bath sponge is pretty much the only way to use it, but even that turns into a chore because as the soap wears away the loofah parts jut out and get in the way.Odd soap. I like a hard scrub but this is too hard.

I tried the rose geranium scent and was a little nervous about not being able to smell it first before purchasing, but it is very light and subtle and actually leaves no fragrance on my skin anyway so really it is just a faint fragrance while you're showering. The soap is mild and on par with the other all-natural gentle soaps I usually use. I am happy to have found this company as they seem to really be committed to using truly pure & natural ingredients. Defense Soap 4oz. Bar
The first time I had a skin infection and was on long-term anti-biotics I also got opportunistic fungal infections. Those were not getting taken care of by standard prescription-level ointments and cream, which was worrying as I was nowhere near close to the end of my anti-biotics. Searching for a way to help get rid of the fungus I ran across the Defense products and decided that since they were made to help stop the spread of some pretty nasty diseases of the skin in MMA, it was worth a try. Within two weeks the fungal infections were on the retreat after using the soap along with an antiseptic wash (which was for the bacterial infection and did nothing against the fungal infection). Once the fungal infection had been abated in two more weeks I went on to use Defense soap and gel with my other shower items. After I got over the first skin infection and had it recur, I used the Defense products and got no fungal infections on the second long course of anti-biotics.Now I've switched over to the Defense soap and gel (which I use for my hair). After 3 years of use, these products have proven to be effective for what they are: a means of defense against catching and spreading fungal infections. Used alone they help in their prevention, as my second course of anti-biotics demonstrated. While normally allergic to standard fragrances, I have found no allergic reaction to those involved with the soap and gel. The doctor who treated me is an infectious disease specialist and has recommended this product to other patients also on anti-biotic use with good results.
In all a good and well made product.
Update. This soap is triclosan free. This is what the FDA currently says about tricloasan. "Triclosan is not currently known to be hazardous to humans. But several scientific studies have come out since the last time FDA reviewed this ingredient that merit further review.
Animal studies have shown that triclosan alters hormone regulation. However, data showing effects in animals don't always predict effects in humans. Other studies in bacteria have raised the possibility that triclosan contributes to making bacteria resistant to antibiotics."
I have had ringworm for the past 3 weeks and have been miserable with them i bought this soap and used it along with other treatment such as vineagar and ointment my ringworm cleared up within a week!

I know the soap is expensive, but it really works on jock itch. I've been suffering from jock itch for years, and so far only prescribed medication would work. I found this soap at my gym, and decided to give it a try. At first, I thought it didn't work, because I used it directly on my testicles and it really didn't do anything. Then I read somewhere that when using antifungal soap, you should never apply the soap itself on the testicles, but rather use it in a lather with a scrubbing cloth then apply. It works...This is the first time I'm not going to the doctor in getting another prescription. I just buy this soap, and it's cheaper on amazon than my gym. So thank you Amazon.Want Defense Soap 4oz. I am a 28 year old female Floridian.I have very sensitive skin and eczema, and have had to give up on wearing deodorant due to the irritation (don't tell anyone!). I find that if I use this soap on my underarms (let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing) I have very little problem with underarm odor, all day, even in the heat of the summer. I have not found it to be drying at all when I use it on the rest of my body, though I only do so about once a week (I use Dove the other days). Not only that, but it smells delightful. It is a fantastic soap to take on trips as you are using public bathrooms and transportation and staying in hotels, etc. It was great to have when I was visiting a friend in the hospital; you just can't be too careful.
Dial antibacterial soap can wreak havoc on your skin. The antibacterial agents in Defense seem to be gentle to the skin, yet get the job done.

I was at bath and body works and got reeled into this one. I was going to buy some strawberry soap and the girl said this had a different smell to it if i felt more adventurous. I sniffed the bottle and sure enough it had a nice twangy smell. What I didn't think of was that with full on washing my hands with the stuff it may be a bit too much. Now every time i wash my hands it smells like some college kid puked up happy hour in my dressing room. I honestly get nauseated. Way too tart. This is the first time I ever disliked a scent at bath and body works. I am not a picky customer but I honestly can't wait for the bottle to end so I can switch to a different scent.I am not exaggerating. It really takes me back to a night in college where i drank one too many sex of the beaches and found myself hugging the porcelain god at waffle house.

Dr Bronner's Lavender Castile Soap - 1 Pack
I bought this bottle of soap a little over a year ago for $16 at my local Target. For a college student, that seems expensive but it was totally worth it.Because it is such a highly concentrated soap, you do not have to use very much at all, which is probably why I still have 1/4 of the bottle left. I have literally used it for everything. I have extremely sensitive yet **acne** prone skin, and a little squirt of this on a hot rag has **cleared my skin completely**. I have not had any trouble with pimples or sensitivity since using this; after I wash my face I slather on organic aloe vera to help protect my skin so the combination of the two is wonderful. I also use this as a shampoo/body wash. Literally a quarter size squirt in the hand can wash my super long,thick mane of hair, body and face with suds left to spare and because it doesn't have any SLS in it to lather, it doesn't over bubble if that makes sense.
Washing my clothes with this has been amazing also. I started breaking out in a rash over the summer when I switched the detergents I used so I started using this instead! My formula for a large college-kid load of laundry is, take a washcloth(or sock) and squirt the Lavender soap all over it until it is fairly saturated and then throw the rag(or sock) in the wash with your clothes. They come out extremely clean and smelling awesome.
I also used this as a replacement for toothpaste when I broke out in ulcers all in my mouth and the coconut oil in it helped heal them in about 2 days whereas normal toothpaste was irritating them. I have since switched from normal toothpaste to Tom's and that solved the ulcer problem :p
Ah, this soap seriously is magical.
I have been using this lavender soap with a hot, clean washcloth in the morning and at night for two weeks and my nose pores are the cleanest they have been in years. Maybe its coincidence, maybe i have changed a habit or some unknown environmental trigger that was the culprit...but it seems like this stuff works.
I wouldnt use it for shampoo as it leaves my hair pretty gnarly but for my face and cleaning just about everything else? Well the hippies are on to something with this soap. The religious ramblings on the package are amusing, something to read while you soap your buttcrack in the shower!

I absolutely love this soap, and it's smell. Hence the four stars, DESPITE it being a bit too powerful. When I use this on my face, it tends to sting and burn the skin on my upper cheeks, cheeks, and lower jawline. I generally have sensitive skin and switched to this product to (a) use more natural products and (b) because it claimed to be non-drying and better for sensitive skin. This being said, I find that if I put only a couple drops in my hands and dilute with quite a bit of water, it's not nearly as bad, and the smell is intoxicating. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a natural, healthy alternative.

"Pacific Force" is supposedly the same as the "Original Blue" so those who love the traditional scent will be glad to hear that since the "Original Blue" is not in stores anymore. I don't find that it lathers as nicely as the original blue.Must say I haven't used the other scent "Artic Surf" yet, but I'm sure it is pleasant as well. Back in the 80's Coast had a yellow bar called Sun Spray" (I am showing my age here), which was quite nice.
So give it a try. And by the way those familiar with my posts know I am a big fan of other soaps too (Imperial Leather and Irish Spring)

This is really strong smelling and has too much dye in it it stains wash cloths. I used to LOVE coast the yellow bar (sun spray) coast bar they had in the 80's and 90's. I miss it. Since then coast has not been the same, I've been using safeguard now but would love to come back to coast if they bring back the yellow coast bars back. They have the throwback coast which is the old packaging but NOT the old original Coast eye-opening scent. I don't like that they tried to fool us making us think this was the ORIGINAL SCENT coast when it's only the throw back packaging with the same old pacific force inside. What a tease. The idea is fun, but the package is a bit too basic, the soap does not look like make from good material. For $6, I expect it will be more elegant or pack it like a gift item. New Zealand Rotorua Mud Soap
During a family trip to the Spa there in Rotarua, New Zealand, I was curious about the Mud soap. I saw it in several shops at places we were visiting. Out of curiosity I bought a bar and I have really liked it. Sometimes soaps can be harsh on skin, but this one is very gentle.
