I'm diabetic and I have issues with boils and abcesses. Most products that are supposed to help with this dry out the skin, but this soap doesn't do that! It has a nice clean scent and my skin feels really good. I've only been using it for a few days, so I don't see a difference in my skin issues yet, but I already love this soap! I even used it on my scalp yesterday (I have dry scalp, also) and it's helped with that already! Yes, it's pricy, but SO worth it!

I purchased this as I read it may help breakouts. I haven't noticed that it helps a ton in that category, but I would say in combination with baking soda and other things I've been trying my skin has gotten a little better. I have searched all over for the older style Lava that is heavy on the pumice, which really gets the tough grime out of your skin after working on machinery all day.This is not it. There is much less pumice and a lot more "moistrizers."
That said, this is still a lot better than GoJo and other porducts sold in Home Depot, Mennard's, Lowes. Even the auto parts shops no longer carry the right stuff.

Licorice Skin Whitening Lightening Pink Soap
I bought this item after reading on ehow.com that licorice root extract works well on fading dark spots. I was getting dark patches on my face like my mother did when she was my age. I hoped I would not get them but Oh No!!! Anyway with my first use, I saw a difference. The exfoliation was magnificent. My skin squeaked. I washed my whole body, then rinsed and as I toweled off my skin was still sloughing. So I got back in the shower and used a loofah along with the soap again. OMG I could not believe the dead skin I must of had that I missed all this time even with using a loofah sponge! So when I shower or bathe I wash once, rinse wait a couple minutes then wash again as this soap keeps working to exfoliate apparently after the first wash. Now as for lightening... I was going somewhere after my 3rd use of this soap and I put on my foundation. I was amazed that my face had become too light for it. I had to buy lighter make-up! All over my body I am at least a shade lighter and on my face and arms perhaps as much as 2 shades. The only setback is you must moisturize since your skin will be striped but you should moisturize anyway right? I bought another bar and am back for more as I do not want to be without. Oh and after my bath or shower even washing my face my nails are whitened like I scrubbed them for 10 minutes! Even after I garden.Love this soap!

Nubian Heritage African Black Soap Balancing Moisturizer
I use the black seed oil soap to clean my face twice daily so I was looking for a product containing black seed oil to aid as a daily moisturizer. This is the perfect product. It is not greasy and makes your skin feel very smooth and works wonderfully under my mineral make-up. I will purchase this product again.
Yardley Oatmeal and Almond Bar Soap, 4.25 Ounce
My 6 year old son has eczema. I was tired of the medicated soaps and opted for something new and natural. This soap has done wonders for his skin. The soap is a little coarse to the touch it is soft scented and does not leave the skin with a film or residue. After one week, I have already seen a tremendous difference in his skin. Great product and it's affordable.
It has been a long time since I used Dove (Over two months when I wrote this review) and somehow I forgot about the Dove experience. I have deducted a star from Yardley, and change my conclusion. Dove is the superior soap, Dove is the only soap that leaves my skin soft, and it does not leave any tightness whatsoever, just like the more expensive body wash (Along with better moisture!). Yardley leaves quite a bit of that tightness that makes me feel sticky. Dove is overall the best soap on the affordable market (Olay is better, but at 7 bucks a bar, not worth it, along with many other exotic soaps), but Yardley is still a good soap.

I originally picked this up on a spout of homesickness, (I used to live in England and miss it a great deal some days), all I saw was the "London", I'm usually particular when it comes to soap because it's a long commitment, but, one sniff and that was gone. All of Yardleys varieties smell delicious, but this is the one I settled upon for now (The oatmeal just sounded so soothing, and it is!). This stuff smells amazing, this is, by FAR the best smelling commercially available brand of soap.
After long, drawn out side by side testing of both the popular Dove Beauty Bar (the standard for bar soap, of course) and Yardley's, I've been attempting to discern which one was better, overall.
Feel:
The Dove beauty bar contains quite a bit of moisturizing creme (So much so that it's not technically soap!), so this would appear to be hard for Yardley to come ahead just at first, however Yardley contained so many natural skin conditioners that it also made my skin just as soft as, if not softer than the Dove Beauty bar. They both left that certain tightness on the skin that all bar soaps do, I suppose that's where the phrase "Squeaky clean" comes in. I will note that the softness of Dove seems to last longer, however I can not be certain because I forgot an important variable, I used a different lotion. Yardley has amazing natural exfoliants that Dove lacks, which made my skin feel cleaner, but dove however does sell an exfoliating variety that I have yet to try.
Lather:
This is probably one of the important things when it comes to picking a soap, just the feel of the lather. I did this test without a loofah, just to get a pure idea of the soap. Yardley's came into a much richer and creamier lather on its own than Dove did!
Look:
While Dove has always helped me to maintain a good young complexion, Yardley added an extra "glow" to my skin, which made me look perkier and overall better.
Smell:
I never particularly liked the smell of Dove. It smelled like soap. Maybe it's because Dove used to be the only bar soap I used, so, it just by default was only comparable to itself, but Yardly has an extremely good scent, winning this part by far.
Residue:
This may go into feel, but, It seems to be something else, so it gets it's own category. This is where Yardley's lost some points with me. Dove leaves absolutely no soap residue (once more, it's not technically soap, it's a beauty bar), which gives skin a nice long lasting clean feel. Yardley's, on the other hand, is soap. Which means it leaves soap residue, which by the end of the day can make my skin feel gross. This is a characteristic of all soap non-dove soaps, which is what sets Dove apart from the rest. It goes into the chemistry of soap. It's just how it's made.
Melt:
Neither Yardley or Dove melt like other cheaper soaps, This was tested vigorously because this is what chased me away from bar soaps for some time. I got two brand new bars of both Yardley and Dove, used all four to wash once, put one bar of Yardleys on a dish by the shower and the other bar of Yardleys in it's original box by the shower, Likewise I put one dove by the shower on the dish and another in it's original box. They were both left on the ledge for two months (And that shower is used at least twice, sometimes three times a day!). Considering it's a smaller bathroom that gets hot easily, I really expected mush. The yardley's was practicaly like the day I left it, both bars perfectly usable after a quick rinse (Dirt got on all four bars, but, that was to be expected), Dove fared usable, but not as well as Yardleys.
Overall:
I would drop Dove for Yardley's in a heart beat if Yeardley didn't leave that soapy feeling, but, I love so many things about both, I just have both and let my mood decide.
Note: I compared Yardley with Dove soap, this is because of the vast popularity of Dove soap as the standard bar soap, and as the generally accepted best bar soap.

The Yardley soap is a very good product overall. It is lightly scented and coarse to touch. The soap doesn't leave a heavy scent or a build up of scum after one uses it. Also, the soap lasts quite a while for those who are budget minded. I would suggest a slanted soap dish to extend its life. This soap is wonderful. Both my husband and I love it. I have sensitive skin that is extremely dry and his job makes his skin dry. I have always had to use either a lot of lotion after showering or oil so I wouldn't look and feel dry and itch constantly and he would only use lotion if I forced it on him. After using this soap once we noticed a huge difference in how our skin felt. Now after using it just a few times, I only need a little lotion on a couple of places and he hasn't had to use any at all. It has a light, fresh scent that is delightful. It rinses clean and your skin feels fresh and soft and looks healthy and supple. The KISS MY FACE olive oil soaps are wonderful for dry skin. My skin hasn't felt better and as far as my face goes--the pores look much less congested in the magnifying mirror and my skin looks more smooth in the regular mirror. I generally use the unscented bar because some areas of my skin are super-sensitive to fragrance. However, thought I would try the bar with the Green Tea fragrance because the smell of the unscented bar reminds me of motor oil. (THe smell doesn't stick to you after the bath tho, thank goodness!). THe green tea soap is great for mosturizing but I am finding that my more "sensitive" areas are getting a little itchy with the fragranced bar. Guess I'll have to go back to the one without scent and find someone to give the other 6 bars to. I will, however, be sticking with the KISS MY FACE olive oil soaps as its the only one that works for the dryness of my skin without irritating it.

The bars are huge and last a while, they won't melt away in a week like most soaps. I have just begun to get into the DIY (do it yourself)home projects to save money. One project being to create your own laundry soap. There are diffent ways to make laundry soap both dry and liquid. I found one easy recipe that called for Zote laundry soap. I live on the east coast up north so trying to find this bar soap locally is pretty much impossible. We only seem to have Fels-Naptha. When I found it here on Amazon I was so excited. I must say that this has been great. I purchased the soap and it arrived very quickly. I have already made my fisrt batch of dry laundry soap and love it. It has a light citrus scent and I haven't had any problems using it. Soap smells good, sensitive on your skin, all natural and does it's job cleaning. Only down fall is that its small and goes by too quickly. Sometimes you might be better off just buying their products off their website due to sales they have once in a while. Plus they have more products to look into buying.
I placed it in the shower Monday morning & by Tuesday the bar had shrunk it a quarter of the size. It was used 3 times. After my shower Tuesday morning there was seriously nothing left.This item feels good! It can clean the oil easily. But be careful that don't touch it with eyes.
It is natural which is good!This is the best thing I have ever used on my sensitive skin. It is absolutely mild and natural, I loved it. I think it would be great for babies and kids. I grew up "itchy" from both bath soap and laundry soap, I'm sure it drove my Mom crazy, trying (in those days of the mid 1960's) trying to find something that cleaned without making me turn red and itch.
It is also a very luxurious soap, so both my inner itchy child and the adult woman who would love a bit of luxury, are very satisfied!I did not like this soap. Aloe Olive Oil Soap
I use aloe vera from minor scars and moisturizing. Since it also has Russian popular medical herb plantain, which is very commonly used as antiseptic, it's good for treatment of acne. That what I use it for.

I can't say enough positive things about Plantlife soaps.I came to natural soaps for a very specific reason--a husband whose eczema was virtually out of control. For years, we'd tried keeping him on soaps designed for sensitive skin. While this would generally calm flare-ups slightly, it wouldn't prevent them from creeping up again. Admittedly, since beginning to use Plantlife's soaps, my husband is NOT eczema free... BUT his skin is drastically improved and his flare-ups are down to about 10% of what they once were.
The scents of Plantlife's soaps are remarkably pleasant too. I've yet to find one that is offensive to my nose--they're delicately done, not over-powering or too "perfume-y."
So if you're thinking of switching to herbal soaps to treat your skin to the best, most natural clean possible--try some Plantlife soaps. If you're simply looking for some aromatherapy or some way to mix-up your usual soap routine--try some Plantlife soaps. I'd be willing to bet that if you returned to "normal," store-bought soaps afterwards, you'd do so grudgingly and reluctantly!

This is a wonderful soap for the hands. It's mild and cleans the hands well. The scent is beautiful and lends a nice aroma to the bathroom. I've been buying Plantlife soaps for a number of years because they have a great product. Their customer service is very courteous and prompt. They ship quickly and package the product well. I have never received any damaged soaps from them.I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys soap that doesn't contain a host of potentially harmful chemicals.

I love the woodsy scents and this is by far the best I've ever used, the scent is strong but so wonderful it doesn't matter, smells fresh and clean and the lingering effects are not overpowering, they fade in a short period of time (all the PlantLife soaps do) wear any fragrance you like over this, no clashing, just a subtle earthiness added.
