I love this soap. For one it does not dry out my skin like most soaps. Second it is relatively cheap if you buy it in bulk and the scent is very clean. The bar doesn't last too long not short, but not long either which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. This is my go-to soap until something better comes along. Different scent would be a plus but since it is new I'm sure if sales are good enough they'll create more scents. I would recommend it to any man who has trouble with dry skin.

I ordered this prodct when it was new to the market. Amazon pricing was 300% higher than store retail, but I didn't have any local stores and wanted to give it a try. It was nothing more than a basic soap. Other brands, including Dove for Men, do a much better job at a cheaper price.

I've used Dominica Bay Rum Aftershave for many years. It is highly recommended. This soap is a complement to that natural scent. The soap has a very rich lather so it doesn't take too much. Don't leave this one sitting in the soap dish or it will diminish quickly for an expensive bar. It dries relatively quickly in a nice aerated dish. Good for shower. The small bits (Bay Rum Leaf?) can be a little scratchy for a sensitive skin, but the scent and lather are worth it to me.

Grisi Mother of Pearl Bar Soap 4 Pack

Actually could see some removal of discoloration in about 6-days after initial use (was washing skin with soap in the morning and prior to retiring in the evening). This product gave me a similar positive reaction to a soap I had used some time ago. This works best in conjunction with a skin lightening agent of sorts.

I was pleasantly surprised to have such positive results from this product as well. This does what it says. The results are not immediate but slow but that is safer for your facial skin. I recommend this product especially if you are using sort of cream/gel to lighten those areas that you feel need an extra push.

I read all of the reviews on this product before I purchased it. They paint this little bar as a miracle worker. My experience was unlike any I read. The first week was fine. I did notice tightening and a sheen appearance on my skin. I followed the directions, wash and leave on 3-5 minutes, twice a day, don't use any moisturizers, allow the healing process to begin. After the second week my skin was so dry and itchy, I started using Cetaphil just at night. The breakouts began! Every morning I woke up with at least one new cystic pimple. I thought okay this is just the healing crisis at work, so I continued. After a month of use and no relief, I contacted the lady on the wonderbar website, she directed me to use pure jojoba oil if needed for moisture. Okay, no more Cetaphil, just a tiny bit of jojoba as needed. ZITS, ZITS, ZITS, I mean in places I never had them, all along the hairline, chin area, even around my jaws, it seems like everything this product touched on my skin broke out! Again, I continued, thinking it's going to get better and then my skin will be amazing like all the reviews said. After 2 1/2 months and the worse skin condition I have ever had, I stopped using this product and went back to Proactiv (which I have not had to use since my early twenties) in an attempt to clear up the acne I now have. I probably will have to go to the dermatologist, since I also have some dermatitis around my nose that won't clear up. On the positive side, the Proactiv is starting to clear things up. Now I just have to wait for the scars to fade from having so many zits in a short time. I'm not the type of person to complain about things, or go on a rant, I would normally just stop using it and say, "Okay, well it didn't work for me"! But given I read the reviews and only saw excellent stories, I figured it is my responsibility to share my experience. If I would have read this review, I probably wouldn't have spent the money and time to suffer this product!!!!!!!!!!!!

but the Wonderbar is amazing. Like the other reviewer I was shocked at the teeny tiny size, it is exactly the size of complimentary hotel bar soap. However, I'd already spent the money so I just decided I'd give it a try but never again buy a product that didn't list a size/weight.

Let me just say, the Wonderbar has completely changed my skin. I'm 37 years old, with periodic acne and rosacea. I've moisturized religiously since I was about 13 so wrinkle-wise I'm pretty good, but the dryness and break-outs have always been a problem. They're not anymore. I've been using the Wonderbar for three weeks and my skin is clear and bright. There is a healthy not greasy shine after I finish washing my face that I don't think I've ever seen. Plus, I survived PMS without a single break-out.

I'm using a BB cream now instead of a full-on foundation and it goes on super smooth and easy. The texture of my skin is dramatically smoother and softer and my pores seem much less visible.

Like I said, I have never taken the time to review anything, but after trying so many other products I have to say that the Wonderbar is the best thing I've ever purchased for my face.

It is expensive, but despite its size it seems to go a long way. After three weeks my bar doesn't seem noticbly smaller at all. If you're not sure, TRY IT. I'll never try another cleanser as long as Wonderbar is available.

I was shocked when I received the Wonder Bar. I had no idea it would be this small. It was about the size of a complimentary soap you get in a hotel, 2 1/2" by 1 1/2". However, I've been using it and I really like it. I'm fortunate that I have good skin, but I believe it even better. It is expensive for the size, but I will probably purchase it again.

I love this product. It firms... tightens... my skin is smooth and supple. But the bar is so expensive and so small! It is the size of a sample given at a hotel. I did not pay attention to the dimensions and was shocked to see the size. However, the product is excellent and I found myself reordering... Still not happy about the cost and the size. But it would not be just to lower the rating for the cost of the product.

I also recommend Dial Basics HypoAllergenic liquid handsoap -one of the rare liquid handsoaps that isn't over-scented.

This is a great product but it's extremely hard to find in the stores. Even with this order, the supplier had to wait a couple of weeks to get it from Dial.

Lathers nicely, doesn't leave a greasy film, and doesn't irritate the skin. It does contain some fragrance but is not overwhelming.

Boy was I duped! Here I am thinking I was going to get 3oz of AUTHENTIC black soap for $1.99..silly me! This is nothing but regular bar soap (think no-name and unscented)dyed black! The dye even rubs off on the washcloth! Do not buy if you want the real deal!

this soap is what i call "USA Made"....which means some US based company thought it would be a good idea to make a "modern version" of the African black soap. I ordered 1lb Raw African Black Soap from Ghana because the name says it all, its the black soap without all the added ingredients like the other so-called African soaps that don't have their ingredients listed. The raw product is better for your skin because their isn't anything extra that is added. All the black dye does is make a huge mess and can cause your skin to dry out or have a reaction to the dye. Raw and unprocessed is honestly better for your skin.

This soap is not what you think it is. This soap here is NOT Black soap as it states on the sticker. I did not buy this product from here BUT my mom had like 6 bars of this stuff. I tried one for two weeks and it not only stained my exfoliating gloves, it dried out my skin and did not treat the marks and spots on my body. Real Black Soap, however, does not EVER stain gloves and other fabric or leave your skin high and dry. It makes you skin softer and healthier as it cleanses your skin. Most African Black Soaps are made by hand and use only ORGANIC ingredients. This "Black Soap" is actually a sulfate bar dyed black-brown and slapped the label "African Black Soap" on its package. This is a very useless product. I don't believe this is made in Africa at all.

I am writing this review in my own opinion. The bar's effect differs from people who use it and how it works. If you want real soft, beautiful and healthy skin from REAL African Black Soap, then I suggest you use either Dr. Woods liquid black soap w/ Shea Butter or Dudu-osun African Black Soap bars which is made in Nigeria.

In other words, Don't waste your money on this product. Save your $2 and go for the REAL Black soap.

I use this product as an body wash including hair and face. It's gentle and makes my skin feel soft and refreshed. I would highly recommend it.

Dr. Woods is freaking fantastic. It does everything Dr. Bronner's magic soap does but for a fraction of the price and with the added bonus of shea butter. However, if you order from Cosmetic Solutions, you should be aware that the great deal you think you are getting with a four-pack of 32 oz. bottles, is not real. You will get only one 32 ounce bottle. However, $8 for one giant bottle is still a killer price.

I love this product it makes my skin look so nice after I use it. The bars are small but if you keep it dry I'd say each can last a month, since I've been on one bar for about 3 weeks. Also remember this is a kojic acid soap , it's not as strong as the normal Koije san but if you have sensitive skin be cautious. If it stings me I rinse it off. Using this, especially after a long day out and about, my face and skin looks brighter. I'm black with med brown/caramel skin and using it makes my skin look kinda "fair" which goes away a little after awhile.. I get better results when I lightly exfoliate first, but be careful cus your skin will be more sensitive if you do that. I love the smell and how easily it lathers, you don't have to use that much at all. Anyway I will be ordering more once I'm done with these bars.

I returned this product immediately. The scent of lavender was barely distinguishable, while the clingy floral scent was cloying and unpleasant. I can't even imagine having this scent surround me in the shower--it was bad enough simply to touch to the soap. Return shipping was on me, btw, which means I'll never buy another scented product at Amazon. I know the difference between "oops, this scent isn't for me" and "oops, this scent isn't even lavender."

This Body Shop Soap, with its contents of coconut oil is a real delight. It is so smooth and creamy. You feel completely refreshed after use. I was on the hunt for a safe soap that does not contain harsh toxic chemicals. I know it is expensive, but when you think of what it cost to fight a major medical condition the cost is cheap. This soap is just what I was looking for.

Has a really nice scent. Very pure, yet I imagine the soft smell of the shea does not last long on the skin. But it smells really good. It is pricey, but I felt it was worth my money.

This was my first time buying African Black Soap...had heard so much about it and wanted to give it a try. Many places on the net sell it...but I wasn't sure of making a purchase until I saw the low price on Amazon. The seller even ships PRIORITY mail...which is a plus!!! I've been using this soap for about 2 weeks and I also use it with coconut oil. My skin is GLOWING!!! No commercial soap or cleanser has made my skin look like this before. I have sensitive skin that dries easily, so for as long as I can remember I've been on the hunt for a soap I could call my own.

Here's the skinny:

If you're used to chemical ridden market soaps like Dove or caress, then you're not going to understand Raw African soap until you research the benefits. Purchasing this without a glue then hating it is illogical. Understand that this is RAW ash soap full of natural agents that heal both face and body from the outside in.

Because this soap is ASH, its black and has a unique smell. In my opinion the smell is just fine, but some may find it too unusual and disagreeable. Again, I think the smell is completely natural and acceptable and feel any objection may be due to one unfairly comparing it to commercial soap.

More often than not this soap comes in block form. This is how it is made and distributed in Africa. To keep the price reasonable the same form is distributed in the US. If you want a factory to sit and carve this stuff into squares then you're asking for a ridiculous mark up. So, if the size is your complaint consider practicing some self sufficiency and cutting the block yourself.

The lather is amazing! A small piece could easily wash your entire body from head to toe. The soap will create a light but smooth foam that will coat and cleanse your body. Within time the average person will notice improvements in their skin condition. Like I said before I have sensitive skin so almost everything leaves me dry; this soap does strip a little as any soap will, but it causes no where near the damage commercial soaps or high lanolin/glycerin soaps will cause. I recommend rubbing your body with coconut oil daily no matter what soap you use. This will help maintain your glow and will minimize stripping.

Some say they use this on their hair. That option isn't exactly for me as I have really curly afro-bohemian hair and therefore need something a little better suited and ph balanced with acidity, but if you have Caucasian style hair this may work well for you. I feel it will leave a good clean and a good portion of your natural sebum.

Over all, I love this soap. It's completely feminine in nature. I feel Egyptian Goddesses must have used this, it's just so luxurious and complete in its form. Now, it's not magic so don't get super worked up, but it is an amazing soap with incalculable nourishing benefits. And of course you can't beat the cost! Research the product and give it a fair try :), and ALWAYS make sure your purchases support fair trade :-).

This soap is great! First its natural, second it is veryy drying. That might seem like a bad thing but when you have acne issues, its great. I saw a video on YouTube where the lady washes her face with African black soap, applies a thin layer of 100% Shea butter, and then applies a thin layer of African black soap on the acne (at night). In the morning, the acne has dried up considerably. Great tip! Loved the video, lovee this soap!
