Kiss My Face Bar Soap, 8.0 oz, Pure Olive Oil. 1-Bar

I have very sensitive skin, and have tried even some of those beauty bars like Dove or Oil of Olay... nothing worked to deal with my dry skin, and in fact, virtually everything I used irritated it. This soap does not. The only odd thing about it is it's more slimy than a lather when wet, but... when you use it, it rinses off very easily. I use it on one of those bath puffs, and when I submerge it in the water, the soap just dissolves off of it almost immediately. I'm really satisfied with it, even if it's a bit harder to get a good amount off the bar for washing than normal soap. The bars last longer too, I'd say. Leaves my skin soft and not all dried out, nor does it seem to clog pores. (I also think it has a nice, clean, pleasant smell, even though there is no perfume in it!)

I've finally found the solution for my soap dilemma of having sensitive skin. ^_^ I hope I never have to use any other soap again!

This "All-Natural" soap is the best for dry, sensitive skin that we've tried so far. It really is made with lots of olive oil which is why it is green, and it seems to be hypoallergenic too! The real bonus comes in the form of the fresh moisturized feeling one gets with each use. The perfumes and other additives which are NOT in this soap are NOT missed. For us, this has become the soap for most applications, with Lava being reserved for grease or stains.

In our experience, using this soap for just a month or so will greatly alleviate chronic dry skin, and this is even more obvious on men than women. Using this "Pure Olive Oil Soap" for baths and showers really puts its moisturizing effects into overdrive, something that I expected but which really surprised and impressed my husband.

Now everyone in our household wants this incredible soap in a liquid with a pump action! Now, if only they will make one!?

Sad but true, in the US you can sell detergent as soap. Why is that important? Soap is gentle on your skin and detergent strips the oils and can lead to nasty skin irritations. Most of the bath soaps sold at your local stores are detergents. I learned this when I developed skin problems.

This is a true soap made with only Olive Oil. It smells a little funny, but I never smell funny after using it. It cleans gently and leaves a thin film of oil on your skin. No more break outs, no more creams from the doctor. And best of all no more of that tight dry skin all winter long.

Kiss my face soap has been the answer to my sensitive, ichy, ashy skin solution. Its extremely mild, does not strip nor excessively foam, and its got a very faint fragrance which is good for those with perfume allergies. The olive oil bar soap paired with the olive oil and aloe moisturizer have stayed in my bathroom for years. I never have itchy scaly skin anymore, and have actually received compliments on how soft my skin has become. Nice smell, love that it has no phthalates, etc. Decent lather although I don't know if it's enough for shaving.

I am not sure what I like most about this product... It's a safe alternative to typical showering products (no parabens, sls, etc.) It saves you money and hassle because I use it as shampoo, face wash, shower gel, and shave cream. Not to mention it smells great in my opinion. Very nice lather and cedar/citrus scent. My preference is for a slightly warmer scent with woody products, but I can't complain too muchit is very true to the way it's advertised. Leaves skin feeling very clean, perhaps only a little drying.

I am always looking for a less expensive alternative to Dr.Bronner's, which is just silly overpriced. So I ordered this, and you do get a lot of wash for the money.

But it doesn't smell like Citrus and Cedar-it has a sharp, green smell and that is ok. I was just looking forward to the title sniff. My main complaint is that it is hard to rinse off my skin. You have to really use a lot of water, here-get your puffy good and soaked, stay wet while you shower. THEN you get a decent lather, and a chance of getting it rinsed clean. If you have dry skin and buy the "moisturizing" types of body washes, this may not bother you. My body skin is oily and I live in a humid climate-I'm not looking to being covered in wax.

According to the bottle, you can wash your hair in this. DO NOT do that-it's awful. Zero lather, and you'll spend forever trying to figure out if you got it all rinsed out.

It's a decent soap for the bucks at 32 oz. But I wouldn't buy it again

The Body Shop Satsuma Soap, 3.5 Ounce

This is one of the best-smelling soaps I have ever used. It makes the whole room smell like delicious oranges.

I used The Body Shop Satsuma Soap, The Body Shop Shea Soap, 3.5 Ounce and The Body Shop Coconut Soap, 3.5 Ounce, and loved them all! I live in an area that has *extremely* hard water, so we have a commercial water softener that helps immensely, but can sometimes leave me feeling as though I have residual soap on my skin after rinsing. The Body Shop soaps do not feel that way, at all! They have a wonderful lather, scent and rinse completely, leaving my skin feeling soft and silky. Also, as long as they are kept out of the shower stream when not in use, they last for quite a while!

I will write that Satsuma is a wonderful (!!) scent. I use the home fragrance oils in the ceramic burner daily. But this soap under-performs. It's glycerin making the soaps only last a few showers. As well, the soap doesn't smell quite the same as the other products. That's difficult to explain but not a good quality. I was able to purchase these at $1/each from the actual store and would buy them at that price only.

Burt's Bees Poison Ivy Soap

Yup, this stuff works like a charm. Prevents the P.I. after exposure and if you do get the itches, lather and let it dry right on the rash. It's all about getting the oil off your body, this soap does that. And the Jewelweed helps when you don't get it all and a rash does happen to form. I own a property of 7 poison ivy laden acres; trust me, this stuff works the best, and I have tried it all.

Not only does this stuff work right after you have been exposed, but if you lather it up and leave it on the rash to dry, it drys up the rash. I always keep it on hand now...

After months of using this product, during which time I got poison oak at least 10 times, I can say the following:

1) It doesn't work very well removing oils or clearing up rashes. The only products that seem to be able to stop rashes are Zanfel/Mean Green.

2) It doesn't stop itch very well, about the same level as Calamine lotion, which is to say not very much.

My treatment/prevention regimen:

1) Take Zyrtec during any time you might be exposed.

2) Ivy Block lotion on your hands or anywhere else that might be exposed. Reapply like you would Suntan lotion.

3) Tecnu to wash off oils that may have accumulated.

4) Long Sleeves and Pants.

5) Immediate wash of all affected clothing in 1/2 Tecnu and 1/2 Detergent.

If I get an actual rash:

1) Zanfel per directions

2) Mean Green Cleaner used in the same manner.

3) Gojo also appears to work, but I only used it once.

This will clear up the rash within a day or two.

Black Willow Organic Soap Bars by A Wild Soap Bar

No complaints, it's lathers a lot(questionable about that!) I did some research on the ingredients and there all Acne focused so this product in theory should help with ance.

I personally use it on my body to combat small black heads from forming on my thighs. I've used it on my face here and there but I'd rather perfer something with some acid in it(just my preference!)

Syrian Soap 200g - Olive Oil Soap from Mesopotamia(1 bar)

I was looking around for facial cleanser and came across a review by Maria Orfan for this Syrian soap. I put it on my wish list and played around for about a week, putting it in my cart and then taking it out, so on and so forth. Finally I ordered it. I was intrigued by Maria's assertion that it can be used on hair as I have been having bad hair days for about a month, and the truth is that I nearly ruined my formerly healthy hair over a year ago by using a L'Oreal hair dye at home. Thank god I only left it in for half the recommended time before rinsing, otherwise I'd have come out bald. Anyway it has been a long haul back from that mess and I could kick myself for doing it.

The first day I recieved it I used it to wash my face at night. It cleaned beautifully and actually did NOT leave my face with that tight, dry feeling that every other soap I've ever used did. Instead, it left me skin smooth and moisturized. So I tried it in the shower next day. As a shampoo it does not produce much lather to speak of, which is a good thing as this means there are no sulphates. I washed the rest of me with it and when I got out, again my skin felt smooth and lightly moisturized. I had used a moisturizing masque after shampooing and when I dried my hair, a metamorphosis had taken place: no dry, crackly ends! Just soft, well-conditioned, shiny hair! Now I have been using it every other day for the past week. I don't condition every day; just once or twice a week. On days that I do not use the rinse-out conditioner, I just rub about 5-6 drops of argan oil through the ends of my hair and blow-dry. You might think that because this soap is comprised of olive oil that it would weigh down your hair, but mine was not heavy-feeling, and I have very fine hair. I am having good hair days again for the first time in months.

My skin has responded great to this soap. Now my skin care regimen is this: Syrian soap to cleanse most days, morning and night. Rosewater toner. A salt scrub cleanser by LUSH once per week to exfloiate. I alternate oils on my face: during the day I use rosehip oil, camellia oil and/or argan oil beneath Gorgeous moisturizer by LUSH. At night I use tamanu oil and argan oil beneath NZ Fusion Moon Creme. But the base of all this is this fantastic Syrian Soap.

Keep in mind that this is not a pretty-smelling soap. To me, it does not smell bad but others may beg to differ. You can use a good-smelling conditioner after shampoo; I like LUSH American Cream and Morrocan Oil Moisture Mask. Also, if you are just switching to all-natural from a preservative and sulphate-laden shampoo, your hair will need time to adjust to it, but stick with it and you will have the healthiest hair you've ever seen. If you are teenaged or in your 20's or early 30's, you may not even need moisturizer after using this on your face and body. Since I'm 49 and need all the moisture I can get, I like to use the oils!

This soap also contains laurel oil, sea water and pot ash and that's it for ingredients. Laurel oil acts as an antibacterial agent so is good for the scalp. Laurel oil is actually more expensive than olive oil so the higher the laurel content, the more expensive the soap. Given the price of this one, I'd say content is about 12% though I am not absolutely certain of that. Some soaps contain a much as 45% laurel oil, though I have not seen those sold on amazon. These ingredients are boiled in a cauldron until the soapmaker knows the time is right, then poured into molds to cool and cut by hand. After that they are "cured" in the sun for about 9 months, changing in color from green to blue-green and finally brown. Then they are stamped, wrapped and sold in markets in Syria...and now in America!

Syrian Soap is one of the best things you can do for your skin and hair. Again, the scent doesn't send me; neither does it offend me. Apparently (from what I've read) adding scent to this soap decreases the effectiveness of the other ingredients. But you may not like it if you don't like the smell of olives. Some others have compared the smell to rubber tires or automotive grease, but it does not smell like that to me. I am just so enchanted by the positive changes I've seen in my skin and especially my hair that it could smell like goats and I'd probably still use it.

The laurel in this is what gives it the edge over plain olive soap. It naturally tones and nourishes the skin especially as it runs down my face while I shampoo. It's just incredible on hair and I love the laurel for my scalp even though I have no issues. I've purchased 20.

I typically buy the soap in Syria. However, with the recent troubles (so sad) it is a bit difficult to get there. The supplier sells the exact same products you find in Syria. So the quality is excellent. The smell, texture and skin sensation of the soap is superb. I like it.

Since I sweat a lot my skin requires good moisturizing. I believe this soap does a good job to keep my skin as healthy as when I was born.

Tone Original Scent Bar With Cocoa Butter And Botanicals - 2 Bars

My family has always preferred the original scent Tone soap with cocoa butter. Leaves the skin clean but not dehydrated with a nice neutral scent. Unfortunately, most stores now carry Tone in different (and much stronger) fragrances which we do not like. Nice to be able to purchase the original on-line.

Tone Skin Care Bars of soap with Cocoa Butter and Botanicals (including aloe and papaya) does moisturize your skin while cleansing it as a type of soap with water. The bars are easy to hold onto in the shower; and the moisturizing additives (including the cocoa butter) make a big difference between this and regular soap.

Tone may call these "skin care bars;" but rest assured you will find them in the soap aisle of your supermarket. Tone advertises them as "skin care bars" to try to set them apart from the other soaps; but this still remains a type of soap.

Unfortunately, these bars of soap have a slight smell that I don't care for. I can't quite describe it in words; but I assume other people must like the scent for Tone to keep on selling. However, if you're allergic to perfumes and scents, this would not be the soap for you.

All in all, this is good soap for persons who want a soap that helps you moisturize your skin when you're in the shower or bathtub. I personally don't care for the smell although others may like it.

I love the smell of Tone, but I think that is the cocoa butter in it that other people don't like. I have cocoa butter lotion, and that has an even stronger scent, but I like that smell, too.

Initially, I was in search of a more "pure" bar soap or one that didn't irritate/dry out my skin. After prowling the aisle, I came to this brand that I haven't tried. I was a little hesitant being that I am NOT a fan of Dial bar soap. Anyways, I trust cocoa butter because it has been around for years, so anything with a little cocoa butter couldn't be all bad. Plus it was cheap. The soap was fine and didn't smell half bad, but what I loved about the soap was how it helped lighten my chest scars. I had developed some hyperpigmented spots after an unusual sudden outbreak on my chest and back due to hormone imbalance. Being an African american woman with bumps on her chest was embarrassing enough, because scars are more noticeable. After using this soap for a week, the scars had lightened! I honestly thought I was just FINALLY getting better and had completely forgotten I had began using a new soap, because bathing is so routine. Then I put 2 and 2 to together. The scars went from a dark ashy gray to a lighter brown(most likely due to the cocoa butter properties). I wasn't expecting the soap to work in that way or that quickly, because I've used straight cocoa butter on scars and scrapes before and I saw no change. I'm going to continue to use this soap and hopefully see some more improvement. Maybe I'll use it in combination with a cocoa butter stick too. Couldn't hurt.

TEA TREE SOAP,VEGETABLE pack of 9

I LOVE THIS SOAP!!! This soap is a staple in my house. I believe the best way to prevent pressure sores from happening to someone like my son who has MS is to keep them as clean as possible but have to use a good soap, one that keep bacteria in check and does not dry out the skin. That's what the tea tree soap does. It also is excellent for washing your face after shaving and is great for keeping the face free of bacteria thereby keeping pimples out of sight and out of mind. OH, and this soap smells wonderful AND it's very creamy. You have to take care of this soap to. Don't put it in a dish and let water collect in the dish too or else you will have a melted mess. If you don't use if for a few days it will look like it's about to split apart, but it's fine and still feasible! I have 12 bars on hand right now...just in case 2012 comes late we'll still have pimple free faces!

Pre de Provence Soap, Set Of 5, Coconut, 125 Gram Cello Wrap

I am very unhappy with this purchase. The soaps are only 1½" x 1½" big and they do NOT smell like coconut at all. All five soaps stacked together only measure 3½", so you can imagine how tiny they are. The packaging was terrible as well. The soaps were sent in a bubble padded HUGE manilla envelope which provided zero protection for the soaps and the corners of the bars really show wear and tear. I do not recommend this item.

This is the best soap I've ever used. It is lightly scented. It lathers better than any soap I've used. These aren't heavily scented soaps that are molded in some cutesy shape, these are soaps made by people who know what great soap is. No gimmicks, just great soap.

Mountain Ocean Skin Trip Soap, Coconut , 4.5-Ounces (Pack of 4)

I love this soap. I have very dry skin, and most soaps don't help with that. Even non-drying soap, while not adding to the dryness, also don't help. This one does. And the skin benefits of coconut oil are well documented. So I lather it up and use it on my hair, too. The only problem I have with the bar is that it doesn't last long. But then I love it so much I use it constantly, so it may be me rather than the product.

Update: I think I figured out why the bars don't last long they are under-cured. What I do is order a bunch at a time, take them all out of the plastic, and let them air cure for at least 4 weeks before use. They last much longer.

I have been using Skin Trip products since the mid 1980's. The quality has never waivered. This soap has a lovely feel and smell. It has become the only soap I use.
